Current Covid Restriction on The Ships

I was on the same cruise as the PP.

You could sit as you liked in the theatre. CMs didn't try to control seating in any way, neither telling you to scoot down nor to stay separate from other parties. Thank goodness! If I take the trouble to arrive early & snag an aisle seat, it's because I really want an aisle seat, thank you very much. Don't tell me to scoot over so that latecomers can have the aisle.

No character hugs, still distanced photos. Characters did appear at scheduled times for these photos, which was different than when I cruised in October. However, the app just said "character photo"& didn't specify which character when or what type of outfit.

Not much pirate dressing up. No real pirate party, as PP mentioned. I did know in advance from social media that there would be a pirate-themed dinner, so for many it wasn't a surprise.

I don't know if they increased capacity, but it was a crowded, busy cruise. Just like any spring break Fantasy cruise would have been in the past.
What itinerary was your cruise? We are doing eastern on the fantasy in late April.

still pool capacity and 15-minute limit nonsense, despite the small fountain areas having twice as many people in a quarter of the space, unmonitored 🙃
Now that kids club no longer has reservation, this is my current worry. 15 mins and pool capacity limits for pools? How on earth is that relaxing and how does that work with kids? How are they justifying this in light of the other relaxation of rules? It seems baffling to me!

I got the distinct feeling that the remaining onboard rules are not going to be around for very long- I'd bet money they'll be gone by summer.

For example, character photos are still distanced, but now again they're publishing times & places in advance and having line-ups for them, and of course, guests are unmasked for them. It seemed like a dress rehearsal for the time when these photo ops will return to the old type with hugs.

For another example, Bingo was not socially distanced- D Lounge was typically standing room only, and they let people sit and stand around the edges of the room as needed. Not tightly packed, but still, it wasn't distanced- every chair was taken and then some, with people sitting on the floor and other perches around the edges. There was no final jackpot Bingo session which they used to host in a jam-packed theatre, but I suspect that will eventually return, as well.

At Castaway Cay, many guests were unmasked in the shops. This included me, and the reason was not rebellion, just that I (and probably the others) had totally forgotten about masking, since masks are not required anywhere else on CC or in the shops onboard. When I was making my purchase, a CM gently asked if I'd be going to the other shop on the island, then reminded me that if I was I should wear a mask in it. It was so gentle, though, and he ended with, "but don't worry about it". They clearly were just bringing up the letter of a rule that they didn't take very seriously.

Now that the masking of guests is almost entirely gone, the cruises have a whole different feeling (I also cruised in October, when Covid enforcement was much more rigid). No one is standing on the dots anymore, there is no spacing of lines anywhere, the food offerings at Cabanas are almost back to pre-Covid variety, on CC there is no more waiting in a line on the beach to swim out to Pelican Plunge, no one is reluctant to share an elevator, etc. It felt like a pretty normal cruise.

Are the CM’s still wearing masks Indoors?

Yes, they are. I doubt that will go on for long, though. I can't remember seeing ANY guests wearing masks indoors during the cruise outside of the theatre. So they won't likely keep forcing the crew to do so for very long.

No, they aren't.
Thanks! So glad to hear that CM’s don’t have to wear masks. I always feel guilty not wearing one and they have to work their butts off serving us and on top have to wear a mask. Plus, it is always so hard understanding what they are saying in a crowded restaurant.

Darn! Just read your second post. Sure wish they would let the CM’s choose.

Dropping Off/Picking Up
Only one parent or guardian at a time can drop off or pick up kids at Disney’s Oceaneer Lab and Disney’s Oceaneer Club. In addition, parents are not allowed to enter the youth clubs when dropping off and picking up children.

were parents always not allowed to enter the youth club when dropping or picking their children up or is only since covid restrictions.

It's always been that way. On rare occasions, a parent might be allowed in, if there were issues actually getting the child to come out.

So what does parents do when it time to pick their child up from youth club if parents are not allowed enter the youth club. Also what issues would child not want to come out of youth club.
