Current Covid Restriction on The Ships

So what does parents do when it time to pick their child up from youth club if parents are not allowed enter the youth club. Also what issues would child not want to come out of youth club.
Parents stop at the door to sign kids out. The Club CM goes into the club and gets the child and brings him/her out to the door.

It's quite possible that a child is having so much fun in the club that they do not want to leave and will refuse to accompany the CM to the door.

I got the distinct feeling that the remaining onboard rules are not going to be around for very long- I'd bet money they'll be gone by summer.

For example, character photos are still distanced, but now again they're publishing times & places in advance and having line-ups for them, and of course, guests are unmasked for them. It seemed like a dress rehearsal for the time when these photo ops will return to the old type with hugs.

For another example, Bingo was not socially distanced- D Lounge was typically standing room only, and they let people sit and stand around the edges of the room as needed. Not tightly packed, but still, it wasn't distanced- every chair was taken and then some, with people sitting on the floor and other perches around the edges. There was no final jackpot Bingo session which they used to host in a jam-packed theatre, but I suspect that will eventually return, as well.

At Castaway Cay, many guests were unmasked in the shops. This included me, and the reason was not rebellion, just that I (and probably the others) had totally forgotten about masking, since masks are not required anywhere else on CC or in the shops onboard. When I was making my purchase, a CM gently asked if I'd be going to the other shop on the island, then reminded me that if I was I should wear a mask in it. It was so gentle, though, and he ended with, "but don't worry about it". They clearly were just bringing up the letter of a rule that they didn't take very seriously.

Now that the masking of guests is almost entirely gone, the cruises have a whole different feeling (I also cruised in October, when Covid enforcement was much more rigid). No one is standing on the dots anymore, there is no spacing of lines anywhere, the food offerings at Cabanas are almost back to pre-Covid variety, on CC there is no more waiting in a line on the beach to swim out to Pelican Plunge, no one is reluctant to share an elevator, etc. It felt like a pretty normal cruise.

We were on the 3/14 Dream cruise and mask enforcement is pretty much cast member specific. On Castaway Cay, shops were handing out masks and not letting anyone in without a mask. Waiting in line for the Aquaduck, some cast members were stringent on standing on the dots while others did not care. The limited capacity at the pools for social distancing doesn't work when everyone is standing in line beside each other for the 15 minutes. Walt Disney Theatre was very strict on mask wearing for the shows but there was no social distancing at all in the theater, Beauty & the Beast was packed and it was awesome!

The cast members did seem very happy with the recent reduced restrictions. I'm sure my family would have had a completely different experience if the kids club was still on the reservation system. My kids spent hours there and ran amok, that's all they wanted to do (and I was free from entertaining them).

It's always been that way. On rare occasions, a parent might be allowed in, if there were issues actually getting the child to come out.
The two cruises we did pre covid that had a kid in the kids club we dropped them off at the gate but entered to pick them up. They would tell us their current location and parent went to get.

Same—pre-Covid we always entered the club to find our kids. This rule is new. I like it better as i hated arguing with my kids when it was time to leave and they didn’t want to stop what they were doing.

OK, thanks. I was pretty sure we just picked up at the door, but it's been a while.

Yes it was kind of a pain, and the last time I had two and they dart fast so the locations they give half the time one of them has gone somewhere else. I honestly always thought it was strange, I could see it as a back up if the kids won't just come willingly or something.
