Hi,

We currently own at Bay Lake Towers. I am considering the purchase of additional points. I am relatively new at the DVC ownership (March 2014). We bought at BLT because we wanted our home resort to be walkable to the Magic Kingdom. For an additional purchase, location isn't as important, but rather value.

Any thoughts on the best properties at the WDW resort, with respect to purchasing additional points via resale?

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Luke

Before scratching your addonitis itch, you might want to checkout some of the other DVC resorts yourself. See which meet your needs for now and in the future. You might find your likes/travel plans/resorts/tastes/etc changing with what you learn.

Agree with PP. I haven't been following the ROFR thread lately but for a while, I found SSR to be the best value. Lowest maintenance fees and the per point cost was going for relatively low. Not sure if this is still the case, but if budget is a factor, it's something to look into.

SSR is probably the cheapest option.

just remember that you cannot combine SSR pts with BLT pts until the 7 month window.

We own at BLT too! Love the walk to MK and monorail to Poly and GF.

We recently stayed at OKW and didn't care for it. The resort is huge (very spread out), bus service was questionable, and our room was not clean (mold in shower and visible spill that had dried on the kitchen floor). It was the first time I ever felt compelled to clean a hotel room. However, lots of people love OKW, so you really need to try it to see if it's for you.

If we bought additional DVC points, we would add on at BLT or possibly buy Poly. After our OKW experience I realize the value of "buy where you want to stay."

Renting points is a great way to try different resorts. Perhaps you should try that to see if you like SSR or another resort.:thumbsup2

I suggest that you take your time, stay at the different resorts and buy your favorites.

You may not feel it now but as time goes on you will probably spend more time at the resorts and less in the parks.

All good advice. We've stayed at Kidani and love the Savannah View rooms. I like the idea of renting points to try other resorts.

Thanks for the input.

We just stayed in the Treehouses, and fell in love with Saratoga Springs. Oh shoot, we have never stayed in a really bad room. :rotfl:
