Thomas Exchange may offer a good rate but you are paying £5 for postage. If anyone is intereted, I bought some dollars from Thomson/Lunn Poly at lunchtime today and got a rate of $1.735 to the £

Even factoring in the £5 delivery if you exchange £1000 (or £995) you get $1759.56 from Thompson Exchange and only $1735.00 from Thompson/Lunn Poly making you $24.56 better off. Not a huge amount I agree, but enough for a meal somewhere.

Jst checked out the Online FX rate and it is over $1.76
If you are thinking of getting any currency keep your eyes on the rate and buy buy buy (Ive always wanted to say that )

Just looked at Thomas Exchange and it's on the up! Currently 1.7858......will it get back to 1.8 I wonder? Oooh the anticipation!

Hi, I noticed that if you buy from travelex you have to collect from the airport. Has anyone done this and where abouts is it??

If you order from Travelex, they ask where you want to collect your currency from. You select the airport and it tells you where the Travelex is (for example, Gatwick gives you two options - South Terminal Check-in area or North Terminal check-in area). We are thinking we will probably go for Travelex as we can pick up our TCs the night before when we do our Twilight Check-in.

Thomas exchange showing $ at 1.80 today. Bummer I changed my money last week at 1.74. Was worried it may go down again. Oh well. C'est la vie.

Bought yesterday at M&S and got $1.777 which I thought was excellent as the papers were showing a tourist rate of $1.70. THe only downside was the 45 minute wait!
