After reading a bunch of posts and PJs...it really got me thinking. How many of your DH's or DF's actually love Disney as much as you do? Did they want a Disney wedding too? Did they get YOU into Disney? Or are they just so in love with you that they're willing to do whatever you want?

Mine is definitely the latter. Luckily, DF thinks my obsession with Disney is adorable. He hasn't been to Disney since he was maybe 5 years old. Last time he went, the only parks were Magic Kingdom and EPCOT! I don't think he'll ever love it as much as I do, but I'm sure he'll have a good time...and he has finally resigned to that fact he will be accompanying me on several trips throughout our life together. So he'll learn to love it whether he likes it or not!! :rotfl2:

So what about all of you?!! Were you lucky enough to find a real Disney groom?!

I have a real Disney groom! He still has his original Mickey Mouse from 1980! I did the WDW College Program in 99 and he says *all the time* he wishes he would have known about it, he would have done it and we would have met that way! So, in our next life, that's the plan!! :wizard:

I think he was into it as a kid, but hadn't been to WDW in a long time, so it was our first trip together that made him a WDW addict. But, Disney and Mickey have always been his thing.

My DH is the Disney Addict. When we met, he had been to Disney several times in his life and I had only been once, when I was 12. He has dozens of Mickey and Goofy movies. And tons of Disney t-shirts and other stuff.

I, on the other hand, HATED all things Mickey. I LOVED Donald. And to be honest, I never really gave Mickey a chance. I assumed he was a jerk, like Bugs Bunny, and shunned Disney most of my life.

But because I loved DH, I gave Mickey and Disney a second chance and came to see the error of my ways when DH and I went to Disney last May (my second trip ever).

When DH proposed in October, I brought up the idea of a Disney wedding and he immediately said "YES". He told me that he had dreamt of honeymooning at Disney since he was little, but he didn't realize that people could get married there. So he was ecstatic!

I NEVER imagined having my wedding at WDW or having THREE Mickey related cake toppers and wearing Minnie ears for 4 days straight and falling asleep to Fantasia almost every night, but now I can't imagine it any other way.

unfortunately, DF isn't a disney lover like me. He definitely thinks that our disney wedding is going to be really cool and that all our guests will remember our wedding because it will be so unique. He is doing a disney wedding for me though. If he had his way, we'd be getting married on a beach in Hawaii, which isn't a bad deal, just not disney ;)

Amazingly it was my fiance who suggested a Disney wedding::yes:: , i originally had my heart set on getting married on a beach in Hawaii. About 4 years a go after having a long discusion about our wedding plans & after me mentioning Hawaii my df brought up Disney.

I ve no clue how he knew about a Disney Wedding as i had never heard of one & my df really is nt too clued up with anything to do with weddings anyway. In in all I honesty did nt jump at the idea of having our wedding in WDW. I really wanted our wedding in Hawaii so we kinda left it at that. I liked Disney but thats all id say i did "like it", sure i owned a few of the films from my childhood,i ve always had a thing for Eeyore. id been to WDW as a teenager but in all honesty i did nt really like it. I was at that horrible age where i thought Disney was "uncool";) :confused3 .

One night i was searching on the net which i tend to do all the time for hours & hours searching all sorts of things & i went on Theme Park Reviews site. I watched a few of their vids to only come a cross the creators of the site getting married in Disney. After watching it,it completly changed my mind about my df's idea for a Disney wedding. The video was amazing, it made me see getting married in a whole new light:lovestruc .

So since that night i researched it & have never looked back. I m now completly addicted to Disney:love: , its my fav thing in the world, i ve become a big kid all over again :woohoo:. Its funny we both last went to wdw when we were a round 14/15 & for both of us it never really did much. Well now as adults we can fully appreciate the wonder & magic that wdw is. I feel like i know all the parks inside & out & i ve not been there in over 12 yrs. We ve been DLRP 3 times but its just not the same, Europeans do not have the same hospitality as Americans plus its tiny in comparison

So our wedding really is down to my df, sure i ve done all of the planning but he was the one to suggest it in the first place :thumbsup2

My DF just goes with the flow and if I say I want a Disney wedding, then he's ready to do it. We've taken our three kids to Disney four times already, so he does get into the spirit and acts like a kid. I think he's excited, but it's mostly just because I want to do it.

MY DH is the one who suggested it too!

Except he suggested it about 4 weeks after we met and all I thought was :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :rotfl2:

But I warmed up to him.:teeth:

My DF isn't a big Disney fan like me. Actually he makes fun of my Disney love! He is more of a superhero, Batman/Superman fan. He does like Disney, he likes Disney World but he can do without it. I can't. :rotfl:

I had the idea of the Disney wedding after we started planning our wedding in New Jersey and he was all for it because it was cheaper :rotfl2:

I think I am turning him into a fan though. He wants me to buy him Mickey Crocs when I go down Friday and he is going to look into us joining the DVC.

I have been slipping him the Disney Kool-Aid!

When I was younger I wanted the big traditional wedding and reception, but when DH proposed I knew what was really important - vowing to be with him the rest of our lives. He wanted a small wedding and that was fine with me because I wanted to share our special day only with the people who mattered most to us. For years I was fascinated with Disney weddings and when I looked into Disney and we realized it really was affordable for what we wanted (Intimate/Escape) there was no question it would be a Disney wedding.

He didn't specifically love the idea of Disney as much as I did, he just wanted to marry me. If I'd suggested getting married at a drive thru in Vegas he would have gone along with it :rotfl:

awww everyone has such good stories! and they're all so different (except we ALL have fabulous DH/DFs)!

Keep em coming!! :goodvibes

My df had never been to disney untill this year when we went for our planning session... so he thought it was going to be like six flags!!
He was blown away and now loves disney almost as much as i do! Well he loves Disney World i should say.... He teases at me now and then for watching all my disney movies.. and ahem.. yes.. the disney channel :rolleyes1

SO WHAT if i like hannah montana!!! :rotfl:

Dont worry about Hannah Montana, i get constantly teased by my df about H.M as when we walk around the Disney store they re always playing music from her show & i m always singing to it  .

My df thinks i should be Sharpay's older sis as im just like her (thats according to him anyway;) ). Not looks wise as all we have in common is we re both blonde but in the way i love the things she wears & way she acts. Im just a 27 yr old Sharpay fan:woohoo: :rotfl:

I LOVE the Disney channel!! DF teases me all the time for watching shows that target 12 year olds. My 12 year old cousin thinks it's sooo cool I watch the same stuff as her... :rotfl2:

My DF just rolls his eyes...if he sees I'm watching Hannah Montana..he asks.."so is this that stupid secret rockstar show?" I make sure to point out that he obviously pays attention to the show enough to KNOW it's about a secret rockstar. :lmao:

M DH hadn't been to Disney since he was 8 before we met (we were only 14) and he remembered that he loved it when he was there. After a while, my parents began to take him on our family vacations to the world & now he loves going. I wouldn't say he loves it in the same way I do, but he does love to be there. When I said I wanted a Disney wedding, he definately wasn't going to argue with me. Especially since my parents were footing the bill :lmao:

My DF is definitely not a Disney lover. He is doing this because he loves me and he wants me to be happy (which I think is a pretty dern good reason lol). On our last visit there he did say to me that he is starting to understand why I love it so much. Hopefully after our wedding he will truly love Disney the way I do.

In the beginning of our relationship he was quite frightened by my Disney obsession.

I went to Disney 3 or 4 times without DF. I had asked him if he wanted to come with us each time but he always said no. I guess it felt like it was too childish for him and the last time he went was over 10 years ago. Eventually I stopped asking him to come along and would just plan my trips with my cousins and sister who are also Disney lovers.

DF knew that I had always wanted him to go to Disney with me so one day he surprised me and told me that he was taking me to Disney! At this point he was only going because he knew how much I loved it. We had a great trip and when we were on the ME going back to the airport, he whispered to me "I don't want to go home yet". After that moment, I knew we would be back for many trips together.

A few more trips later, he proposed (in Disney) and a Disney wedding seemed like perfect thing for us. When I brought up the idea, he was on board right away. He doesn't love Disney as much as I do, but he does like it a lot - which is enough for me :)

DF is not Disney Crazed like I am.. He can go a year or two without going to Disney and be ok with it… I have dreamed of getting married in Disney since I was in 5th grade, so he didn’t have a choice. He now goes to Disney with my family and I whenever we go and he has a GREAT time. But if I wanted to get married somewhere else he would be fine with that too.

Gav loves Disney. I knew when I met him we'd be married in Disney as he took me to Disneyland Paris in 2002 and we had the best time :) He never got to go to Disney when he was a child and so he loves it even more now.

He's also a very good sport about my Princess Wedding obsession and will play along just to keep me happy. Like Skylarr, I think that's a good enough reason! :)

DH was not a big disney person when we met, though he was already a Tigger fan. Our first vacation I took him to WDW. I knew we had a good trip, but being our first vacation I really wasn't sure how much he liked the Disney part of it. On the drive home he asked when we were going back!! :cool1: That was October 2003 and we've been back 5 more times since then, 4 times in the last 20 months - thank you DFTW Annual Passes!!! He loves different things about it than I do, but at this point I think he's close to loving it as much as me!

I always knew I wanted to get married at Disney, and made that clear to him way before we got engaged. When he did propose the first thing I asked was "so we're getting married at Disney, right?" I'm sure he would have been fine if I wanted to get married somewhere else, but he was fine with Disney too!! Oh, and for our 1 week anniversary, he got me a card and thanked me for all the hard work I put in to planning our perfect wedding :lovestruc
