curious about your Disney Grooms...

In all honesty im really not too sure why my df suggested a Disney wedding as hes not a massive Disney fan, or at least he def was nt at the time of suggesting it. Knowing him he probably thought like any girl that i would love the chance to be a proper princess in Disney for the day. At the time i did nt realise that this was my dream but i do now  .

My df's been a complete star though, whatever i want ideas wise he ll go a head with. Hes always said he wants to make sure this is totally my dream day so he ll do whatever it ll take to make it that.
I feel very lucky to have him, from every detail down to my dress & ring hes said "get what you want". My ring & dress were pretty pricey so i never thought i would of gotten either let alone both, hes doing everything to make sure that our big day turns out how i ve dreamed it. I feel very lucky :lovestruc

When I first met DF he teased about my love for Disney. His mother and sister however felt the same way. Well, after our first trip to Disney together he loved it to. He loved the feeling you get when you are at Disney. Since that first trip two years ago We've gone three or four more times. I had wanted a Disney wedding long before I met him. And he is just as excited about it as I am. As is his family and mine!

My DF said I have "dark-sided" him into Disney. :darth:

He hadn't been to any Disney parks since he was like 7. He wasn't a big Disney fan, and I didn't push it.

Then one day he went to my apartment when I wasn't home and he was watching the first pirates movie... on his own volition. He was surprised he actually *liked it*. Honestly, so was I.

Then, we went to DL for one day and we got a pair of pirate Mickey ears with our names on it, and he wore his all day. He's pretty serious, so it was a big deal. Everyone in his family thinks our pictures from that day are photoshopped.:rotfl:

Then we went to WDW last year for a week and he was a goner. He loves everything with anry Donald, and he reassures me it has always been that way. He buys pins to trade off of ebay. The best part is that when we go out, he puts the tv on ToonDisney, just in case our parakeets get bored while we're gone:laughing:. And sometimes when we get back in, he will sit down and watch ToonDisney mainly "because the birds like it" (suuuuure, of course they do) and he doesn't want to turn it off for them. :lovestruc

Although DF has been to disney about 10 times more than I have (he went many times as a kid with his family), I must say I'm much more obsessed with it than he is... :) But we both want to get married there equally... maybe me a bit more! He really loves being there (who doesn't) just as much as I do, and is super excited for our wedding next may!

Tim went to Disney with me for his first time in 2003 and he loved it!!!! He loves everythinbg disney just like me thank God lol.

He was all for a disney wedding!!!!

My DF has worked at Disney for 21 years! He literally started part time when he was 16 and never left. We met there and it was just natural for us to get married there. It was never even a question. As soon as he proposed, we called DFTW the next week. What's awesome (which we just realized a few weeks ago) that our wedding date falls on his 22nd anniversary with the mouse. How cool is that?:)

DF was the initiator on the DFTW homefront. He used to go twice a year with his family growing up (timeshare) and it seems like his only happy childhood memories all stem from Disney. I had only been once when I was 12. I love it, but I wasn't obsessed or anything. Last year, DF took me down for our first trip to WDW together, I loved EVERY minute of it! I especially loved how excited he got showing me around.:goodvibes As for the wedding, I think his main motivations for suggesting it were 1) he would get an AP 2) he could get our whole family down to WDW and 3) he wanted a good reason to guilt my dad onto ToT... (he wants to fill an elevator car with people we know! lol) :stir:

I couldn't be happier. Seeing him relive years of joys and stories with such conviction, really convinced me that Disney was about to become our new hot spot!! ::yes::

And, as for me - ever since we went down together last year, I've been ACHING to get back!!! :hyper:

My hubby loves Disney just as much as I do. When we found out that they did weddings, we knew from that moment that we would be renewing our vows there!

We live in Hawaii, and could have our VR on some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, but since we are both Disney-holics ;) we both can not even dream of having our VR any where else :)

Thankfully DF is a real Disney Groom! Woo hoo! He's loved Disney since he was little.

Both his parents worked at the park and lived only about 10mi from WDW itself, so he practically grew up there. He's really into the art, imagineering, and the magic behind it. I couldn't be more thankful, lol!! :love2:

My friends always joked with me that I needed to marry someone who loved Disney just as much as I did (we never thought that it was possible but aha! it is!) While I admit I do turn the Disney Channel on when there's nothing else on TV :rolleyes1, he refuses to watch claiming that "that channel doesn't even show good, real Disney shows!".. the boy loves his classics! ;)

I didn't even need to suggest that we have a Disney wedding.. it was pretty much a given! :)

Lots of genuine Disney Grooms -- mades me proud!! :goodvibes

It's good to know that there are men in this world that don't have a problem in the imagination department!

My future husband and I met at Pleasure Island while I was on vacation with my college room mate and her boyfriend on my birthday(jan. 3rd) We had our first date at the Magic Kingdom. I left on the 5th. That is the day that we decided to try and make it work. We go back to Disney every year and this past October he proposed after the Wishes fireworks show in the spot where we met for our first date. We knew that we had to have our wedding at WDW becuase it is where we fell in love. He loves Disney and everythin about it. I am so lucky to have someone that shares the same addition :)

you all have such sweet stories!!

After reading each post I keep telling DF..."awww there are so many guys that really love Disney! why can't YOU be a REAL Disney groom???" :rotfl:

I think it's giving him a complex...:rotfl2:

He may not be a 100% disney loving groom but at least he wants to live out your dream with you :lovestruc .

I think there are some men out there who would completly dismiss the idea of a Disney wedding. :furious: Who would want a standard wedding & who would see the whole idea of a Disney wedding as a joke. Thank god none of us have a man like that :thumbsup2

Tell me about it!!!! :sad2: :furious:

It would nt kill some people to try being a bit more open minded

Its only Disney, they say it as though mentioning the word "Disney" means instant death for them:laughing:

Its as though we ve stepped off another planet!!!

Im so glad my df's got an open mind & is nt like that at all :thumbsup2

My husband and I met on a Disney game site - Virtual Magic Kingdom. Since I lived on the West coast and he lived on the East Coast, it was our main source of keeping in touch every day. (cough cough - and Dis Pm)

After a few visits back and forth we decided that two Disney/Star Wars/ computer geeks were meant for eachother.

I moved here to about 20 min from WDW and we were married last Feb in a small ceremony with family and many of our VMK friends in a 2 bdrm Villa at OKW.

Great time was had by all, and we try to make it to the Parks at least once a week:cool1:

Hello Ladies (great stories)

I will start off by saying i have a future disney groom. We have always had a love for dinsey but i have never visited until i was an adult first trip 30th b-day last year. He however went as a kid. But still we loved it just the same. Now we are planning a DCL wedding for Sept 2009 which was his idea. We knew we wanted something different & we knew we did not want a local wedding so the next BEST thing is a DISNEY WEDDING YEAH!!!!!:worship:

My DH and I are both Disney Freaks! I think we would move down there RIGHT NOW if it was in any way possible, haha! I'm glad that he understands my Disney obsession though, when I randomly break into a Disney song, he sings the next line instead of looking at me like I grew another head or something!

My DF says FL is overrated. I showed him pics of what a disney wedding is like and he was sold on it. We would end up spending a bunch at home for a wedding as we would end up with a bar and a dj. Our thoughts are why spend that much for the same ol standard wedding when we can pay a little bit more and have a WS wedding and dessert party. I would much rather get married in my fav place, see fireworks and have an incredible experience than pay for 100 of our "closest" friends and family to get a buzz with some dj....LOL
