With the unceremonious demise of the Wishes FP+ area, I'm thinking of getting a spot for CtM and then heading to Fantasyland for rides instead of staying for Wishes. I suspect there are few, if any, spots that will be good for watching CtM that won't already be occupied by guests staking out spots for MSEP and/or Wishes. If that's the case we may just skip the nighttime shows altogether. However, I will be monitoring the DIS to see what others are experiencing in the FP areas without FPs. Any suggestions or thoughts?

Watch CtM from the northwest corner of the Hub. (Near or on the bridge to Liberty Square.)

That area is less busy because it is known as being not a good Wishes spot, due to trees blocking the major fireworks, but it can be just fine for seeing CtM.

Likewise, standing between the "Partners" statue and the Castle forecourt stage.
It is too close to the castle for Wishes, but CtM would be HUGE from there.

Somehow I knew you would have the answer. Thanks. :thumbsup2

When you say HUGE, do you mean the quality of experience or just the size in our field of vision?

Just reread this. Did you mean NW corner?

One more question (I'm in Columbo mode) -- will any routes back to FL be closed off? Thinking of making a 7dmt FP for that time.

I'm not sure that the center of the castle (over the drawbridge) will be open or closed at that point.
But… you WILL be able to get to Fantasyland via the outside (NW) walkway, accessed by passing by the order windows of Sleepy Hollow restaurant (on its east side.)
All other Hub "bridges" will be open, too.

(Now, put out that cigar, Lieutenant.)

We watched Celebrate the Magic from the bridge on the right side of the castle (kind of across from the side entrance to Cosmic Rays). It wasn't very crowded in that area and we still saw all the projections on the side of the castle. We got there maybe 5 minutes before the show started. We stayed there and watched some of Wishes (we couldn't see a lot of it) but then it was an easy stroll to SDMT. The wait time for SDMT was still very high during CtM and Wishes, but we had a FP.

This is great information. I suspect we may be in the same boat as to wanting to see CtM and then choosing rides over Wishes. Thanks!!

May I ask what you mean by the demise of the FP+ area? Did something change? We have a FP for Wishes this Wednesday!

It will still be in use until mid-April.
After that, no more Wishes FP+.
(We don't know if it will ever return.)

Any word on why they decided to cancel doing Wishes FP+ area? Is that all related to the cuts they are taking in many areas due to the financial problems with Shangai? Or was it just not working well?
