Anyone had any recent experiences with CSR/WL and food allergies....my son is 2 and anaphylactic to eggs, oats, kiwi, peanuts/treenuts, fish and shellfish. The first two being the worst and cannot even tolerate trace amts.Stayed at AKL last year and no troubles with that resort or anywhere else for that matter!Hoping for the same experience again and my choice of resort will depend on his safety.

I would worry about CSR but not worry about WL.

Potential problem is Maya Grill and Pepper Mart are operated by the same people who run San Angel; they are not as tightly controlled as the Disney owned and operated locations.

I hate to say this but CSR is a resort that we'll never stay at with our kids (they're the ones with the food allergies) because the restaurants, both CS and TS, are not owned by Disney as Cheshire_Figment said. We did eat once at Maya Grill and the chef did understand about food allergies and tool all the right precautions, but they just don't have the alertnative foods that the Disney owned restaurants have. I'm not sure there would be enough options to eat and we do eat at our resort at least once every day. I'd love to try it one day but definitely not unless we go without our kids.

thanks!I did not know that CSR restaurants were not run by disney.....big help.Anyone know about CBR then?

CSR is the only Disney resort where the restaurants are not owned and operated by Disney. CBR would be fine as would any other Disney resort besides CSR.

We have stayed at CBR and my son has multiple alleriges including fish, shellfish ,dairy and peanuts, tree nuts. If you do counter service just ask for a manager and they will prepare your childs meal safely. Never had one issue. They do have divvies there if those are safe for your child. They were in the grab and go market but you can use them as a dessert if on the dining plan. Shutters was fine for us as well.

I stayed at WL in February and had some good experiences--though I would not recommend staying club level with some allergies (gluten and dairy was pretty hard there). Otherwise, I had great luck at Roaring Forks, Artist Point, and Whispering Canyon Cafe. I would not stay at CSR for the reasons others have stated.

Divies and those lovely French Meadow brownies are available at WL:thumbsup2 We stop into Roaring Forks often for lunch.

A word to the wise, RF does offer cookie decorating for the children. The cookies are not allergen safe. So we usually take our food outside to eat (so we don't have to watch other kids decorating)
