We've 2 full weekend days, staying at SL so we do benefit from EMH, mornings both days, not sure whether that's going to work for us though. Last time I had to get Goofy to call back so many times that I warned them if they didn't get out of bed he'd be coming in person to drag them out. My point is really we don't want to waste any of our precious park time so.................................................................................................

Do we bother with Crush's Coaster?
I haven't read a lot of reviews and when I have it's been 90 minute waits, ride broken down, etc. But what bothers me is the spinning thing, baring in mind that I loathe the Teacups, does it spin constantly and how fast ? I'm not worried about the drop, I know it's bigger than the one in POTC, but I wouldn't really class that as a drop, I'm not a complete wuss.

If I was scoring the coasters for scariness I'd give
BTM 5/10
RnR 8/10
IJones 6/10
SM :lmao: I'm not that brave

Where would Crush fit in my scoring chart ?
Is it worth the wait ?

I was very disappointed to be honest. The dark ride bit was way too short and I didn't see any of the sharks. I nearly missed the jelly-fish too. The effects in the coaster part of the ride were very poor in my opinion. It's supposed to feel like your being taken by the East-Australian-Current but the track is far too visable to complete the illusion.

Maybe my disappointment stems from the fact that I had to wait 90mins to get on it. By the time I got off I guess I just felt it wasn't worth it. I'd go on it again if the wait wasn't so long.

I know that most people rave about it so maybe I'm too just fussy! I love roller-coasters but feel this ride would be better if there was less coaster and more dark-ride.

We loved it and found it very hard to describe the ride so actually used a similar comparison with BTM and RnR and Crush being somewhere in the middle.
When DP came off she felt it was closer to RnR than BTM except it does not go upside down :)

Thanks both, I think we'll have to wait and see what waiting times are reported once the hols are over, I honestly can't see me waiting 90 minutes, I think Jamie and I would like it, although I'm still not sure about the spinning car, Liam I'm not sure about, he loves BTM his record is 5 times in a row, more than me, but he didn't like RnR although he says it's because the music was too loud.

Anyone else ridden Crush ?

I'm the same as you Jill, there's no way I'm waiting 90 minutes for this. We'll see what the queue is like and if it's too bad the ride will have to wait until another trip.

i go next week and am hoping i can race straight on it on our second morning lol

Good luck :thumbsup2 hopefully it will be quieter now everyone is back at school and you will get on it quite quickly.

I've heard good things about it, but I've heard that the wait can go over 120 minutes!
Why Disney hasn't introduced fast passes for it is beyond me, they really should!

I personally am doubtful about going in Crush, I LOVE Big Thunder Mountain, but anything beyond a rollercoaster like that would make me ill :(
(BTM is the only rollercoaster I can do in the park). Spinning however, is fine. Just as long as it doesn't take high dives or loopings.
Does it take high dives or loopings?

I went to Disney a couple of weeks ago, and ended up going on Crush twice :thumbsup2 and both times with quite a long wait to get on. Wait time was 90 mins the first time, then went at opening time the next day and still waited 60 mins... but that is because the gate opening hours were changed without notice to prevent masses of people waiting to get in all rushing at the same time to get on crush (Stampeeeed !! :rotfl2: )
I must admit that the dark ride part of the attraction is pretty poor as there is not really that much to see. It's even worse if you get on the ride facing backwards as you don't get much of an opportunity to see the effects. However, the second part of the ride where the dark ride finishes is really what made it for me as the cart accellerates quite a lot and spins in all directions at the same time. So to compare it to BTM: Not so good themeing, but if you like BTM ride when it accelerates at the end and suddenly goes under the river then its sort of like that with the spinning added, which does give quite a weird sensation I must say.. :goodvibes

We rode crush last week at opening time, this is how we minimised our wait :-

Park opening time was posted as 10.00am so we got to the turnstiles by 9.15 and were one of the first in the queue. When they opened at 9.30 we dashed across to crush and were in the first dozen people to reach the the ride where a CM lead us into the queue and we kept moving along in stages until at 10.00 they opened the ride building and we were allowed inside to ride. We were out by 10.05 when the queue had already built to 2 hours

I can't see any other way of waiting any less :)

Wow that's quite bad!
I think I'll give Crush a pass in that case O_o
I don't want to ride it that bad to go wait out for 45 minutes just to not have to wait that long :)

Like I've said before (other threads) it NEEDS a FastPass.

The Tower of Terror will be a nightmare for months as it's quite a slow loader.

maybe with the opening of all the new stuff in WDS (2 attractions this yr and two next yr) they will bring back fastpass for the WDS as it was suspended a few yrs ago and has never returned. my theory is that they want to keep th crownds in to get attendance up at WDS, THEN they will re-instate FP.
D.

Flying Carpets over Agrabah had FP last year. We used them. I'm sure of it...

Absolutely, I remember the fast pass boxes being there in June 2006. I didn't ride it with a FP though, as it was late in the afternoon (past 5 pm) and it was only a 5 minute wait then.
I *think* (but I'm not sure) that Aerosmith coaster has FP too.

Here is Crush before all the layers got added :)
Let's you see the banks of the tracks.

We were chatting to the CM who was leading the Crush queue and he told us there are no plans to add FP to Crush. The ride capacity (800 seats per hour) wasn't thought to be sufficent to cope with it.

I went to Disney Studios last week. The Crush's Coaster was at 110 minutes pretty much all the time.

There were fastpasses for Carpets and Aerosmith. I got stuck on Aerosmith. After a ten minute wait we herded out the back, five minutes before the parade. I saw Woody without his head on , smoking a ***. Kinda destroyed some of the Disney Magic for me!
