Excuse for not posting yesterday but I've been partying over in DoeWDW's journal. LOL. I'm tending bar right now.

Yesterday was a 4 sunny day. I exercised (Cathe's Body Fusion workout) but I cheated a little on my eating. We went out to dinner (again) but this time it was for DH's & DS's birthdays. Today is their birthdays but I had a feeling I wouldn't be able to go out with them tonight so we went out last night.

I was right. It looks like I may have to work late. I used to work on-call but now I'm part-time (a minimum of 25 hours per week). When our projects are due & we're busy, I usually work a lot. Earlier in the year I was putting in 60-80 hours a week but since I'm non-exempt again, I get paid for the overtime.

So we went to one of DH's favorite restaurants again and I had a chicken salad (should have ordered the house salad instead), charbroiled fish, and eggplant. This was the first time that I've tried the eggplant and it was delicious.

I STILL haven't received my Firm dvds from firmdirect.com so I'm a bit peeved. I saw on videofitness.com that goodtimes (the company who does all the distribution, etc) is known for having lousy customer service. I looked at the BBB site and Goodtimes Entertainment has an UNSATISFACTORY rating!! Uggh.

So far I've been eating OP today. A carb control yogurt with some blueberries and granola for breakfast. Apple for snack. 1/2 of a Smart Ones dinner, shrimp, and spinach salad for lunch. Hopefully the rest of the day goes well. I need to go to the grocery store again. I'm running out of fruit and other stuff........

I've taken my vitamins for the day.

I weighed in at 135.6 this morning (a .8 gain since Monday) but oh well I'm not going to worry about it. I really need to watch my "cheating". Even though I'm sticking to my activity points & flex points, I know that I won't make any progress unless I'm really strict with myself. I find that I do best when I do WW points but stick to SBD principles. I really gotta stay away from rice, bread, refined carbs.

Today is the start of a new week for my so my goals for this week are:
1) 30 APs for the week
2) Only 1 snack a day (either Oreo thin crisps, slim-a-bear, or a pria bar - not all 3 in 1 day)
3) 350 minutes of exercise (since I started the challenge I just gotta meet my goal)
4) Go to yoga class next Wednesday
5) Remember to take my vitamins EVERY DAY
 
Hey, Rae Ann. Well, it was great that you gave blood. I was not able to last time b/c I was anemic. But I think my iron is good again so maybe next time I will be able to. I think your goals for this week are great. I am sure you will succeed. And I know what you mean about doing WW but doing SBD principles. I also do that to some extent. I do eat carbs but I have to really limit them b/c I am so addicted to them and always end up feeling hungrier after eating them. I try to stick w/whole wheat carbs for the most part now. Sorry you gained, but it wasn't much and as much as you exercise, it was probably muscle, so I would not worry about it too much. Well, good luck this weekend!

Which I have to thank you for. I am sure I will meet & maybe exceed my goal.

You are an inspiration to us that want to be couch potatoes. I love your energy & drive..

Rae Ann...your goals sound great! And like Tasha said...with all that exercise, you're probably gaining muscle!

I purchased my Firm workout stuff from Target. They have the entire kit...I don't know what the difference in price is, but sometimes I would rather buy it at the store instead of waiting for shipping! I have no patience waiting for stuff to be delivered! I want it when I pay for it.

I don't know if you saw it, but on the 1000 minute challenge I want to change my minutes to 1250! There are so many posts over there I can see how you missed it! Thanks again for keeping that challenge updated!

Gail - I updated your goal minutes on my computer so it'll show up with the next update. I think you should be glad you bought your kit at Target, I wish I had because they messed up my order & I still haven't received 6 of the dvds that I ordered. I think you'll enjoy the firm. I like the cardio type workouts and I'm slowly getting better with the weight training.

Today has been a 3 sunny day 'cause I REALLY over ate today. But I'm happy. I had to work today & they ordered in lunch for everyone. BBQ type food - bbq beef, pork, chicken, biscuits, beans, cole slaw, and PIE!! I had little slivers of all 3 types of pie - key lime, pecan, & sweet potato. I know I should have eaten the chicken but I didn't want to get too messy with the bbq sauce so I had some of the beef & pork. I bet the bosses wouldn't like bbq sauce over everything!

My sister in law finally gave me back my Reebok step so I did the Cathe Step Jam and part of the Cathe body fusion. Whew - she's a tough instructor.

I still haven't gone to the market. MmMM I love all the summer fruits.

I know how tempting it is to overeat at work. My company has declared every Tues. and Thurs. in Aug. a fund raiser day for an angel fund. The accounting dept. (where I work) decided to bring food to sell for $1 a plate on those days. It usually looks delicious. I did well w/ resisting it last week but I still have tomorrow and Thurs. of this week and then 2-3 more weeks to get through. Don't feel bad, I am sure you more than worked off anything you ate. ;)
 
Rae Ann, that is so hard when they bring in food at work! I know it was a real downfall of mine! Don't feel too bad about it, that's a temptation that is incredibly hard to resist!

Sounds like you had a fab workout today! I saw on the exercise thread that you have Power 90 Extreme, how do you like it? I've read many reviews saying that the Slim In 6 program (which I have) was way harder than the original Power 90 but I haven't really heard any comparisons on P90X. I guess I should go over to the beach body boards and see what's happening. I haven't been there in forever. Not that I need anything tougher, I still huff and puff through SI6. :rolleyes:
 
It's been a bad 3 days... I have had no control since Saturday because we've been stuck at work & they've been bringing in food to eat. Yesterday was Mexican food - enchiladas, tacos, rice, beans, etc. Today they brought in Quizno's sandwiches. It wouldn't have been so bad if I had brought in my own meals but I still haven't had a chance to go to the market. I can ask DH to go to the market for some things but I have to make him a list & I really don't trust him to pick out good produce. Tomorrow's a new day & I'll start watching what I eat again.

I did Cathe Body Fusion and P90X AbRipper today. I was dripping with sweat when I was done.

Michelle - from what I've read at videofitness.com, P90X is a lot harder than Power 90. I have to modify a lot of the exercises or I just wouldn't be able to finish the workouts. I haven't tried to do any of the weight lifting workouts. I'm trying to ease my way into doing the cardio sections first.
 
Sorry to hear about all that temptation at work. It's so hard to pass up when it's brought to you! But you are still keeping the exercising going strong! You should feel good about that! Keep it up!

Rae Ann, you're doing the best you can! It sounds like you are working your butt off with exercise so I wouldn't sweat those few high fat/calorie meals. You already made up your mind to get right back on track and with those workouts I bet you will pull out a loss this week! :)

Thanks for the info on P90X, I had a feeling it was going to be WAY intense! Beach Body puts out some great workouts. I'm thinking about getting some more to add some variety to my days. SI6 is an awesome program but even though there are 3 tapes, there are a lot of the same exercises on each one so it gets kind of boring after awhile.

As far as the angel fund at work, feel free to contribute a dollar and walk away WITHOUT the food! :p Can't tell you how many times I've done that - always leaves the fundraisers confused but happy. :crazy: :teeth:

You are doing a great job with the exercise, so endulging in a couple of lunches shouldn't hurt too much. Just don't make it a habit. Keep up the great exercise.

Thanks everyone for visiting my journal.

I finally made it over to Trader Joes yesterday and got fruit, shrimp, eggs, and some other things. They had a sample of caprese salad (tomatoes, basil, shallots, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, mozzarella, oregano, salt, pepper & garlic powder) - very delicious. I think I'll have to make that salad sometime. I like shopping at Trader Joe's but I can't get all of my grocery shopping done there. I'll have to go the market today to get everything else we eat.

Food: Breakfast - hard boiled egg, carb control yogurt (4 oz), blueberries.
Lunch - salad with oranges, feta cheese, dill, fennel, shrimp, and a pizza thing that I got from Trader Joes. The "pizzas" are made with thin crust - sort of like half of a pita - but they just have a little sauce on them, no cheese, meats, etc.
Snack - half an apple, popcorn

I feel better 'cause I'm back to eating healthier.

Exercise: Last night I did the P90x Kenpo and part of the P90x Core Synergistics. The Kenpo seemed like more of an upper body workout than Taebo.

Goals: When I look back at the goals I set for this week, I haven't met any of them. I'll keep the same goals for next week but I'll probably be able to meet them since I won't have to work the weekend.
 
Well I exercised too late last night so I had a little trouble sleeping. I started doing Cathe's Step Heat workout at 9 so I finished around 10 oclock last night. I would have done my exercise earlier but my cousin came by to pick up my son (he's spending the night there).

My DD was still up at the beginning of my workout so she tried exercising with me again. It's all fun to her. She's yelling out "Woo!" and "Hop turn now!" while I'm stepping away. Sometimes she even counts with Cathe - 6, 5, 4, 3, 2... "Come on you can DO it!" I finally had to tell DH to put her to bed because I'd start laughing everytime she'd say something new.

Uggh I weighed in this morning. I've gained a pound back. I'm still ahead of where I started so I'm still doing good.

I'm excited 'cause I'm supposed to get the Cathe videos that I ordered from her site today. I won the 2 dvds that I have now from eBay but I decided to order one of the package deals from her site because by the time I win all the Cathe auctions & pay for shipping individually, I wouldn't be saving too much $$ from eBay. I asked DH if it was okay to order (because Cathe videos are more expensive than other fitness videos) and he said it was fine because "they're an investment in your health". He also told me to auction off any dvds that I won't be using much. Okay. That's a deal.
 
Too funny about your DD! That's so cute. Don't worry about that pound...you'll work it off...I'm sure!!

You're doing great! I've never heard of the Cathe Step videos. I'll have to check out her site.

I can't exercise with DD for the same reason. That and she always seems to be right in front of me whenever I need to do a kick. Keep up the good work and that pound will melt away.
