CruisingCA is back to WISHing....

I'm a happy happy WISHer today! I am only 1 1/2 pounds away from my 10 pound clippie. Since July 4th I've lost 1 1/2 inches from my waist, 2 inches from my hips and 1 inch from each of my thighs.

Food: I've switched over to the new WW Core Plan today. I think it'll be easier for me and I'll be able to follow the SBD diet a little better. My whole wheat bagels & tortillas aren't considered "core" foods but at 1 point each I can afford to have them once in a while. I still get to earn activity points so hopefully I won't have to dip too much into my 35 allotted points for the week.

B: Oatmeal
L: Salad with mozarella, tomatoes, and left over catfish
S: Egg
S: Cafe Twist
D: Green salad, clam chowder, chicken
S: Soy & flaxseed tortilla chips & salsa

This morning: Sweet Wheat Bagel, egg, turkey bacon, cottage cheese, mandarin oranges

Exercise: Yesterday I did part of the Rhythmic Step video but it's a challenge choreographically for me so I stopped & did the cardio part of Timesaver #3, and then Timesaver #5 (legs & glutes). Before we went to the aquarium we got in a walk & a short run.

Other stuff: Last night we went to the aquarium for the New Members night. We had a great time. The kids were able to enjoy the exhibits without a crowd. DS had a grand time petting the sharks and sting rays. DD tried to pet them also but she was a little scared of them. I did have DS take a pic of me & DD so I can post one here. LOL - no makeup but who cares!

July: I started out with 3 pound weights when I first started exercising again (2 months ago) then I could do 5 pound for biceps. I'm gradually getting stronger so now I can do 5 pounds for some of the exercises & 8 pounds for biceps.

What a great feeling to be so close to the 10 lb mark! You must be feeling on top of the world! And to lose all those inches. You are such a motivator! You're doing great.

Sounds like you had a great time at the aquarium.

Keep up the great work!

Rae Ann,

I am so impressed with your committment to exercise, and you are getting great results. Congrats on all those inches lost. It also sounds like you have found a program to work for you. That is great. Keep up the great work.
Beth

I'd say it's been 4 sunny days since I've last posted. I've been doing great with the exercise but should be doing a lot better with eating. I won't go into details but I've had dessert every day for the past 3 days and I'm not talking 'bout low cal/diet desserts.

I love the jarred bruschetta sauce from Trader Joe's. Tonight I had it with a Vegan Boca Burger. For lunch I had it with grilled chicken. Yum. It's 25 calories for 2 Tbsp but all the ingredients are on the WW core diet. I'm really surprised that the Boca burger tastes pretty good. It was easy to prepare too. I just threw it in a skillet with a little olive oil.

Ohhh!! I almost forgot! I reached my August exercise goal today. :Pinkbounc :bounce:

I hope you'll join the September exercise challenge.

:flower1: YOU GO, GIRL!!! :flower1:

Congratulations on meeting your exercise challenge for the month!! You're obviously seeing the results of all that hard work - those inches are melting away!!

I've let my exercise slip, so I'm off to calculate how many minutes per day I need to do to make my challenge goal. This challenge has been a great motivator for me - thanks for all your hard work in creating clippies, keeping track, etc. :flower3:

Hope you have a wonderful day! :sunny:

Hi RaeAnn,

CONGRATS ON MEETING YOUR EXERCISE GOAL!

That is awesome. Keep up the great work.
Beth

Don't stop now - you are headed in a positive direction::yes:: ::yes::

Thanks for the tip on the brushetta sauce from Trader Joe's - sounds YUMMY:D :D

Have a Disney Day!!::MickeyMo

Way to go Rae Ann...You exercise fanatic!!!!

I tried the sugar free jello's...they are pretty good! But not as tasty as one of those non-cal desserts!

You're doing great....you're so close to the 10 lb mark!! Keep it up!

Thanks for all the support!!

I've been having a 3 sunny weekend so far. I'm happy and everythings going well but I haven't really been watching what I eat & I haven't exercised yet. It's definitely time to go to the supermarket again. When I start running low on healthy foods & snacks, I start eating the other stuff we have around the house.

Nothing too extraordinary to report, we've just been busy trying to get ready for the new school year.

Hey, Rae Ann! It's been a while since I have posted but I wanted to congratulate you on meeting your exercise goal. Of course I always knew you would! Good luck w/the new school year!

Hi Rae Ann,

Are your kids starting tomorrow? I hope everything goes smoothly. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday.
Beth

Wow I didn't realize it had been so long since I updated my journal.

Exercise: I've been putting in my exercise this week. For some reason, I haven't been as enthusiastic about exercising but I've still been managing to get my minutes in. Last night I did half of Cathe's Interval Max then did one of her upper body workouts. Tonight I'll try to do some lower body work in addition to cardio. I haven't been doing much yoga lately. I'm not flexible at all and it's a little discouraging.

Food: I've been staying mostly on plan the past few days. I finally got my Weight Watchers at Home material yesterday. It'll take me a while to get through all of that stuff.
Breakfast: oatmeal, hard boiled egg (that I dropped twice), and an apple

Other Stuff: My mom called me this morning & wants me to go home in 2 weeks for a quick weekend trip. So I've been looking for flights to Honolulu this morning for my daughter & I. It looks like we'll pay for one way tickets from Los Angeles to Honolulu but we'll use frequent flier miles on the return trip. I've got the trip to Honolulu on hold but I'll have to wait for her to transfer miles into my account to make the reservations for the return flight. It's my grandfather's 86th birthday and my aunt & uncle's surprise 25th anniversary party. They're the ones who will be guardians of my kids & executors of our will if anything should happen to us. It should be a nice party, I believe there are 80 people invited to the party.

DS started school on Monday. He has the infamous strict 3rd grade teacher but since there is only one class per grade (he goes to a private school), we're stuck with her. It'll be a good kick in the butt for him, it'll be good for him to learn how to pay attention to the little details and to use his time efficiently. I took him to the bookstore last night because he needed a Beverly Cleary book. I loved reading her books as a child and it's exciting to see him reading some of the books I used to read. He needed any Beverly Cleary book except "Ramona Quimby, Age 8". That was the only Beverly Cleary book we had at home so I told him that he could pick another one. He ended up getting 2 books, one of the Henry Huggins books and the Otis Spofford book.

Hi there,

Great job with the exercise. You are going to do the Core program, right? Good luck getting through the materials.

I loved the Beverly Cleary books when I was a kid.

Have a great afternoon,
Beth

Rae Ann, it is wonderful that you are pushing through the lack of enthusiasm and getting those workouts in! Hopefully it will get easier as you keep on pushing!

I hope your son enjoys his books. I absolutely adored Beverly Cleary as a child. I still have all of my Ramona books! :teeth:

Way to go working through those workouts. I know there are days that I feel like I'm not giving 100%...but honestly feel so much better afterward.

I love Beverly Cleary books! I still read them...Fudge and the rest of his series are my favs! I love the Junie B Jones books(not Bev. Clear)...I know, I'm silly...but the kids would get them and they bring back memories. I also get to read them to the kids when I'm subbing!

I keep forgetting you're in California! How long of a flight is it to Hawaii for you?

Keep up the great job! I know the routine can get boring...but hang in there!

Gail

RAE ANN WAY TO GO!!!:thewave: :thewave:

Your motivation to push through when you are not enthused is enough to want me to get up early tomorrow morning and get my exercise in before I do "battle" with the 1st grade darlings - Two more days to go!!!

I am have been subbing for 5 years and kids love Beverly Cleary books.........They are classics amongst the grade school set.

Enjoy your Thursday!!:sunny: :sunny:

Have a Disney Day!!::MickeyMo

Great job sticking to your plan. Your making me want to excersise now. Keep it up and don't forget to smile.

Kristin

I had my tubal done this morning. Everything went fine and I'm feeling really good right now. I swear anesthesia is the weirdest feeling in the world. I saw him inject the medication into my IV then all of a sudden I felt like closing my eyes. I felt a little groggy when I woke up and the first thing I did was check to see where the incisions were. I have two small bandaids.

Exercise: I didn't do any exercise today (of course!) but I did an "extra" workout last night. Yesterday I tried to do my Keli Robert's Step workout but I stopped after 15 minutes of it because the step routines didn't seem intense enough. I ended up doing Cathe's Step Blast, all 55 minutes of it, then I did 45 minutes of weight training. I followed Cathe's Maximum Intensity Strength but omitted the legs & glutes exercises. I played the dvd on my laptop while DH watched tv. I like to do weights when he's around so he can give me pointers and correct my form. I told him that he should join me on one of Cathe's weightlifting workouts and he said, "one of these days". He did say that he likes the different exercises that Cathe does and that she's "one tough lady."

I'm so impressed to see so many exercise challengers posting a lot of minutes. I'm sure we'll be seeing a lot more people reaching their goals this month.

Hi Rae Ann,

Thanks for your support.

I'm glad the procedure went well, and you aren't having much pain. Take care of yourself, and don't push yourself too hard, ok?

Have a good weekend.
Beth
