Vital- Hi there! Have fun when you suprise him! We kept it a secret for our kids ds8 dd4. It was great suprising them! We have been home almost a week and my ds is still hugging me telling me he loves me and thanks for the suprise! He said its his favorite vacation ever!

Part 4 Day 1 Continued:

We finally head down to our cabin around 2ish and have no trouble getting in! We meet Jonathan from the Philippines who was wonderful all week. First order of business…decorate the door! SHOOT, no bags yet! It would have to wait!!
I am amazed at the size of the room! (Keep in mind, my last cruise just this past November on RC was on one of their oldest ships. I cruised with my DBF and her DS….the room was SMALL! Let’s just say we couldn’t go anywhere in that cabin without our butts rubbin!!). The kids investigate every nook and cranny of the room. DS opens the shower room door and exclaims “MOM! I lub the shub!!” See, he listens to me too! I borrowed Fatherforce’s (or was it RoyalVizier’s) term…and it fits! I think DCL should re-name it!!
The safety drill goes as well as can be expected…then off to the Sailaway party we go! I am totally in the moment…..I am boppin and singing and just to top it off….some tears are a flowin! (say it with me now, MA-OM! STOP IT…YOUR EMBARRASSING ME! Only this time I think it was DH complaining!!)
Did I mention it was cold??
Yeah, Orlando that day was a bit cloudy, drizzly and COLD! Not sure of the exact temperature but we were chilly….hard to hold the drink of the day steady if you know what I mean. I point out to DH multiple times that the warmth and love from our matching, personalized sweatshirts are all we need to keep us warm! I think he actually grunted at me then…not sure!!
We wander around until it gets time to get ready for dinner! All but one bag has arrived! I have time to unpack,decorate the door (see picture in previous post!) and stow the bags under the bed – AWESOME DIS TIP!! We have 8:15pm seating with the rotation plaplap (or as I like to refer to as Plap-Plap). Late dinner worked well for us. The kids were a tad tired and grumpy on the first night..but then again so was I! After that night things were fine. The kids would order room service or have something by the pool around 5ish and they would last until dinner. We have table #22 and I have to say, I was initially disappointed to find out we had a table for just our family. I have always shared a table in my previous non-Disney cruises and have luckily always had great table mates. I was really torn that first night but honestly we really enjoyed the alone time! And depending on the restaurant, there were nights that our table was close to someone else’s table and we enjoyed some lively conversation!
Subhash (from India) and Diana (from Germany) were our servers. Although we didn’t get any of the “wow” service we have read about on the boards, they were wonderful! They went out of their way to make the kids happy and were super sweet! We only got one Mickey Ketchup Head all week, and although we skipped dessert often (NO FLAMES OKAY! I am a HUGE dessert Gal….but after noshing all day and the big dinner I usually couldn’t do it!) we never got our plate of “Nothing”. Not a problem….loved them both and would welcome them again on our next cruise…..WHAT’S THAT YOU SAY….YOUR NEXT CRUISE…..HMMMMMM!!)
Okay, big excitement here! After dinner we head back to the room and………..GO TO BED! I’d like to say this was the exception this trip, but it was quite a common occurrence!

Okay at this point in my report, I’d like to take a small break and share with you a few words from the sponsor! ME!
THINGS I TOOK THAT I COULDN’T LIVE WITHOUT
1. OVER THE DOOR BAG
2. LARGE ENVELOPES FOR STORING NAVIGATORS AND OTHER PAPERS
3. NOTE PAD FOR KEEPING NOTES
4. COLLAPSIBLE HAMPER THINGY
5. SMALL FLASHLIGHT OR CLOCK WITH LIGHT

STUFF I NEVER USED OR DIDN’T FEEL I NEEDED
1. 12 bottles of water….used them once. Tap water was fine! Next time (oh..there she goes again…NEXT TIME! I wonder if she is hinting about something??) I think I would bring 2 or 3 bottles or regular water bottles to re-fill!
2. Wrinkle reducer- never used it! We sent DH and DS suits and shirts to be pressed day one (got them back the next day) and price was very reasonable!!!
3. Extension cord and outlet strip…didn’t need them! I had my own blow dryer but the one in the bathroom worked fine for me!
