Cruising with Preggos....!

I will be 20 weeks pregnant on our 3 day cruise. I also could not find a form online for my DR to complete. I only found the Special Services information form and sent that in. I also called the cruiseline to ask them if there was anything else I needed to provide or bring with me from my Dr and they said no.

Thanks for that additional information. I'll have a printout of my medical information with me, but wasn't sure (I always get one because I frequently travel for work).

Thank you for all your wonderful advice - :worship::worship:

Clearly I am a horrible mother and shouldn't even think of cruising. I'm glad I can feel safe in asking a question on this board without feeling like I'm going to be attacked.

For those of you who shared your personal experiences - I truly appreciate what you shared and what you did without being critical of my question.

You asked a loaded question, not sure what you expected? The problem is that your question:

a. asked about breaking the rules which some folks don't take to.
b. brought up a heated topic on the boards that some members are very passionate about.
c. implied doing something that could inconvenience an entire shipload of passengers if the ship had to be diverted to accommodate a medical emergency that shouldn't have happened on-board.

You can ask lots of questions here and never feel the burn from a flame but there are some topics, such as this one, that tend to draw a very heated response. The thread's contents prior to your question were a good indication of what you might run into.

:grouphug: Just take the evening off, relax and come back tomorrow...just let this thread go and take a look at some of the more tame topics. :)

I don't think anyone thinks your a horrible mother!! I think your optimistic that nothing will happen during your pregnancy, and it's great to have a positive attitude during a pregnancy. I just felt I needed to share my experience, because I never dreamed in a million years I would have the problems I did....to make it worse, I was stuck for literally weeks, in a German hospital, 2 hours away from my husband and son (Army family), because it was the closest hospital around that could keep my baby alive if he was born early. In hindsight, I'm glad I was in Germany at the time, because I don't think doctors here would have let me go that long with my water broke, and Jake would have been born even earlier than he was.

Incidently.... :goodvibes my scrawny 4lb baby boy, is now just-turned 17 and is 6'3", 210 pounds!! He's excelled in school, and never had any learning disabilities that are common in premies. He's my little miracle baby!

That being said, I CANNOT find where she needs to fill out a form and send it in. I've found and filled out and faxed in my Special Services Information Form. And I will see the doctor on Wednesday of next week to get my final approval for travel on the cruise.
Last time we cruised I was 23+ wks pregnant. There is a medical form (I believe it is listed for you to print with your regular paperwork prior to boarding) for you to have your dr fill out and sign. It's pretty basic, just asks how far along you are, if you are having a normal pregnancy etc. There is a number on the form you need to fax it to prior to sailing. I think they needed it 2 weeks or so before.

Oops sorry, they must have changed this. The last time we cruised I had to have the letter and I believe it was with all the online documents that you fill out prior to cruising.
