Has anyone ever taken a Disney Cruise over July 4th?
We are sailing on the Fantasy this weekend and will be at sea on the 4th of July.

Just wondering if Disney does anything special?

On Wonder(????) to Alaska, NOTHING, no fireworks. Something about environmental issues.

Weird thing was when we docked in Skagway(??) they asked us how the fireworks were and had to told them Disney isn't allowed to in Alaska. Guy laughed and said they did it

Oh well

There should be singing of songs in the atrium, waving of flags, and the characters come down the stairs in red, white and blue. That's about it.

We're on this cruise and packed all the patriotic outfits, but I wasn't expecting any big celebration over what lucas mentioned. Best of luck getting packed and ready, cruise is almost here!

We were on the Fantasy last year on the 4th and they had a huge celebration during the afternoon in the atrium. It was decked out in red, white and blue and all the characters were dressed up. They had all the singers and dancers from the shows in there singing patriotic songs and did a tribute to all the military members that were on board. It lasted about an hour and was really good! No special fireworks though...

We sailed on the Wonder back on July 4th 2002. The Sail Away Party was indoors due to lightning there was a red white and blue balloon drop. That night at dinner we had a toast in special glasses (plastic ones that we got to keep) that said "Disney Cruise Line Celebrates July 4th, 2002". The severs marched around the dining room, clapping to, I believe it was You're a Grand Old Flag. It was a nice touch, but it sounds like that is not done anymore.

We were on the Magic July 4 TH last year in Reykjavik and they had a party in the atrium, kids got face painting, streamers, decorations. several ships crew in white did a brief kick line while trying to sing ... I came in towards the end, so not sure everything involved.
