Cruise's (Chris) Accountability/Sap Journal :) (comments welcome)

8/24/05

Evening all - I'm so sorry that I haven't been able to get to anyone's journals. This week has just been so hectic and I feel bad. I will get to them this weekend. Had another training tonight - went okay and the lady that I really don't care for was even okay. Rolled her eyes a lot but I ignored her.

Did pretty good on food today. We had a building open house - all of the office in our building were open this afternoon for students and faculty/staff to go through and meet people in the offices and see where the offices were located. Each office had food. We, on my suggestion, had veggie trays which was great because I could still snack and yet be good. I had 3 carrots that had some of the veggie dip on them but I'm not counting the dip because it was just enough to have flavor. I avoided the office just down from us that had build your own sundae and the next office that had brownies (homemade yummy looking ones). I was a good girl. I even went home for lunch so I wouldn't be tempted to walk around and eat from each office. Several people in my office were surprised and proud of me that I was able to resist (there are a couple of people that I am good friends with that know I'm trying to lose and they are extremely supportive).

So my food today was:
breakfast apple crisp fruit and oatmeal bar
fat free yogurt

lunch brat no bun
1/2 cup cottage cheese

snack cheese stick
18 carrots
2 celery stalks

dinner ham steak
1/2 cup mushroom rice
1/2 cup green beans
1 reese's peanut butter cup

snack 100 cal snack pack

My totals are: 1070 cals, 36.15 fat grams, 111.55 carbs. I haven't had my snack yet and don't know which one I want. Or if I'll actually stick to that so I didn't include that in my totals. Gotta have a snack - need a small bit more amount of food. I might have some fat free yogurt. We'll see - I am hungry though.

Hope everyone is doing well - I'm going to do the Thanksgiving Challenge that Lesli is getting started - what a great idea. That's my next mini goal. I'd like to hit 25 more off by Thanksgiving. I think I can do it - TOM came and if they keep like this each month I can definitely plan for a 1 pound gain (I now don't think it was all popcorn!!!!). It just surprised me again - hitting a day early (sorry if TMI). Tomorrow night another meeting and then I'm working out on Saturday again. Going to see if I can dd to go for a walk Friday night. I'm definitely feeling the no exercise now since it's been 3 days. It's okay - we all need a break once in a while.

Talk to you all soon!!!!!
Keep on
Chris

Hey Chris!

Way to go resisting those sundaes and brownies! :cool1: You are doing a great job! Keep up the good work! :cheer2:

I wish I had your willpower! You are always so good at resisting the goodies! That is wonderful that you have so many supportive people around you, I bet it really does help you stay on track.

Keep it up, you are really doing great!

Chris -- You are my hero! What amazing willpower. I hope you are proud of yourself! You should be

Have a great day, kiddo!

I'm glad the test results were so good. I'm thinking of the thanksgiving challenge too, but just trying to finish the Summer II one now. I'm at 5/15 so not where I wanted to be, but at least somewhere. :flower:

Hi Chris!

Sounds like you are just as busy as me this week! LOL Glad to hear you are doing well with it all (including Girl Scout training and those sundaes down the hall!!) and I like that you are setting incentives for yourself & DD. I do hope that you get some down time soon!

Have a happy & healthy night!
Mike :)

Thanks everyone! Another busy day today. One more week and it's Labor Day weekend and some relaxation (going camping for the long weekend and I can't wait!!!!). Trainings are done for a month now, training meeting was quick, now I have to concentrate on some Habitat stuff and then after next week it's all a breeze!!!! This weekend is our town CornFest and I'm serving corn from 11-1 on Saturday (so anyone in the area come see me and get some free sweet corn!!!) then have a family wedding to go to. I can't wait to see how my outfit fits me. I do have a backup if it's too big, which I think it will be. We'll see.

TOM is taking it's toll on my but I'm trying to really be good. I ate too many fats today but I'm not going to worry about it because it was food full of veggies to hopefully help counterbalance. I can't wait till this one is over - it's been a killer on me. Sometimes I REALLY hate being a woman!!!!

Okay so today's food:

breakfast fat free yogurt

lunch Culver's Grilled Chicken Cashew Salad
Ranch Dressing

snack 4 celery sticks
100 cal snack - wheat thins

dinner Subway Oven Roasted Chicken Breast
Hunts Fat Free Tapioca pudding

Totals: 1389 cals, 65.1 fat grams, 132 carbs

Most of the fat grams were in the cashews and the salad dressing but it was good food and it was a lot of veggies. Not having a snack tonight, not really hungry actually. Although I really want some chocolate so I might have a fat free fudgesicle.

I didn't resist something today but I was good - someone poured M&M's out into a bowl in the lunchroom, just down from my office, and I went in to get my water (of which I got in 56 ounces today) and I grabbed some - 2 regular and 1 peanut. Oh it was so good and it helped with my sweet tooth. We had leftover veggies in the frig from yesterday's open house so my next trip in to grab M&M's I grabbed celery instead - 4 stalks worth!!!! Then I ate some 100 cal Wheat Thins to curb my craving and that helped some. But I still want some chocolate. It's that darned TOM thing!!!!!!

Tomorrow is Friday and going to be a rough 7.5 hours of work. But it's Friday so that's a good thing!!!! :) Everyone have a good night and a good day tomorrow if I don't see you all.

Keep on
Chris

Wow, I can't believe you could stop at 3 M&M's!!! Good for you! For me it's all or nothing - I would have been putting the M&M's into the celery if I had eaten a single one...

I hope your wedding outfit is too big! :flower:

Hi Chris!

Hope you had a great Friday and there were no more M&M's tempting you. You did great just having 3 though, great job!

Hello all - what a day. I'm so glad it was Friday and then got home and thought it was only Thursday - I didn't need this week to go any longer than it did!!!!!!!

The M&M's were still there this morning but I stayed away (there were there yesterday too and I had 1. We had leftover veggies so I grabbed the celery again. Today the M&M's were gone early and I brought the remaining celery home with me. Still a few days until payday and I'm in need of some veggies!!!!

I got my first compliment today - I was so excited. We had a secretaries meeting this afternoon and one of my secretaries came in to me after the meeting and told me that she really noticed in the meeting how good I'm starting to look. She said I looked so much more comfortable in the chair that I was sitting in than I did the last meeting we had (back in the early spring). I was so excited that someone finally noticed!!!!! That felt really good. I'm actually very excited to try my outfit on tomorrow night. I've decided I'm not going to wear it though because the other outfit I have will also be a bit big now but it's very bright and fun. Trust me, it's going to need to be for this one!!!!! :)

Okay so here's what I did today - tonight we had spaghetti and it was the first time I've had any big time pasta so I was a bit worried. So I came right down and did my totals so I know how I did. I did drink 72 ounces of water today and was going a lot, which means TOM is on it's way out (at least some of the bloating anyway).

breakfast apple crisp fruit and oatmeal bar
cheese stick

lunch ham sandwich
3 pickle slices
tomato
1/2 cup cottage cheese
2 fig newtons

snack 100 cal snack - chips ahoy

dinner 6 ounces spaghetti
2 ounces meat w/ 1/4 c sauce
2 pieces italian bread
1 TBSP Brummel and Brown
2 fig newtons

Totals: 1211.5 cals, 21.05 fat grams, 191 carbs

Pretty good. And it looks like a lot of food but it really wasn't. I'm a bit hungry still, should have had more for dinner but I'm going to have a snack later. Something fat free as I did really well on the fat grams today. The other night I did end up having some fat free frozen yogurt and fat free cool whip so I might have that tonight; no toppings as that will add to my carbs.

No workout again today because TOM is not being well with me again this month, best if I don't move more than I need to. Plus I can't stay out of the bathroom long enough to make a big enough dent in working out.

Tomorrow serving corn and getting allergy shots so no workout either. Next week we will go at least 4 times. I will catch up with you all on Sunday. I'm spending a good portion of Sunday morning here. I'm gonna watch the Magic pass through the Panama Canal and catch up on journals after I read the Sunday paper and check out the coupons. Doing laundry and some other things tonight since I'm not home much tomorrow and I want Sunday to be an easy day.

Everyone have a good day tomorrow - have no clue what the food will be at the wedding, gonna have at least an ear of corn at CornFest and probably some chicken if I can find it. If not then I'll have some pizza or eat when I get home. Saving time for corn dogs for the fair in a couple of weeks!!!!!

Keep on

I wasn't going to check in this morning but I nervously got on the scale because I wanted to see how I was doing as the TOM bloat was beginning to feel like it was receeding and indeed. I'm down 2 more pounds now making that a total of 13.5 for the month 23.5 so far. I'm .5 pounds away from my wedding day weight 6 years ago and 1.5 pounds away from my first 25!!!!!! I'm feeling a new clippie coming soon!!!!!

Have a great day everyone!
Keep on

Holy smokes, Chris! That's fantastic! Congrats on the loss!!!

Have a great time at the wedding; I know you'll feel great in that new outfit. :)

Way to go Chris!!!! That is great that you are down another few pounds!!!!

Keep up the good work

Hello all - well had to report off another pound this morning - a report I'm very happy to make. I hit my first mini-goal created a few weeks ago - to hit my weight that I was when I got married 6 years ago on Sept 4 and I hit it and surpassed it this morning!!!!!! And I had another week yet to hit it. I'm so happy!!!!!! Was a bit chicken to try the wedding ring on though because my hands were a bit bloated this morning.

Okay - for the clothes. The outfit that I knew would be too big was weird. The waist on the skirt was too big - I can't wear it until I get it altered. That's a good piece. The top was still just a tad snug around the back but still loser than it was before. And that jacket was a little bit big but not huge. I did wear the second outfit. The top on that fit very nice - it was a bit snug the last time I wore it which was late spring. The pants are too big in the waist. Everytime I got up to walk I found myself holding my pants up by putting my arm at my stomach area. That I guess is good too but this is going to cost me a small fortune to have things taken in. Oh well, it will be worth it!!!!! And I'm going to have these two outfits altered because they were expensive and they are very nice outfits that I want to keep being able to wear. My lady that does my alterations is awesome so she'll do them easily. I also am now finding out that clothes that I purchased and would have normally had to be hemmed didn't because they were fine due to having the larger stomach area, now that I'm losing I'm noticing that these pants now need to be hemmed because I've lost some of that stomach area and it isn't holding the pants up from the floor!!!!! I, truthfully, never ever thought about that aspect of losing weight! Funny huh? I think so.

Okay so the wedding was okay. Didn't eat until about 8pm which was fine as I ate all my other meals a bit later. I didn't eat any appetizers that were going around the room after the ceremony because I wasn't sure what we were having for dinner and I wanted to save calories for then. Dinner was some type of pasta with a creamy, cheesy, buttery tomato sauce. I had a small amount (about 1/8th a cup) of that. They had these awesome bread "sticks" with garlic on them (no butter) that we just great. Had one of those. Then came a salad with A LOT of Italian dressing on. I hate half of it and tried to scrape as much of the dressing off as I could - there was just too much on it. Main course was lemon/butter chicken (very good) with a slight bit of bread crumbs on it, fresh green beans, and these roasted small potatoes that were cut out to look like giant mushrooms - they were so cute and sooooooo good. I had one piece of chicken, about 6 green beans that when cut up looked to be about 1/8 cup (there weren't many in the bowl and it was served family style so I wanted to make sure everyone got some), and had 3 potatoes (about 2 ounces). I skipped all desserts (they had a lot of italian desserts). They all looked good but I didn't feel like any. I have no clue how many calories I ate because I didn't feel like trying to figure them out. So I think I must have done good because I lost another pound.

Today is going okay. Have some work to do so I won't get to journals until possibly tonight. Have to prepare for my meeting on Thursday night and it's going to take me several days so I need to work on it this afternoon.

So far today I've had:
breakfast low fat chocolate chunk granola bar

snack 100 cal snack - chips ahoy

lunch 6 ounces chicken with light bbq sauce

snack almond joy

Dinner is planned as having some 6 ounce Rib Eye steaks, some type of side - probably rice, salad and tomatoes, and 1 1/2 medium sized ears of sweet corn that we picked up at the farmer's stand we like that was on our to the wedding. We also got some awesome cantaloupe and watermelon from this place and I got a couple of peaches that I can't wait to eat. I'm having one for lunch tomorrow!!!

Everyone have a great rest of the day and anyone who has friends, relatives, or lives in the southern states - you are in my utmost prayers and thoughts for your safety and theirs!!!!

Keep on
Chris

You are such an inspiration...Thank you for not giving up!! :flower:

Wow, you are doing so great! That wedding ring will be back on your finger in no time! Getting your clothes altered is WORTH it, look what you've accomplished!

I am so happy that you got such an amazing compliment. And as always you did great resisting all the wedding temptations. Keep it up, you will be at your goal before you know it!

Went to Jazzercise and hadn't been able to get there in a week. I am a bit sore but it was good. Did okay on the food today. I started counting for yesterday and then lost it. But did better today:

breakfast apple crisp fruit and oatmeal bar
fat free yogurt

lunch spaghetti - see fri night
2 cup watermelon

snack medium peach
100 cal snack - pecan sandies

dinner 5 ounces chicken
1/2 cup chicken rice
1 medium ear corn

Totals: 1222 cals, 33.8 fat grams, 190 carbs

Haven't had a snack yet tonight and I am hungry. I'm going to have some 94% fat free popcorn with a little bit of butter spray.

Tried the rings on tonight after getting home from working out and the diamond fits nice but the wedding band is just a smidge tight (my fingers are swollen, always are after working out). So I'll try it again after I get another 6 pounds off. I'm sure it will be nice then.

Everyone have a good night.
Keep on
Chris

Congrats on a great op day.

I have never tried jazzercise but it sound interesting.
