Thanks for the concern pearliq. I've been wondering that myself. I don't think I'm getting enough but by the time I realize I haven't eaten enough calories it's been later in the evening and I don't want to eat a lot at night. I had been doing that and that's when the scale wasn't moving for me. Right now though the time that I've been eating has been at work and yesterday I didn't even have time to go to the bathroom let alone eat. That's how this week goes, and next. So once I get a little less busy it will be easier for me to catch up on eating during the day.

But I got on the scale today and it didn't move again today. I was very frustrated this morning. But I know I had some foods yesterday that are salt trappers and maybe that's what did it. Still frustrating and I think I have reached my first plateau. Plus I have only been able to exercise a total of half the time I challenged myself to and I know that has a lot to do with it. UGH

Okay - on to a new day and keeping working at it. I only have 1.5 more pounds until I hit 20 and a new clippie. I CAN do this and I WILL do this!!! I know it.

Keep on
Chris

You are almost at 20 pounds!! DANCE, DANCE, DANCE!!!! I just feel like DANCING TODAY!! :dancer: :dancer: :dancer:

Chris,

Thanks for your kind words! She is looking for a teaching position. In all honesty, the state had to change it's certification laws...I'll give you a short explanation. There are three types of certificates all depending on how many years you have taught. The first level (what we are) used to require you to get it renewed in five years, but you can't get it renewed unless you have five years of teaching. So, the state now has said when you have five years of teaching you can get a new certificate. I know that wasn't a long explanation, but that's how bad the job market is out here. Plenty of people...not enough jobs!

I'm feeling really awesome for my personal health! I can feel a change in me that I've never felt before and it's amazing! :)

Keep up the hard work, too! :)

Great job - only 1.5 lbs. until 20 lost! You can do it! I know it's tough when you have a lot going on at work or otherwise. I hope the scale moves soon :)

Hang in there Chris! I agree with pearlieq, you might be starving yourself! I know that people who are really disciplined with their eating (bodybuilders, etc) actually alternate how many calories they eat (like 3 days low, 1 day high, 3 days low, 1 day high). That might get you off your plateau! Hopefully your work will calm down and you can get back into concentrating on YOU!

Don't give up, you are going to get that 20 lb clippie in no time! :cool1:

HI Chris,

Almost to that 20 pound clippie!!! Way to go! I just know that scale is going to start moving any day! Don't get to frustrated.....

I hope things at work start to slow down for you. I know what you mean about not having time for anything!

Good luck and keep up the good work!

Chris, it won't be long until you get that clippie! Hang in there. A lifestyle change isn't always easy. :cheer2:

I'm feeling a clippie and I hope it's tomorrow. I did eat more today than I've been eating and it was good food, not junk.

Here's what I had -
breakfast very berry fruit and oatmeal bar
fat free yogurt
cheese stick

lunch ham sandwich
3 pickle slices
1 cup cantaloupe
cheese stick

dinner 1 1/2 cup sausage, peppers, onions
1 cup white rice
1 almond joy

Totals were: 1425.5 cals, 42.5 fat grams, 152.8 carbs and I am done eating for the day as it's getting late. Had to go work at the Habitat office for a few hours tonight after I worked out. Got a good workout at Jazzercise tonight, a lot of bouncing with the leader tonight!!!!!

We'll see what the scale says tomorrow. I drank 94 ounces of water. I was done with my first 40 before I left for lunch so that made me feel great. I got full at lunch but I kept eating until I had eaten all that I had marked to eat for lunch - I was having a hard time finishing my cantaloupe but knew I needed the fruit for today since I haven't gotten much the last couple of days. That helped me not need a snack in the afternoon and then I was able to have more sausage and peppers and onions for dinner. We have this thing with our church/school called Market Day (if you've heard of it but never have used try it sometime). It's great food, most of it, and the meats they use are very lean. I love their Lemon Chicken Breast and I think they are getting rid of it - very low calories, right sized portion, and almost not carbs and no fat as far as I know. Some stuff is high in fat so I stay away from that but most of their stuff is good and my dh and I really like this Italian Sausage with peppers and onions. I put it over a bed of rice and a couple of sprays of spray butter - YUMMMMY!!!!! Usually we have green beans with it but I was beaned out and had to eat fast so I could go workout. So I ate, worked out and belched sausage all night (sorry to be gross) but it's been a good night.

Gonna be very busy the next couple of days but I'll try to check in at night. Our local Habitat for Humanity affiliate, of which I'm the secretary on the Board, is having their major fund raiser this weekend - garage sale. This thing is HUGE!!!!! Two years ago we brought in almost $20,000, last year we only brought in $12,000 but we had really bad weather. This year we are hoping to get back up to the $20,000 mark again. It's tomorrow all day, Saturday all day and til noon on Sunday. They started setting up today and then heavens opened up twice and drenched us. Fortunately they hadn't gotten much up yet. But by noon it was done and I drove by there tonight and it looked like they were pretty set for tomorrow. Then on Sunday we are celebrating my father in laws actual 75th bday and going out to a pretty good local steakhouse. Gonna have to really watch what I eat on Sunday during the day so I can have their ranch dressing and bread - AWESOME is the only thing I can say. I'll have chicken instead of steak to help balance it out. But their ranch dressing is to die for and then they have this bread - OH MY!!!!! Maybe I'll bring my own dressing, have just a small amount of theirs so that I can have some bread. I have to really think about this. But no cake and the cupcakes here are gone.

So on to tomorrow and the weekend - I need a few days away from the boss badly!!!!!!

Everyone have a good night and I'll try to chat a bit tomorrow before I leave work at lunchtime. If not, have a great weekend!!!!

Keep on
Chris

I've got my fingers crossed for your clippie! It's yours!!!

Good luck with the Habitat sale this weekend--what a great project. Sending :wizard: your way. I hope it goes really well!!!

Mmmm, ranch dressing... It's one of the best things ever invented! Great job thinking it out and balancing things before you get there. I know you'll do great!

Well, no clippie today BUT down .5 pounds so I've only got one more to go and I want that off before the end of the month. I WILL do it!!!!!! I'm thinking Monday will be clippie day if I don't blow it on Sunday at dinner. I will be getting lots of exercise today and tomorrow and Sunday working at the garage sale because our volunteer base is very low.

No tears today - gonna make sure this is a good day and hope that a monarch shows up to guide us through the garage sale (it would be great because that would mean my mom is looking down on us)!!!!!

Thanks everyone - hope you all have a great day!

Keep on
Chris

I hope your garage sale makes lots of $$ this year!

You will get that clippie next week for sure! That can be your motivation for sticking with your restaurant game plan. I say go for the ranch dressing and bread, just limit yourself to 1-2 pieces of bread and skip dessert (which you already plan on doing!!)

I'll have to try the sausage, peppers and onion dish. My kids are just so picky, I know they'd have a fit...

So just checking in quick. I had to post how I did today. Walked a lot today - probably about a total of 3 hours but I'm only going to count it for an hour because I didn't really keep track. But not only did I walk a lot I was carrying boxes from cars and moving things. It was a pretty good day - I was only there from about 1 until 7 (we were suppose to close at 6). Tomorrow is going to be a madhouse. I can tell having this weight off really helped me - I was able to tolerate moving as much as I did and I was able to tolerate the amount of time I was on my feet. I'm very happy about that.

I didn't think about mom much this afternoon, which was good. But I do have to tell you - there was a point in the day that I wondered what time it was so I looked down at my cell phone and it was the exact time they had pronounced her. I know, it probably sounds creepy but I thought it was interesting. I haven't thought about how much I have missed here these last couple of weeks until just a bit ago when I was talking to Britt about her. And one lonely monarch did fly by today at the garage sale. I did smile! Thanks for putting up with me dealing with this week I do appreciate it more than you know - the best part of this journal is that I can type out my feelings and not worry about it!

So here's what I had today - not much time to eat and dd and I were going to go to the movies tonight and have popcorn but we pooped and there wasn't much good playing so we ran through Arby's to get some dinner. I had 4 small curly fries so I didn't count them because I didn't know how. Not gonna do enough damage. Did have a hard time drinking all of my water because of the unavailability of the bathroom. But came home and did drink 24 ounces and had 16 this morning at work. So I got a little over half.

breakfast very berry fruit and oatmeal bar
cheese stick

lunch oven roasted chicken sub
lay's light chips

dinner Arby's BLT wrap
4 curly fries

Total: 1340 cals, 67 fats, 141.5 carbs and just in the BLT wrap there were 31 fiber grams!!!!! But in total today I had 37 grams of fiber.

I did pretty good. Haven't had any bacon since I started this and it wasn't that great. But all the wraps had bacon on them so I figured might as well go for the gold. I really like those Lay's Light chips. They are really good. Got some veggies in with the sub and the wrap. Got just a smidge of dairy and no fruits. Tomorrow won't be any better but I'll be able to pack my breakfast to eat at 9:30 which will be able to include a yogurt. Don't have a clue what lunch and dinner will be as it's going to be a long day and I don't know who is getting lunch and where it might come from. I got lunch today so I was able to plan what I'd eat. I'm not going to get on the scale tomorrow because of the salty stuff I had today - don't want to be up for disappointment. Especially since I didn't get to eat dinner until 7:30.

And no, I'm not having dessert on Sunday night so I think I will do as you suggest Amy. Thanks - I think I can do well if I really watch what I eat for lunch and am careful - again won't know what that will be but may be able to hold out and eat when I get home from the garage sale.

Have a good day tomorrow - we are up early and out until probably about 7 or 8 and then I need to do some laundry when I get home. Suppose to get some more rain tonight and tomorrow - hope not drenching though!!!!

HUGS to you all!!!!
Keep on
Chris

Glad today went well. Hope you have a great weekend! Prayers are headed your way!
