Cruise upgrades for DVC Members???

I've been reading about stateroom upgrades on the disboards, and was wondering if this is only for cash paying customers. Are there any DVC members out there that have had stateroom upgrades?

This is our 3rd cruise booked thru DvC using a combination of points and cash. we were told we would not get an upgrade if we used points in one of the staterooms. (We book 2 statrerooms- there's 5 0f us). For our upcoming cruise we did one stateroom with DVC (cat 11)and the other strictly on th cash through DCL(cat 6)- wondering if we'll get an upgrade on the one booked thru DCL.
