Do I need to get the Disney Cruise line travel insurnace as well as having my own insurance , we have annaual travel insurance cover here

we will be cruising in hurricane season ,so just want to be sure I am covered

What have you done
if so and you had to claim , was it easy to do from here

Thanks for any info

Remember any travel insurance for a cruise should include helicopter evacuation in case of an emergency - many ordinary policies will not cover this so you need to check.

Although I had my own insurance, I took out Disney's cruise insurence as well, just because I wanted to make sure I was covered in case of illness, and needed helicopter evacuation as Gill says and in case of travel disruption due to hurricanes. Thankfully we didnt need it, but I didnt think it was that expensive and thought better safe than sorry. I dont think my own policy actually covered hurricanes which is why I took it out.

I have heard from people who have had to claim from Disney Cruise Line's own insurance and have had no problems at all Jackie.

As gill says, you need to check your own policy to check inclusions/exclusions...

IN GENERAL cruise line travel insurance is for Americans who rarely ever have travel insurance (since it is incredibly expensive and most of their medical needs are covered by their seperate medical insurance). So the cruise line insurance is generally a "top up" for Americans...

We don't take out cruise line insurance on top of our annual travel insurance (since I believe that we are properly covered). But, like gill says, different policies cover you differently - so best to check your own policy and see whether you feel like you need the additional cover.

Thanks phone and my policies does not cover this
any one know does the disney travel insurance cover this :confused3

or who else dose

There are plenty of british travel insurance companies that will cover you for a cruise, since cruising has enjoyed increasing popularity with the Brits.

... some will charge extra whilst some will include it......

Direct Line ( 1 week or less) and 24DR travel ( http://www.24drtravel.com/index.asp) are two that I know include it with no extra cost...but there are loads of others..

Hope this helps.
