Me, not personally, but for my DW, she likes to get her hair done, nails done, etc. before we travel anywhere for vacation. My only ritual is to make sure I did not forget anything....
We usually eat In Japan the night before and eat breakfast at Olivia's in OKW. Then we pile everything in the Harden family Truckster and off we go. One other ritual that has us howling as we near the Port is we play that song Cruisin' by Gweneth Paltrow and Heuy Lewis as we go over the causeway and the Magic comes into site for the first time. Rituals are important to us! Wes
YES! But I do this before any summer vacation, manicure, pedicure (bright toe nail polish, of course), haircut, and a trip to Palm Beach Tan for my spray on tan. (I'm a redhead, no natural tan for me so the spray on kind is the next best thing!)
Absolutely....always get manicure/pedicure, hair cut and color, eyebrow wax, tanning. As we always cruise with at least 2 other families, we get together at least once a month from the time we book until we depart and our cruise mate, Mr. Dennis (as he was referred to by many CM's) always brings his own version of the "drink of the day".
I am with Dbond. I do the same thing...I am a strawberry blonde. I burn easily, so I do the self-tanner. This year, I am doing the spray on booth. I also do not like to shave while I am gone, so I will make my legs nice and smooth!
The other thing as part of ritual/tradition is to have a nice going away dinner! We usually pick a nice seafood rest. in town or in Cocoa Beach. I LOVE Conchy Joes in Melbourne, Fl. It just sets the mood of a tropical vacation!

Does obsessing over whether I'm forgetting something all the way to the airport count as a ritual?!

I do a pedicure, french, which goes with everything and looks great with a tan. I can't stand long nails, never feel like my hands are clean, so skip the manicure. We eat whatever needs to be eaten out of the frig. I always make a couple stops at bookstores to make certain I will not run out of reading material...that is a terrifying thought. I do the tanning booth thing so that I don't burn. I am also extremely cheap the week or so before vacation...figure I will be indulging myself soon enough, I need to be careful before I go.
we watch the video and eat pizza the night before we go and also pick names and days that we'll be celebrating "unbirthdays" while we're away. each of us get a day to ourselves and the other's have to buy gifts that goes with the "unbirthday" persons personality. we always look forward to doing this.
