Hi guys.:wave2:

Are there any rituals you do before you leave for your cruise? Like getting manicures and pedicures, tanning or having your hair done?

Me, not personally, but for my DW, she likes to get her hair done, nails done, etc. before we travel anywhere for vacation. My only ritual is to make sure I did not forget anything....:)

Yes.......................... go on a crash diet and shed a few pounds! You are sure to gain a few during your cruise!Nat:Pinkbounc

Oh yes!

I try to shed at least 5 lbs. before I cruise. (It's how much I gain, and it's easier for me to lose ahead of time than to lose when I return.)

DD and I get manicures and spa pedicures the day before we travel. (DH even gets a spa pedicure, as he loves the leg massage!)

We always have dinner out the night before we travel. (Don't want to have to do dishes, as we're busy enough!)

We usually eat In Japan the night before and eat breakfast at Olivia's in OKW. Then we pile everything in the Harden family Truckster and off we go. One other ritual that has us howling as we near the Port is we play that song Cruisin' by Gweneth Paltrow and Heuy Lewis as we go over the causeway and the Magic comes into site for the first time. Rituals are important to us! Wes

YES! But I do this before any summer vacation, manicure, pedicure (bright toe nail polish, of course), haircut, and a trip to Palm Beach Tan for my spray on tan. (I'm a redhead, no natural tan for me so the spray on kind is the next best thing!)

Absolutely....always get manicure/pedicure, hair cut and color, eyebrow wax, tanning. As we always cruise with at least 2 other families, we get together at least once a month from the time we book until we depart and our cruise mate, Mr. Dennis (as he was referred to by many CM's) always brings his own version of the "drink of the day".

I am with Dbond. I do the same thing...I am a strawberry blonde. I burn easily, so I do the self-tanner. This year, I am doing the spray on booth. I also do not like to shave while I am gone, so I will make my legs nice and smooth!

The other thing as part of ritual/tradition is to have a nice going away dinner! We usually pick a nice seafood rest. in town or in Cocoa Beach. I LOVE Conchy Joes in Melbourne, Fl. It just sets the mood of a tropical vacation!

Check these boards every 15minutes (between fits of packing) for the last couple of weeks for any scrap of new info.:earseek:

::MickeyMo We stop at Krispy Kreme for donuts on the way to the airport.::MinnieMo

We have "monthly meetings" before we go on our cruise to plan and plan and plan some more. At the last meeting we have a "sail away" party!!

we also get manicures and pedicures and usually a hair cut before we go!!

We look at past cruise photos & watch the DCL video again (like we don't know it by heart! )

I do a pedicure, french, which goes with everything and looks great with a tan. I can't stand long nails, never feel like my hands are clean, so skip the manicure. We eat whatever needs to be eaten out of the frig. I always make a couple stops at bookstores to make certain I will not run out of reading material...that is a terrifying thought. I do the tanning booth thing so that I don't burn. I am also extremely cheap the week or so before vacation...figure I will be indulging myself soon enough, I need to be careful before I go.

we watch the video and eat pizza the night before we go and also pick names and days that we'll be celebrating "unbirthdays" while we're away. each of us get a day to ourselves and the other's have to buy gifts that goes with the "unbirthday" persons personality. we always look forward to doing this.::yes::

I forgot to mention that when i get my pedicure I go to the local beauty college and pay $16 bucks for what would cost me around $60 on board...
