we are planning on doing a Disney cruise in 2017 and I have a question. Can you feel the ship rocking? We have done one other cruise and it felt like we were rocking the entire time. I don't want to spend an entire cruise feeling sick again.

The Disney ships are no better or worse than any other ships of similar size and build date. Newer ships have more advanced stabilization mechanisms, and that holds true for all ships across all cruise lines. The shipbuilders who build the DCL ships do not do anything different when they build a ship for DCL.

DH and I use Scopolomine patches to avoid any issues with motion-sickness. Others on this board report good results using Dramamine, bonine, or even sea bands. The ship is traveling on the ocean, so how smooth or rough your journey is will depend on weather and other factors, but I would certainly expect that at some point or another you WILL feel some motion.

Have you cruised the Alaskan inside passage? With land on both sides of the ship there's a lot less motion of the ocean.

I'm pretty sensitive to the movement of ships. I've been on the Fantasy 2 times recently, which has the stabilizers. You can still feel the ship a bit sometimes. I take non-drowsy dramamine and the movement doesn't really bother my stomach whatsoever. I also keep Ginger Root for any possible stomach unrest. That one-two punch keeps my stomach happy.

Weather is a factor also. Bad weather, rough ride.
