cruise ducks

Going on the Disney Treasure come September 2025, are people still hiding ducks?
Not in public spaces or in staterooms.

I found this online:

Shirley from FL AskedPlease note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.“

Are we allowed to hide ducks on the ships? Security on our recent Disney cruise were removing them and told us to stop but I can’t find this written anywhere.

Ahoy, Shirley! Thank you for sailing to planDisney with your question. Welcome!

I've been hearing rumblings that guests are being discouraged from hiding ducks onboard Disney Cruise ships, so I called the friendly agents at Disney Cruise Line to ask if they had an official policy that I could share with you. I was advised that guests cannot hide things, such as rubber ducks in staterooms or public areas on the ship.

I know that this is a popular thing to do for many cruisers onboard, but it sounds like it's being discouraged and as you said, Crew Members are removing any ducks they spot around the ship. I've got kids in my household with eyes that are trained for the ducks onboard so I guess it's time I inform them to not re-hide any ducks that they might find!

It sounds like now we both have our ducks in a row for future cruises! If you have additional questions, please return to planDisney and ask. My panelist pals and I can help you when you vacation with Disney Cruise Line, Disneyland Resort, Walt Disney World Resort, and Disney Vacation Club. We even have a fun planDisney podcast you can check out between your Disney trips to feel close to that Disney magic.

    Have a wonderful New Year!

Yes but people are still doing it . In October my daughter found 8. We gave one to our server the last morning she was thrilled.

I've spoken to so many cast members about this and they always say the same - if it wasn't allowed, they'd be on the prohibited list. As long as they're not left in shops, around the pool area and in bathroom, it's fine.
You're always going to get difference of opinion and how clear the "rules" need to be but until it's in black and white on their website to say prohibited, then they're allowed

We were on the Treasure January 11 sailing and didn't notice any ducks. Perhaps they were too well hidden.

We found one sitting on the port hole at dinner at 1923 on the Wish this year. It was left by the diners before, and wasn't especially hidden. When my daughter saw it, our servers were excited for her.

Clearly the cast would have seen it while they were cleaning between services, and they left it unmolested. YMMV

It was the only one we saw that trip, though.

When the rules changed, crew started to actively collect them when they found some.

The planDisney website referenced above is considered an official website.

I don't consider it to be an official website

exactly!

I had a friend on that sailing, and he found a few

We were also on the January 11th sailing on the Treasure and we found 7 without even trying to look for them. I will say we saw less ducks on our sailings last year than we had been finding.

Our kids found a couple three months ago on the fantasy. They talked about it all day. It really made the day special for them. Who knew ducks could make people so happy.

But it is.

We also had a cast member post here that ducks were no longer allowed.
I'm not surprised that Disney has made that call. l know that they don't allow any items to be left lying around their parks due to it not being approved Disney theming. The same could be said for random plastic ducks sitting around on cruise ships.
