Does anyone know if once you check in at WDW Hotel in a Land & Sea package, do you get your key to the world for everything at hotel, theme parks, and the cruise on one card? I thought I read somewhere that you are already checked in at the hotel so you don't have to stand in line at the port terminal....is this true?....could it be that simple?......all we have to do is show up at the port and walk on the ship? What about all of our cruise document forms?

I've been on one 3-day cruise before, but this is the first land and sea package. If we do have 1 card for all, then I guess we would know our dinning rotation when we get our cards at the hotel?

Any other helpfull tips about land & sea from you great disney veterans would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks!!

If I recall from our Dec '01 land and sea trip, you simply walked onto the ship. It really was that easy! They checked all our documents at the resort!

When you check in at the resort, they verify and take all your cruise docs, then they give you the key to both your hotel room and your cabin. When you get to port, just get in the boarding line and walk onboard. You will not receive your dining rotation in your hotel room; it will be in your cabin when you board.

Remember.......it MUST be a WDW resort!!!! The Swan and Dolphin are not!!! If you use a WDW resort they take all docs at checkin time. Same credit card to charge....same KTTW card. No wait to check in on the ship.

unless you are like us and accidentally put your KTTW card next to a credit card and wipe out the magnetic strip..THEN..you have to go to a little room on the side of the "jetway" to get them re-keyed. It was really really nice to be able to just check in at our leisure at the Poly (the hours were at certain times but there was no wait when we went) and only 1 of us had to go (of course it was me...:p ) but then they take your information and you just go to the port and you can just walk on. True you dont get your dining rotation til you get to your cabin. At least that is how it worked for us in Nov 02

I got a question about the dinner rotation. I booked 8 staterooms for 25 people in May of 2003. For the Land/Sea package for May 2004. CRO gave us a choice of rotations. I took the early one because we have children. Now she told us that they don't have tables big enough for all at the same one. But told us that we would have 3 to 4 tables all together. Am I wrong to think that we are going to get the early rotation. Nothing was ever said that the dinner times can change. Do you think I should call? You don't think that they would not only seperate the tables but seperate the times. Thanks for any help.

Does that mean I show my passport to the resort people
and I will not have to show it to the cruise people?

BALMAV: If your reservations are linked, and they should be since you made them together, you should have the same dining time (early vs. late) and the same rotation. The largest table I've ever been seated at was for 14, so they usually group large groups in the same area. I would check with CRO to verify early dining time and to verify the reservations are linked. The late or early seating will be on your cruise docs, and are also usually shown on your reservation (I book with DU so I check mine online) I am a little confused by your term "rotation" There are early and late seating (6 and 8:30) that do not change throughout the cruise. The rotation is not given until you board. The dining rotation most refered to around here is for the restaurants, as you do change restaurants each night. But you keep the same servers, the same table and the same time.

jvas: I only had to show passport and proof of citizenship when checking into the resort. However, you do have to have a picture ID along with your KTTW when boarding. I usually just keep my passport out for that.

We had to show our passports or birth certificates to customs, I believe it was Wed morning in the theatre before anyone could leave the ship in St. Thomas.

We stayed at the Dolphin just this past October. We got our KTTW cards while we were waiting for the DCL bus to take us to the port.

Just wanted to clarify that...

this is awsome!!! it will make it so much easier just to walk onto the ship!
*happy dance*

jvas: KTTW=Key to the World. All-in-one key with entry to room & cabin; charging privilege key, and bording pass.

Oh!....I should have known that after 180 or so posts!
Thanks!::yes::

NCRedding, I have no idea what rotation means either. I thought that is what they called the 2 dinner times. I booked all the staterooms at the same time so I know they are all attached. I just wanted to make sure they would not change any of the times for some people and keep some were they are. I am sure that some of our people will want to eat at Palo's so we won't be there all at the same time anyway. Thanks for your input. I really like all the help around here

Thanks Everyone

We will be staying at The Caribean Beach Resort on a 4day land 3 day sea package that our Travel Agent booked thru disney cruiseline. I'm glad to know how easy it will be for us to board the ship!!

We booked our 3-day cruise thru DCL but plan on booking our land portion on our own. We will be staying at either the Beach Club or the Boardwalk.

Will we be able to still do the cruise check-in at the resort and be issued combo room keys/KTTW?

Thanks, Steve

DVC California: No, you will not be able to do check in at the resort for the ship since you are booked separately. You'll check-in at the resort and at the ship.

Hi NCRedding-

Thanks for the reply. I figured as much but I thought I'd ask anyway.

TTFN, Steve
