The time is flying by... NOT! I'm sure once we get out of this snowy winter and there might be some hope of spring, it will seem closer. One day it willl be our turn, but until then we can chat and plan...........
I only hope the summer doesn't fly by. I hope it takes as long as this long, dreary winter is taking!

Mike - Deck 2 lounge :teeth: ;) Can't wait!

Arlene - Did you get my latest email regarding getting together? How do you guys like this SNOW!! YUK!!!

I'm not sure if it's cabin fever or what but RELAX. My idea is that this board is for us to get helpful hints and to get to know others before we cruise .... it's still working as far as I can tell. Some of us are just volunteering to do some things to try and make it a really special time for anyone that WANTS to participate. ...................
:bounce: Great News, today I actually spoke with MaryJo and we made arrangements to have a "lunch DIS meet" in 2 weeks. I am so excited and have already started to collect pictures of some of the gang so she can put a face with a name.
I keep hearing that chill word alot lately!! LOL!! Cabin Fever, winter depression, work stress.... gosh, we need vacations asap!!! Great you and MaryJo getting together! Keep us posted about it and let us know when a warmer weather PA meet happens! Meanwhile, ARLENE???

p.s. - love the new goofy clipart!

Here is a question that will get everyone's mind off the CHILL....
I want to know about the surial Ritual chamber. I was reading about it in my passporter.....it looks really interesting. How intimate can you really get in there without someone coming in?

This cruise I am going to force my non-romantic DH to be romantic! ;)

Hope

Basically, when they show you to the area, they tell you to lock the door and then they give you a 10 minute warning at the very end. Besides that, your all alone! From what I hear, you can do whatever you imagine. Apply the muds then shower, mud fight, wink wink,... whatever. Some people suggest extra towels because tile is a hard surface. Hubby says it's not his thing. Boo hoo for me! LOL! Our friends are surely going to give it a try. Do you guys know the "Inkognitos" of the DIS (Barb and Tony). They have a PG rated version of the process on their website with pictures of the surial bath areas.

www.castawayclub.com <--- under SPA

Tina ;)

It isn't really my DH's thing either, but he will be looking at the end result!! I don't know the Inkogitos. I am sure we will meet soon. I really want to check out the spa area with my DH and without :)

Thanks for your help.

hopelea - You can get as intimate as you like! ;) ;) Privacy is complete but you might want to have a waterproof watch with you to keep an eye on the time.

Great tip..........thanks. I am so looking forward to our first cruise. I just want to make as many great memories as I can.

Hope

Note that Hopkins edited her previous post and added that link to Barb and Tony's site. I haven't visited their site in quite awhile but they do give thorough and great information on all areas of the ship, spa included. Check it out. Thanks Hopkins!

matty204......I also have late seating with 2 dd's. I really want to change that. I am afraid that there will be a lot of great things going on in there play areas that they will not want to come to dinner with us and enjoy all the great food.

OK it is 9:08 and I am at work typing my daughters report that is due tomorrow (our printer at home is broken)--gotta love those kids!!

Matty204--maybe we could link our dining together along with OKWmiester (the other Minnosota family) and our kids would get along fine--Kelsie has already emailed Sarah. Don't exactly know how to do this but maybe Dan would help us (if you want). Mary Jo

matty and hopelea: we also have late seating with two kids. We did this last cruise and except for having DS fall asleep under the table one night, (he was fine and no one seemed to mind), we had no problems. We started out with Early dinning this time, but switched to Late. I hope that you will stick with the Late group. One thing you may want to think about, the hours on the ship correspond with the time zone we are in that day. Since we live in the central time zone and our regular dinner time is 7 pm we would have a little problem with dinner at KW at 8ish when our body clocks say 9ish. BUT, once we move west, the times change also. Hunger is Never a problem on the Magic, and our kids always "passed out" after dinner. Anyway, that my 2 cents worth.
Later, Ave'

OK guys, I need all the help I can get. This will be my first cruise ANYWHERE and I'm taking my 18 yr old son for a graduation present. Oct 11 it is with my buddy SueEllen and family and hopefully Barb too. My boy wants to get to know some folks before we go so pipe up all you young, single ladies!!! The boy is cute and mom just wants to relax and enjoy Disney:jester:

tammeb...welcome aboard--so glad to have you with us..this is our third disney cruise and you will have a ball!! Can't hook your son up with my daughter--she just turned 13 and is too young for boys (her dad is going to lock her in the closet)!! LOL!! Where do you live in Seattle--was there two years ago prior to our Alaska trip (we stayed in Everett, Levinworth and Tacoma)--beautiful state and we really enjoyed our trip there.

We have always done the late seating even when Sarah was little and never had any problems. She usually strolls into the cabin at 1:00 a.m. long after we have gone to bed--but, heck, how much trouble can they get into. We usually don't eat until 6:30-7:00 p.m. by the time I get home from work and get dinner together.

tammeb..be sure to email Viking and have him add your name to the official cruise list.

Nice to meet you Sarah! Tony loves kids too so I'm sure they hook up as "buddies" instead. I really don't expect to see him much on the cruise, he very much likes to do his own thing, but he's a good kid and I trust him to wander in and out of the cabin whatever time he likes. We are in 6030 and he wants to sleep on the verandah. Go figure!!

Of where you were, I'm closest to Everett. Just south of there in Mountlake Terrace (near Lynnwood). I work on the east side of Lake Washington though, in Redmond (Microsoft).

And our numbers yet grow again! :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

To be on our official list, like Sarah'sMom said, send your info to Viking. I'm sure SueEllen told you all about that. Welcome to our cruise and our thread. Looking forward to more posts from you. Try and get SueEllen to post a little more too! hahaha - as if we didn't have enough to read on this thread! ;)

We've cruised twice, both with teenson, last time in 2001 when he was 17. He is staying home this time around. At 18, I'm not sure if your son can get into teen program. I am having one of those "senior moments" and can't recall if the age limit was 17 or 18. At any rate, exceptions have been made, ask CarolAnnK about that.

Yeah, I don't see SueEllen and bunch post here often, but Barb (TinkerBarb) I'm not sure if she's going yet. I hope so! I've offered to share my cabin with her.

Anyhow, yes, I wrote to Viking and hope he confirms receipt soon. I just gave our names and the date we're joining you all. Did I need to give anything else?

Amy - Hope your day today was less stressful than yesterday. I know how it is to work for a company that is laying off people. I was in a hospital that took four to five years to downsize and then finally close. Talk about stress. All these people were being fired who had been there for 25-30 years and I was staying. Who was I to stay? Alright, they were all patient care people and they were closing wards left and right. I was transcription and they still needed us to transcribe the Psych, Detox and Ambulatory Surgery stuff. But it was a very bad time indeed.

Thanks Rosemary!! Things are much better now. We only lost one in my department, but because I work at home, I'm not in touch with any of the other lay-off casualties. However, it does look like they are giving them 60 days to find jobs within the company and if they don't find anything, then they are let go. Now, the only bad part for me is that for the past 2 weeks I've been training for a new job, but with this girl leaving our department, it looks like I'm back to doing my old job (since she had gotten all of my old stuff). Oh well, at least I'm still working!!!

I'm starting to meet lots of people online for my scrapbooking "convention" in June at WDW. I'm really looking forward to that!!! It'll be the first time that I'll be away from Emily for more than one night!! Yeah, my first "no baby" get-away!!!

As for Emily, she's not doing so well. She's been really crabby the past few days. And, since she's normally such an even-tempered toddler (I know a contradiction in terms - even-tempered and toddler) I knew something was wrong. Brought her to the doctor today and she has the start of an ear infection. She's on antibiotics and hopefully it'll clear up in a few days.

I know that you northererns don't want to hear this, but it is getting way too warm too soon here in FL. It hit almost 90 in the middle of the state today. They're saying that we're about 15 degrees above normal right now. I'm still fighting to keep the air conditioner off for at least another couple of months. I really don't want to face $300 electric bills in March. In May I can handle it, but not March!! But, I woke Emily up from her nap this afternoon and the back of her head was soaked from sweat!!! I love FL, but summer seems to be making an early arrival!!!

And Eric - some pixie dust to you that you start to feel better real soon!!!

Eric used to have all that stuff in his siggy line but the Goofy Tag Fairy zapped him for noncompliance to the rules and regs! HAHAHA It was so funny.

Anyway, our list categories are:
  • Email Addy
  • Real first name/age and occupation - (age as of cruise time and you can't get out of this one!)
  • Kids
  • Seating (Main or Late dining)
  • State Room
  • Home
  • Night before Cruise (many of us will be at the Radison Friday night)
  • Special Occasion (such as celebrating your son's graduation)

You send him all that and then you will get a list with all that info on it about us!

Amy - Hope Emily bounces back real quick!

Oh and come on Survivor fans - Let's see you post your thoughts about tonight's episode on the Official Survivor thread over on the community board. Here's the link: Survivor Thread

Amy...I am really jealous..makes me want to move to Florida asap and work at Disney!! Hey..we're close to post #2800--can I try and get it???

Eric..just heard on the news that there is a nude runner who is running around Binghamton, NY and the cops can't catch him--LOL!! Considering it is in the teens in the mornings and snow and freezing rain, this guy has to be out of his mind!!
