padisneynut..bettemom..anyone getting snow..I SPOKE TO0 SOON!! It has been snowing like the dickens here and our snow removal guys (this is my department) have been working like crazy this winter and supposedly 2-4 inches is predicted. And my boss had the nerve to go to Florida and miss this!! Very quiet in my office today--boss is out and I am reading a book--could catch up on some of my filing but will save it for when the boss is here so he can be impressed with my work ethic!!

bettemom..Sarah was dying to get a tag so she posted (could it be that I am turning her into a disney nut like me??) something about sign said drawbridge ahead...and darn, I don't even have a pencil!! At first, I didn't get it (senior menopausal moment) but then it clicked. She will be thrilled when she gets home from school!!

GoofyNut..Sarah was mad when she heard Art's school was closed again--she said that life is not fair! She has a report due tomorrow (not done yet, I might add) and my printer at home is not working so I have to go home from work tonight and collect her and the report (hopefully it will be done) and come back to work to type it (because as she so lovingly (sp?) said--you type so much better and faster than me!! What a smooze!!

Nancy (CE),

I watch Days, Port Charles and GH. Been watching Days since I was an infant. I love it when they do the REALLY old flashbacks.

Last year we had the 2 formals in PC. I would rather be in L or AP. The formally of L is nice and the black and white of AP is pretty cool with all the tuxes. I think formal just seems out of place in PC.

We missed the second night because we got to go to Palo's instead. I don't remember there being a band on the first night.

We have always had LAPLAPL dining too.

Nancy (CI)

:( Where is everybody. I know you can't all be out shoveling show. Some of you are lucky enough to be where it's nice and warm.

Art's school closed for the day ... he had to go in early and then they sent them home to come back @ 4 to plow what snow fell by them.

I'd really rather the white stuff we walk on to be sand instead of this d*****d snow. We haven't had a winter like this in an awfully long time.

:Pinkbounc About our cruise.... I heard it's the first one after refurb ..... Goody, do we get to see the two ships pass each other again? I also thought I saw that there may be some new shows ... Don't worry Disney Dreams is supposed to be still there.

 Just heard that President Bush is supposed to address the nation tonite @ 8 PM .... Let's pray it's not bad news!

I might have to make an executive decision and decide to leave early--boss is in Florida and I am in charge!! LOL!!

My Survivor bumped by the President? That's OK, I love them both!

I went bowling today. I'm in a league of women bowlers. It's bowling and a social thing. Chat, chat, throw ball, chat... 17 over my average. Not a bad bowling day.

Tina :)

Anja, do you have any nursing techs working with you? Some call them nurses's aids. I used to be a certified nurse technician. I used to hate those uppitity RN's.:o It seemed to me that I was doing all the scutt work and they sat on their behinds and wrote in charts. Hah! Little did I know. :p I do not miss those days at all.
I did give good baths though.;) Still do, only my patients are smaller. :teeth: How do you do it? You are so small and having to move a huge man who just had bone surgery has to be impossible.

Kathy,
Anja's hospital doesn't have nursing techs. They're not very common any longer over here.
Yes, moving heavy patients is a chore for Anja, but that's one more reason for us to go to the gym. Although Anja weighs just about 100lbs she can do 12 squats with a barbell of 130 to 140lbs on her back. If you compare this to her bodyweight it's more than I do (190lbs and squats with 230 to 250lbs).

Although spring started here we've got the flu spreading across the country - And it got me.

Now I have to try to get rid of it until Saturday to be able to run the halfmarathon on Sunday. I have trained like an animal for the last eight weeks and now I might have to cancel :(

Cathy,
I really can't remember my last Sauerkraut (REALLY!!) - But perhaps that's my problem ;)

Go ahead and leave early.

Wasn't shovelling snow although we are supposed to get more over the weekend and then someone at lunch said that we are supposed to get even more next Tuesday. I've just stopped listening. I want sun and heat not snow and cold.

Our dog, Lily, loves the snow though. She goes and out and rolls around in it although I think even she is getting tired of the snow. She's quite little and the snow banks are starting to intimidate her!! She likes to dig in them though. It's quite funny to watch her because our last dog, Freckles, hated the snow and you would have to shove her out the door. Freckles would make one set of paw prints and gingerly re-use them every time she went out. Lily, on the other hand, messes up the entire backyard.

It's sunny out now and hoping it stays that way.

Fiona

What's all that talk about snow

The weekend after next I'm going to remove the winter tyres from our car and exchange them for the summer tyres :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Eric -- sending pixie dust so that you can get better for Sunday. It would be really disappointing to have to cancel now since you've trained so hard for it.

Fiona

Thanx Fiona,
but if I can't do that one there are races in smaller towns around Frankfurt nearly every weekend til October. But it would be nice to run the first one in my hometown.

And then, there is the scavengEar hunt race, too. Push fluids, Eric! I little pixie dust so you can race Saturday!!!

Tina

Eric ... In case you are sneezing ..... Gazuntheit (sp ?) I tried to spell it phonetically.

Rosemary ... I Ollie drinking anthing lately? Maybe put the liquids on his paws and he could lick it off.

Loved the "snow dog story". Had a beagle like that a while back.
AshLee insists on her snow suit when there is wet snow or else when she comes in she heads for the bathroom and give you that "well you gonna towel me off or what!" look.

Now to "snowmobile" my way home from work.

Glad the signature worked out Cathy it looks great.

Nancy we worked in the track department for 27 years. Started with the L&N (Louisville and Nashville), they merged with seaboard coast line and others to become the seaboard system. The seaboard system merged with the Chessie system to become CSX. Spent many a day swinging that 10 lb spike maul driving those spikes like John Henry.

Headed to 62º tomorrow and the trees are starting to bud out. Wish that Kathy and I had the time as we would go to Washington DC and see the cherry blossoms in bloom again. We went several years ago and they were beautiful around the tidal basin. Loved going to the smithsonian air and space museum and the bureau of printing and engraving to watch them print the money. They had a pallet of $20 bills all wrapped in plastic and ready to ship. The tour guide said that one pallet was $20,000,000. Now could we all stay on the ship for back to back cruises with that kind of cash? Mike

OH NO!!!!!! PIXIE DUST TO GERMANY - SPECIAL DELIVERY!! ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~~* You can't miss your halfmarathon. Especially after all the training you did! That would be MAJOR bummer!!!

Well, I was going to tape Survivor and go to my exercise class only because they were offering a special half-hour additional class following regular class but it don't matter now because the snow cancelled the class. But the question of the night is: Is Bush going to cancel Survivor??? Talk about Major BUMMER!!!

Ollie goes in for a checkup tomorrow a.m. Cathy - He is not drinking as far as I see but since he is eating canned food, he is getting liquid that way. Can't put liquid on his paws because paws can't near face due to e-collar. I am no longer as concerned as I was when he was not eating at all. He seems perkier now but his pain medication finally ran out. I'm sure that made him quite dopey! But, I think he is still pretty depressed and miserable with that collar on. Did I mentioned he ran out the yesterday morning at 4 a.m.!?! Bad Kitty! He didn't get far, however.

tulirose...the funny thing is, is that our dog doesn't have a tail--needless to say when we get home from work, she greets us by shaking her stump so her whole back end shakes!! We love her dearly and she is spoiled rotten............
My SIL's dog, Beau, was the same way. He was also much larger than her original Australian Shepherd, so when he shook that rearend of his, things could get knocked over if he was in a tight area. Beau would also lie (lay?) on his back and do his "Jane Fonda" routine. He would kick his legs up in the air twisting side to side, grunting the entire time. He was so funny. He would always greet us at the door with some item (usually my slipper or some dirty laundry he found on the floor) and he wouldn't give it up until you gave him something in return. He would take the leash in his mouth and walk himself. Heck, he also used to take my bathrobe belt and walk me!! He would snore REALLY LOUD. He just had so many ways of annoying... oops, I mean, endearing himself to us!! Miss him a lot. He was great!

Now when I have a lapse I just call it a senior moment.......
Oops, sorry Mike if I gave you credit for a quote you didn't do. It's that old Brain Farting thing again. Hehehe. SOMEbody wrote that once and I guess I just figured it was you because of all those southern sayings you guys have. First, I mistake Dan for doing something he didn't do and now you. Twenty lashes with a wet noodle for me!

PADisney- I love desserts! I would rather eat desserts than regular meals! Big sweet tooth!

Amy - Hope your day today was less stressful than yesterday. I know how it is to work for a company that is laying off people. I was in a hospital that took four to five years to downsize and then finally close. Talk about stress. All these people were being fired who had been there for 25-30 years and I was staying. Who was I to stay? Alright, they were all patient care people and they were closing wards left and right. I was transcription and they still needed us to transcribe the Psych, Detox and Ambulatory Surgery stuff. But it was a very bad time indeed.

Eric heal thyself!!!! Go and do the half marathon and make us proud. Just did a half house marathon myself. Instead of going into the kitchen and get my cup of coffee; I picked it up in the living room and brought it into the computer room.

Cathy and all of our Northern branch of the Dis family, hope that the snow is soon gone for all of you after this latest blast. Like I said earlier, it is starting to try and show some signs that spring is around the corner.

Eric has turned this group into detail planning fanatics. Speaking of which have we decided on a meeting place at the radisson? Around the pool again like last year?? See Eric, bad Eric.

Mike

I did say that Rosemary!!! It still applies too. Just changed it to keep Katie from repeating it when she starts talking;) Mike

I can't keep up with all these people who take numerous vacations. Did they leave already without saying goodby?

Kathy - I can see where your ward has lots of rewards but also very difficult and sad times too. If I read your post right, you are now off for the weekend. Enjoy your time home, don't worry too much about those babies while you're gone.

Hey - Kathy and Mike = How happy is your DD with her new kitchen? A lot of work but worth it in the end?

Mike - Just read your post about taking credit for that saying but now you are behaving because of little Katie. Okay - make that 10 lashes instead of 20 with a wet noodle for me, since I blamed Dan last week for something he didn't do. LOL!
