Hey Guys....50 doesn't look bad when you are seventy either....lol

Bette

Woke up this morning and it's really blah out -- foggy but no rain, just kinda blah. Then I realized that not only is the start to a long weekend (it's Cdn Thanksgiving on Monday) but IT'S ONLY ONE YEAR AWAY! :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Bette - I'm sure my mother would say, "<I>Seventy doesn't look so bad when you are eighty</I>!" In a few weeks I'll be taking her on her first cruise <I>ever</I> . . to celebrate her 80th birthday!

How cool !! Hope she enjoys it as much as I did !!! DD took me for my b'day ,also first time...

Bette

Hi Folks,
thanks again for all the good wishes.

My Gramps also wants to thank everybody for all the good wishes for a speedy recovery. He's back home after his stroke and nearly as good as before. When I told hime about all my American friends boasting with their ages he told me to post this "Even 80 looks great when you're 89!" ;)

Now the most important topic of the day:

JUST ONE YEAR TO GO 365x:bounce: (I have mercy with the slow connections :p )
Therefore I updated our list and sent it this evening. For the newbies: The list comes twice, as a PDF and as a Word-Doc. You only have to download one file. The mails are identical, just the attachments are different. The Word-doc was created with Word XP and may cause some problems with ancient Word-versions. This is the reason for the additional Adobe PDF-file.

Geez, I rushed to the computer as soon as I got home tonight and headed to the chat room hoping there would be some leftover cruise chatters....NO ONE!!! I thought for sure the CruiseEar guys would be there!

ONE YEAR FROM TODAY!!! This would have been a GREAT way to celebrate - in cruise chat! I hope I just missed a bunch of yous and you all had fun.

BUT, I got a notice with my cruising list that we gotta start getting our chatting sessions going. NEWBIES (and oldies who never chatted) - Every Friday night, The DIS hosts a DCL cruise line chat starting at 9 p.m. and ending around 10:30 p.m. CarolAnnK (a former Cruisetoberfester who happens to also be a DIS moderator) provides a link to chat, always appears near the top of the cruise board postings on Fridays.

I would suggest during this weekend or sometime during the next week, you guys all check it out and get yourselves registered. They even have instructional chat (or at least they used to). I have made an inquiry into whether it is still offered and will get back to you on that.

Once we attend some regular Cruise Chat Sessions, then we can start making appointments for a convenient time to talk with our German Friends from across the way. I believe we used to do it around 10 a.m. on Saturday mornings. It was great fun!

SO, your assignment for the week is to get yourself registered for chatting and test it out prior to next Friday. Any questions, post away and "someone will return your call" LOL!

Hi Tulirose. I saw the Cruise Chat thread but since the times are Eastern (I'm assuming) we didn't get home from work and errands in time to participate, out here on the Left Coast. I've never done a chat before but would love to join in so I promise to check it out AFTER the baseball playoffs. We are Huge SF Giants fans and have either been at the games or glued to the TV when they are on...I am so glad this is happening this year instead of next or I'd spend the whole cruise in the ESPN club. :D I believe if they make the World Series they don't start until next Saturday so the Friday chat would work...I will make a point of getting home early.

One year and counting

We were in the cruise chat from 9-10 est last night Rosemary. We had to leave to go get Kathy and Katie from DD2's home in lebanon last night. I added a few more pics from our cruise. I also sent you a cd with all of them on it Rosemary.

Glad to hear that your gramps is doing so well Eric. Don't forget to give Anja her birthday gift Monday. You know that 2 carat diamond necklace that you picked up on vacation;)

I did see a price for the walt disney suite while we were rebooking onboard. $5,000 is a little is a little rich for our blood. I don't remember, but I think that was per person. Mike

Here I am again, Sat. afternoon, checking out the boards. Thank goodness we booked for next year! Just got the formal clothes from the dry cleaner, almost had a stroke at how much it costs. ;) I'm back on the schedule for my "second" job. I start back next Sat.
Just one year to go!:p Later, Ave'

Hey Ave and the group. Well we are another day closer to our cruise and the great sailaway party that is to come. This was the second year in a row that a cm came up and ask us if we were selling anything. Several people had brought items that they were giving away and I guess DCL thought we were selling them.

It was kind of neat having that helicopter as our escort from the harbor. Wonder if they will do that in 2003? Mike

Shari

Just read your journal and saw your photos from your solo cruise on the Wonder (linked from the Captain's Quarters thread). It was just like being on the cruise with you! Makes me wish we were going on our cruise sooner than next October but it will be here before we know it (this last month since I started reading these boards has flown by). Can't wait to hear about your trip coming up soon.

Deb

Thanks, <B>DopeysGal</B>! Actually, since I have <I>two</I> short Wonder cruises coming up (with my grown nephew on 10/31 and with my mom on 11/10), and since I will be in FL for 5 weeks starting tomorrow and have a lot scheduled, it will likely be <I>late</I> Nov. before I post my new pics and journals. I'd rather do all the editing from my better workstation in ID than from my laptop in FL. :jester: But prior to that I may manage to post a few digital pics from the 10/27 MNSSHP, which <B>Alikat99</B> will also be attending and I hope to photograph. :teeth:

I think this thread is GREAT. It makes the time pass quicker because we are communicating about Cruisetobest II instead of thinking about it by ourselves. But I <I>do</I> try to avoid looking at the "countdown." That's the only time I realize it's so far away!

I'll be at WDW <I>a lot</I> over the next 5 weeks. So if anyone on the DIS spots me (I look like my picture and will have a lime green cat collar on my purse or camera bag) please say hello!

taswira,

Any chance of you being at WDW on Friday October 25th? We will be in the area before heading to the port. Would love to meet.

Dan

Hi Dan! Yes, it is highly likely I'll be somewhere at WDW on the 25th. Will you be at one of the parks that morning?

We fly in that morning. We are having lunch at ESPN around 1pm and then plan to go to EPCOT for a while.

Dan

Great! I could meet you at EPCOT . . . just name the time and place.

Hello Dan and Scott also taswira.
Dan there were some special 599 rates on the magic, but you had to cruise before the end of the year. The credit that you receive when you rebook is the 200.00 onboard credit. Mike

Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Chat...

Okay - Thanks to Chat Mistress, NativeTexan, I got the info about chat in the above link. Monday night's instructional chat this week is cancelled. (The nerve of a chat instructional person being in ORLANDO!!!) But the Thursday instructional chat is still on. OH DANG IT!!! I just realized the time and the day. I was gonna say I would be there too but it just dawned on me that it is being held the same time as when SURVIVOR IS ON!!

What to do...what to do....Hmm.. Maybe I'll record Survivor and watch later IF someone from our thread tells me that they will be attending Thursday night's instructional chat.

OR
We can just make an appointment for all interested parties to attend the following Monday's instructional chat....10/21/03 at 8 p.m. Again, I would want to know if people are interested and are going to attend before I commit myself (No comments to that remark puh-leese!)

This would be great fun guys. Even oldies who need to refresh their chatting abilities can join in. Let me know what you all think!

I already know DopeyGal's attendance depends upon the Giants getting into the World Series and when the games are but you other guys, let's hear from you!

Okay Taswira and Alikat - Excuse my Disney ignorance please but just WHAT is MNSSHP? I just know I'm gonna go "DUH!" when you tell me .
