Our gift was a Treasure Chest containing a bottle of wine, some sodas, cheese, sausage, crackers, chocolate, lollipops, etc. and additionally we found a medium-sized sportsbag with a sportsbottle from the Castaway Cay Club on our bed. But no petit-fours, no non-alcoholic champagne.

Mary,
what's up? Sending secret agents to my country? :jester: Do I have to get myself an Aston Martin with ejector seat and a Walther PPK now? - LOL

I think when we get much closer to the cruise and figure out exactly how many DISers will be on it, it will be easier to plan a party or find out what DCL can or will do for us. After all, it's nearly a year away and there's no telling at this point how big the group will get. I'm not talking about the DU group, but the entire group. Being a TA myself made it inappropriate for me to book with DU . . sorry.

taswira, Of course you are right. But can't help trying to plan anyway. I know there are lots of folks booking through their own TAs, Disney Vacation Club, Disney, and on there own. And I wouldn't want to sway someone to book with DU. I can't handle that kink of pressure.:p Still hoping the group passes the 200 mark.:bounce: :bounce: :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Twinave - I'm sure the group will keep growing (after the virus news fades from people's memories!) and I feel confident it will surpass 200. Still, I think late spring may give us a more accurate "guestimate" of the final count, which may still have additions through the summer!

There is always the possibility that when our count is firm, and if the numbers are that large, if an itemized list of passengers or staterooms in "our" group is presented to DCL, they MAY decide to do something for us. We can hope!

Shari

Hi Folks,

perhaps everyone can mail me where he/she booked and we put it on the list, too.
My remark about the 27 families booked thru DU was in no way intended to make anyone transfer their reservation to DU. I just wanted to inform the DUers, that there is a gift for them.
I think we should follow Shari's advice and contact DCL in late spring/early summer with our request.

Three threads before page 2 - That was close ;)

Cathy I emailed you a cleaned up version of the German Mickey.

Here is hoping the magic sails Saturday and that no one gets sick. Mike

Viking -- funny that you mentioned the 27 families b/c I checked our booking at DU and saw the same notice and thought that it was amazing. There's no way of knowing though how many of them are also DISers.

Glad everyone seems to have had a good weekend. Had planned on getting started doing the Xmas decorations but it was not to be. My DS (16) decided in the middle of the night Friday to stub his toe and while doing so leap up and land on the buckle of his book bag. It was about 2am that it happened and he screamed loudly enough to wake me up although at the time didn't know if I'd really heard the scream or just dreamed it. Anyway his room in the basement and I'm upstairs so he then spent the next few hours up and down the stairs getting bandaids, aspirin and consulting about the injury. Saturday morning when he woke up it was still hurting so we went up to the hospital to get it xrayed. Luckily nothing is broken he's just to stay off it for the next couple of days. He was very thankful that we hadn't gone to the hospital in the middle of the night (although it would have been emptier) b/c the doctor said that he would have put a stitch in the foot if we had come in earlier. My DS had a bad experience with stitches in his finger and doesn't want to get any more. The doctor who took the stitches out had a hard time b/c they were in so tightly so it really hurt getting the stitches out. Luckily it wasn't too bad at the hospital and we had it xrayed and looked at in about 3.5 hours. Got home in time to get ready for a xmas dinner so didn't get the decorations out and housework done.

Told my DS that it was unique excuse to get out of cleaning up but he said much as he hates picking up his foot hurt more and it wldn't do it on purpose.

Yesterday was a surprise party for my brother's father-in-law who just turned 50! He was certainly surprised b/c at first he wouldn't get out of the car and come into the hall. His wife had said she had to go the hall to drop off a key to the cupboard so he just said he's wait in the car for her. Quite funny actually.

My weekend -- busy but no closer to getting organized for Christmas yet!

Thanksgiving Hockey Tournament is over and went off without any major incidents during the tournment. All my problems were before it started. So only one more tournament Christmas and then on Jan 1, I am offically retired from the hockey tournament business. The only thing I will miss are some of the wonderful people who have worked for me the past 7 years.

Norm and I are leaving on Thursday night for a long weekend at WDW. We made plans in July to go to see the Christmas lights and shows, but until recently unsure if we could go. However, got the ok and will get zapped twice on Thursday once in am and then on the way to airport (didn't know they could do that, but if I wasn't illuminating before might be after the double dose). Maybe I can be part of the Osborne light display. We get back Monday around noontime so will be ok on Monday. We could never go over the winter since my boys were always playing ice hockey, so am anxious to see how WDW looks all decked out for the holiday.

Just wanted to check in and let everyone know I am still here, but have been to busy to post.

Nancy

Nancy enjoy the lights and tell Norm that we said hello. I believe that would be one incredibule sight.

We had to put another one of our pekes down tonight. That makes number 5 that we have had to put to sleep.:(

Looks like Disney is not the only one with the bug. Saw where a carnival ship had over 100 cases of the norwalk virus when it came into fort lauderdale today. Mike

Nancy, if you get the chance, while in Epcot, exit through the back and walk over to the Boardwalk Resort (5 min walk from Epcot) and check out their lobby Christmas decorations! Life size Ginger Bread Houses!!!

Mike, so sorry about the Peke! :(

CDNMickeyLover....DH has been at the lights/decorations all day and is still out there now (9:30 pm)! He really gets into it!

I might switch my res to DU. The gift sounds nice!

Hello everyone,

I am posting from work and just showed Bunny your post Nancy. She just laughed and laughed, also said to tell you hello.

I don't know what happened to Fussbudget today. He just started screaming after my DIL came into the kitchen from outside. She says she didn't step on him or hit him with the door but he was hurting. He was also 12 years old and blind. He is in a better world now. I loved him. He had long straight black hair that would drag the floor if I didn't keep him shaved. He was a real sweetheart with a really sweet disposition.

We have only 4 babies here tonight and one of them is rooming in with her mama to go home tomorrow. Then we will have only 3 and the powers that be will start pulling us to different areas of the hospital to work. YUCK! We all hate that. :( Another way we try to look at it though is "at least we have a job".

Will get off for now. Come on Oct. 11th! I need a break now! Wonder if I can get Mike to take me to WDW this weekend? :bounce:

Take care all of you. Kathy (Don't have a heart attack Mike, I am only kidding. ;)

Kathy--- I finally got around to sending Bunny an email last night. I'm glad I could make her laugh. Laughing is the best medicine. All of us should do it more. It must be hard to go from the nursery to work in other areas of the hospital. I know that if I had to work on a regular nursing unit after all these years, I probably could only function at a nursing assistant level.

Ave---What is the weather like in Fl? Will I just need jeans and no shorts? I've never been there this time of year.

Mary--- I will try to get over to Boardwalk. I love Gingerbread houses, but am not talented enough to make them. I have trouble just doing chocolate chip cookies. I widh we had time to go to all the hotels to see the decorations.

Well, I am also at work so I better get busy. At least it is a short work week for me.

Nancy

Sorry Mike....It's your very own red x mark...lol

Hi gang ... Hope you are all doing OK and busy getting ready for
Mr. Ho Ho.

Anyone want some *^*^ snow? Be glad to send it out.

This is the absolutely worst time of the year for our office. COLA's, new Medicare rates, etc. Not to mention we are short handed again or should I say still.

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH ... I need to win the lottery so I can travel from town to town and visit my DIS family. Don't worry.....I'd stay at a hotel!

Back to the grind.

Cathy with @C

Nancy,

enjoy WDW - If anyone deserved a great time there, it is YOU!!
Have fun.
We already have withdrawal symptoms 14 months after our last WDW-visit and 8 months after Disneyland Paris. Only 10 months to go!!!

BTW,
did anyone of you do Cirque de Soleil? We're thinking about booking the Dreammaker Package with Romance Plan before the cruise and Cirque de Soleil is included in the package.

Thanks everyone for your well wishes for our trip. Took the afternoon, catching up on the Christmas hockey tournament. I wanted to get the schedule up on the website and the volunteer list mailed before we leave on Thursday night. Then just need to schedule a final committee meeting on 12/19 and then have the tournament.

If anyone is interested, today I cancelled my 2/9/03 Disney Wonder 4 day cruise and that opens up the secret porthole room #5520. If someone wants to take a mid winter cruise and enjoy that room now is your chance. I made all these Disney plans last summer, so went a little crazy. So waited to last minute to cancel the cruise. Will be using that deposit money to put it on the 10/11/2003 cruise soon.

Well, back to hockey business.

Nancy

Eric, We saw Cirque du soleil a couple of years ago. La Nouba I believe. It was magnificent:bounce: All the seats are great, although I would think if you sat too close to the front you neck would hurt from looking up!
I too am wanting a trip to disneyworld! We were supposed to be going next week, but due to unforseen circumstances had to cancel. Would still love a quick weekend. Well, guess it would have to be at least four or five days since it pretty much takes the whole day to get there from here!

Spent the day Christmas shopping. Got the two computers for the kids and my oldest daughter a palm pilot. That is pretty much it except for the little stocking stuffers. William will be easy, I will just order him some pins from the new disney pin place!

Mary, how far is Panama City from WDW? Do you go pretty often. Our annual passes expire March 3rd. If anyone decides to go in January or February let me know. Maybe William and I would come down!! It would be something to look forward to.

My brother lives in Las Vegas and have been thinking of going down for a quick weekend. There is a neat Cirque du Soleil their also. Called "O" It has something to do with water.
Cher will be here the 18th of Dec. My oldest daughter got three tickets for us when they went on sale. It has been sold out since the third day after the tickets went on sale. I looked at them today and screamed! In order to get good seats she got three tickets but they arent' together! They are all in seat one but behind each other in a couple of different rows. Don't know if I want to do that. I know I could sell the tickets in the local paper.
Well, need to start dinner then start the "Karate run" three of the kids take Karate at the bottom of the hill from us, at different times!!! Oh well, at least Bill is off today and can do a couple of the runs. Have a good day and night.
Cathy from Pennsylvania, you are welcome to visit us any time. You can even stay with us! Although we have yukky weather and nothing nice to see around here;)
Elaine

Hey Elaine - As I said in my e-mail reply to your PM today, I will be in FL again Jan. 14 to the end of the month. As I mentioned, I have a few photo shoots and the 3-day Wonder AP cruise, but aside from that I'll be at WDW most days. So if you head to FL around that time, maybe we can get together.

Being in ID as you are, I am REALLY looking forward to returning to FL. They may think it is cold in central FL right now, but not compared to here!

Just got an e-mail from a friend in Orlando and he said it was mid-70's today.

DH and I have off til next next Monday (tomorrow is our 3rd anniversary) and we were thinking of driving down to Orlando for the weekend. But who knows, maybe we'll drive to DC or NY instead for a day or two. Mom and dad are visiting but they may leave tomorrow to beat the storm that's heading our way.
Then again hanging out at home watching the snow fall all around could be very nice too.
