Eric, I'll have to look again. I don't remember the link. Although I think I have a similar statue myself from one of my first few visits to Epcot. Of corse finding that my prove more difficult than finding a better picture on the internet. I'll keep looking though until I hear otherwise.

I think George and I are thinking of Sting rays next year. Heard good reviews from tablemates this year. We just hung out in town this year.

Probably want to do the ruins also. We did the cavern exploration this year hoping it would be a little cooler next year for the ruins since it will be Oct vs Sept. Of course it is Mexico so that is probably wishful thinking. Also heard wonderful reviews of the jeep trip.

I was on chat last night. To many peolpe talking at once. Kinda like when I was a kid at the dinner table.

Whats this about jeep tours. Do you drive them on the beach or back woods.

Eric How long is the autobahn, and what is at the end to stop all those high speed autos?

Hi all! Chat last night was great. Alikat and Cheese and Tulirich were there. Lot of other people too. It did move fast. Missed papa (Kathy). Dan popped in for just a second but had to leave. Said he was going to return but never did.

Chat didn't really stay on topic. Discussions ranged from who was the best 007 actor, to, is the cat juggler really just a figment of someone's imagination (well, I guess that last one qualifies for being on topic).

Hope little Katie gets better asap.

If anyone sees Dan, please tell him I'm looking for him.....

Mike,
please tell Stacey that she did a great job!!!!!!!! This is exactly what we're looking for, isn't it Cathy?

Nancy,
refers to a wonderfully sketched Mickey in Lederhosen which looks exactly like that on your mug. That was great teamwork!!

Rich,
the Autobahn expands over a length of about 7500 miles across Germany of which about 50% allow unlimited speeds. German cars are usually equipped with adequate brakes and SUVs are rarely seen, so there's no problem to stop at the end :p
Usually the speed becomes limited when you get closer to large junctions (Called "Cross" or "Triangle" over here) or Autobahn-ends. The speed limits start with 130km/h (82mph) going gradually down to 100km/h (62mph). In construction areas speeds can go down to 60km/h (37mph). Then we have large portions of so-called "Smart Autobahns" which are equipped with adjustable traffic signs formed by large coloured dot-matrices allowing to display virtually every traffic sign or speed limitation. These are controlled by computers and/or policeman to keep the traffic running.
And generally we have a "Recommended Speed" on the Autobahn of 130km/h (82mph). You are allowed to go faster when there's no speed limit, but after a ruling of our Supreme Court this can have severe legal consequences: If you are involved in an accident without your fault, you may nevertheless be considered at least partially guilty if the judge and certain experts can prove that the crash could have been avoided at "Recommended Speed".

Tuli -
From what I remember, there are 4 people/jeep and each is allowed a turn at driving. I don't remember if there was beach driving but I know there was off-road. I'll have to look for paperwork to get the real description.

Sorry to be such an infrequent poster. I will try to do better!

Sherri...we are just Mark Martin fans.

Capt. Marvins...we plan on doing this. We had reservations last trip, but of course had to cancell due to the hurricaine.

Kathy, glad to hear you are liking the NFN.Dose this mean more of the family will being coming in Oct???

Cathy, can't wait to see the logo!:D

Rich..nice to see you posting. I know what you mean about the chat room. It can get confusing at times!

Eric...hello to your Jager co-worker!What do the little dots over the "a" mean???

Nancy..hope you are doing OK.Thinking about ya :D

Got to go watch "The Santa Clause" with the kids.

Mary,
the dots above the "a" change the pronounciation: Without the dots the "a" is pronounced like the "u" in hunter, with the dots it is spoken like the "a" in bad. To pronounce Jäger in English like in German there is a nice little trick: Do you remember General Charles "Chuck" Yeager? He used that trick, by changing the spelling of Jäger into Yeager.

To everyone,
we're thinking about going to WDW for about 4 to 5 days before the cruise. Will anyone else of you be there?
After checking out the prices for on-way-rental of a r (Pick-up in PA, drop-off in FL) we decided to spent the three weeks before the cruise in FL again. We will proably share the time between the Ft. Lauderdale area, Cocoa Beach and WDW. The Space Shuttle is scheduled to lift off on 10/02/03 and we always wanted to see it, so we planning to be at theSpace Coast then.

Viking: I will probably be in FL for 4 or 5 weeks beginning 1 October. I'm sure I'll visit WDW many times, as usual. I am even considering (depending on budget) doing another Wonder cruise during that time. But I guess it would be a better idea to save up for spending on Cruisetoberfest II!

Hi Mary,

I had hoped to use the money at first, for taking us all on the cruise. I would love it if all my kids could go on just one cruise with Mike and me. However, I don't want to eat with them.:p I love them but I love meeting new people and eating with old friends. I know them, this would be a way for them to meet new people too! However, I have had two cancelations today and the new ones I got last week really don't need me and I am terminating. I am not going to "pad" my check. I have to sleep at night.:( Oh well... Now I am just going to pay off bills with it.

Nancy, hope you're doing well. I haven't been back to the hospital since you last wrote so I haven't passed your message to Bunny yet. I go back tomorrow night. YUCK! (not really, I do love my job)

Cathy, with a "C" hope your day went well. Hope your little paw is not too sore. I am thinking of you. Mike mentioned that today while we were being stood up at the homes we went to. Please tell Elijah we said "Hello" Did you get to tape him on TV?

Katie has an awful stuffy nose and cough. It is not RSV (I hope) and the vaporizer is running full speed. She is happy but has to breathe through her mouth so feeding is a little dicey.

Eric, Anja, I doubt that we can come down so early to visit. I don't think the budget would survive.;) My job might also be in trouble. Have fun though. Just think about us slaving away over our hot babies.:p We had hoped to do a back to back cruise, only now we are just happy to cruise. ;)

Hi to you Rosemary and Rich, Uncle Dan and Uncle Scott and everyone else. Come on October!

Kathy

Hi!
I'm not going to try to catch up right now, just checking in. We had my parents and one of my sisters here from Florida since Thursday, so I've been busy. Had a great visit!

I did read all the posts, I think, and I have a link to a report on the jeep tour.

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?threadid=248467

Hope this is the one being discussed.

We'd love to do the Tulum ruins excursion, but not sure if it would be suitable for a 10 year old and a 63 year old. I've read it's a lot of walking and some of it quite rugged. Even though our son is used to hiking with us, he doesn't always like it. This is a different one than the jeep tour, I believe.

Sorry to miss chat Friday night. Hopefully, we won't be so busy this week and I can register and join the chat.

Ok, I'm off... need to get some more work done while Rebecca is still napping.

Colleen

Hello All hope that everyone is doing well. Kathy and I went to see Harry Potter the other day. I didn't enjoy it as much as the first one.

Cathy hope that the paw is doing better and I sent you a PM about the logo useage.

Have to run. Mike

Things were looking up for a few minutes this morning. I got to see my two babies whose moms canceled yesterday. Then one of them said they were moving. When I asked where, she told me and believe me, it is a BAD section of town. One of my friends was there last week and a woman got out of a car and was shooting at a guy and cussing up a storm. Jackie just hung her head and didn't look. When I asked her why she didn't at least get the license number she said that from the time when "they" arrived here during the slave days that "they" have been taught to not see or hear anything.

We kept Katie last night and so I haven't had much in the way of sleep. She went on the visits with her grandpa and me today and ate in the car. It is past time for her bath so will close for now. Take care everyone.

Kathy With a "K":p

The new Harry Potter movie is great. We saw it this weekend and loved it, although we hate spiders ;)
Next week we will go and see the new OO7. I just bought the James Bond-DVD-Monsterbox: All 19 OO7-movies plus a Bonus-DVD in a extremely cool aluminum box. It's limited to 5000 sets for Europe/1800 for Germany and I was lucky to get one.

No license number? In Germany the cops would get you off the street within seconds. It is absolutely against the law to drive an unregistered and uninsured car.

Hi Everyone, Long day at work. Had a few problems. Glad to be home. Kathy, sorry to hear about your "mom" that's moving. We have a pregnant patient right now who's significant other will not even let her go into the bathroom by herself. She is 30 weeks and he won't let her get any of her bloodwork done. Long story, but very strange couple. I think she is in a DV situation, but can not get her alone to ask.
Been following the "sick" stories. I was sick on our 9/28 trip. GI upset, almost our whole trip. I just figured it was due to upset routine, new and rich foods, a Little too much alcohol, and the wave motion. Maybe I should write to Disney and ask for a refund! LOL:rolleyes: Later, Ave'

What Kathy was saying Eric, is that the woman did not copy down the license number of the other car.

I see that the number of sick people has risen to 85 now onboard the magic.

Anyone wanting to see the shuttle launch should use the state park next door to the holiday inn in titusville. It is a great place to view the launch as it is right across the bay from the launch pads.

People that are looking for thrifty prices on items should do their shopping in cosumel as it is cheaper than grand cayman. Mike

We head off for Wash DC tomorrow right after work. DH is going to take me in then get the car packed and ready, then pick me up and hit the highway. It will be odd leaving town without going home first. Guess I'll have to trust DH to lock up the house and finish the packing:eek:
I just checked the weather site and we may have snow flurries in Wash DC on Sat!!!
Everyone have a safe and joyful Thanksgiving!"See " you all when we return on Sat or Sun.:bounce:

I'm going to attempt to get caught up before starting my pies.

Kathy-- My daughter is doing fine. She's 24 now, graduated last year with a degree in music ed., married 2 1/2 years and has a 10 month old little girl. Pretty neat that you know someone that worked there. It's a great place... well, except for their emergency room. :( But, the NICU is wonderful! It's amazing how things have changed..... I was able to go VBAC with the next one 14 years later, in one of the new birthing rooms (not at Children's) where they bring in the lights, etc., in labor only about 4 hours and home 16 hours later. It was great!

I checked out Katie's hidden Mickey pic. How cute! Hope she's feeling better.

Eric-- We are thinking of flying in on the Thursday afternoon before the cruise and spending Friday the 10th at the Space Center.

I'll go through pictures soon and get one sent to you.

Cathy-- Hope your paw is feeling better!

Shari-- I read your trip reports. Sounds like you had a great time!

Mike--We thought the first HP was a little better than the 2nd, but our 9 year old liked the 2nd better. Either way, they were both great!

I bought the Ice Age DVD yesterday. Have been watching for it to come out since we saw it at the theater in March. Very funny movie.

Twinave--What an odd situation with your pregnant patient! Doesn't the guy realize he could be harming the baby by not having the bloodwork, etc. done? Also, what is a DV situation? I had no luck trying to figure out what that means.

Mary-- Have a fun and safe trip to DC! We have snow on the ground here, a couple of inches or so. Still enough falling that it has covered Josh's tracks to the bus stop this a.m.

I feel so sorry for the sick people on the Magic. It really sounds like the tummy bug we had here a couple of weeks ago. It swept through here like wildfire no matter what we did, isolating the sick person, hand washing, disinfecting everything. I'd never seen anything like it. Made me suspect that we might have been contagious for a day or so before showing symptoms.

Sheesh, I wrote a book! Off to bake some pies for tomorrow.

Take care and have a happy and safe Thanksgiving, everyone!

Colleen

Colleen, (that sounds Irish) good luck with your pies. I have to do some cleaning today and then I will make 2 pecan pies. Will do some cooking today so that tomorrow will not be so overwhelming.

If Disney has to take the Magic out of service for a week to break the cycle they will be in a no win situation. People will be mad that their cruise was canceled, and they will be mad if they get sick by Disney continuing to cruise.

Mike

Still here ..... Paw is a little better but if I drop one more *^* thing, I'll scream! Guess I was hoping to have more strength sooner than later.

:bounce: :bounce: Happy Bird Day :bounce: :bounce:
Don't eat too much (Yeah Right!!!) Take time to smell the food and enjoy your family or friends ... remember life is sometimes short.

Just wondering, Maybe we need to send the MAGIC some pixie dust to help them get rid of that BUG. Kind of hard to hype up the Disney Cruises when all that is in the news. The way Disney is so picky about things, I don't think it's their fault ... BUG got on board somehow.

We had some snow this morning but thank God it didn't make it too bad for driving. Suns out now and melting most of the stuff on the roads.

Working on something this weekend ... may have an announcement shortly. For any of the DIS Cruisears ... relates to the package.

Check on everyone later ... in the meantime TAKE CARE and DRIVE SAFELY over the Holiday weekend.

Cathy with @ C
