Eric,

It's good to be home with Anja.

Tina ;)

Thanx, Tina.

BTW,
you asked me to remind you in July not to forget to pay the Scavenger Hunt for Anja & me. We'll pay you back in October then.
Thanks a lot for organizing the Hunt -But unfortunately I must also assure you that your kindness will not make it any more likely for you to snatch the grand prize as the Windermere/Viking-Team will be invinicible :teeth:

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY!!!!

Hi Folks,
we'd like to wish you all the best for the 227th anniversary of the birth of your great nation. Have fun and enjoy the fireworks.

Thanx, Mike & Kathy.

Yes,
it is, but we have partly been in the Double-Digits for three weeks anyway, because we have a triple countdown:
-09/20 Arrival in Florida
-10/02 Arrival in The World
-10/11 Meeting our friends - Old and new

But now all our countdowns are in the double-digits :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Unfortunately my countdown for staying on the better side of 40 is also getting nearer to Z-E-R-O :( ;)

Glad you're back safely Eric.

Happy 4th of July!!!

Hopefully will take next week off. Not going anywhere and hoping that nothing will come up that requires me to come into the office but I've told my secretary to call me if necessary. There are a couple of things that might come up but we'll see. I'll stay positive. :D

Lots of hot sunny weather here -- almost too hot really with the humidity. Will have to clean the pool so that we can go swimming in it.

Haven't heard from DS this week (other than Sunday morning) and am taking that as a good sign. Don't really expect to hear from him although he's only ever been away for a week at a time before and he does usually call at least once. I imagine though that he's pretty tired out -- getting up at 6am isn't his thing at all.

Oh well back to work. Hope everyone has fun today and is having great weather.

Double digits yeah!!!!

Fiona

Ok, have to admit didn't pay a lot of attention because didn't think it was possible but now after talking to Jim it might be possible for us to go to the Baltimore meet -- can someone give me the details? I think it's August 2nd? Baltimore is a 9 hour drive but doable for us since that weekend happens to be a long weekend for us -- Monday is the holiday. It should also be possible for me to leave work early on the 1st.

Also was there a Columbus meet?

It's pouring rain here at the moment -- lots of thunder and Lily is lying under the computer table panting and trembling. She hates thunder and rain. I keep patting her and telling her it's going to be ok and hoping the rain will stop soon.

Hope everyone had a good 4th of July.

Fiona

Had to take Kathy to the ER this afternoon. She has cellulitis in her left leg again. They gave her an iv with rochephin in it and she has to keep her leg elevated with warm moist compresses.

Before we went to the ER she had me stop at the Lazy Boy gallery and she picked out a recliner, two recliners with a table between them and a small love seat. They are being delivered Tuesday. Ouch for the recliners we could have done another cruise;) Can't say anything though, because we have been needing furniture for quite a while. Also this will enable her to keep her leg propped up. Will also make for some fine snoozing in front of the tv. Mike

Papa, tell her to take care. My oldest DD got cellulitis a couple of weeks ago from a blister while at basketball camp. Within 9 hours from the onset she was septic and critical. 4 days in the hospital, multiple IV antibiotics and a lot of fluid then oral antibiotics out of hospital. It turned critical quick but now she is back full force. Hope Kathy does much better.

Matt glad that your DD is better. Thanks I will try and keep her doing what the Dr said. We are ready to cruise!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Everyone! So glad to be in double digits!!!!
Hopelea, the being at work vs. Chuck-E-Cheese is debatable. LOL
cdmickeylover, laundry story was great! Why do the children think that clothing just magically appears clean and folded in thier room?
@Goofynut, Mr. Bill gave us almost 2 weeks of rain. Sun came out today!
papa, glad hear you will be going on the stingray trip with us, and that @Goofynut will also be there. To bad we can't talk under water.

Kathy with a K..Hope you get well soon.
Scootersmom, I had my fill of kids birthday parties when I spent lots of time and money and no one showed up. Since my hubby and kids all have a bithday at the end of Sept. we have made an annual (the last 3 years) treat of gong out of town as a family. I found even a short weekend trip was less expesive then a birthday party.
Matty204, Glad your DD is OK. Must have been a long 4 days.

Hey everyone!!

How was your holiday? I hope you all had a good time celebrating our country's independence!!! We had a pretty good time. We packed the cooler and took Emily down to the St. Pete pier for the fireworks. And, we had an awesome view. We actually ended up at the park just to the left of the pier, right outside where they were lighting off the fireworks. Our plumber (who happened to be at our house yesterday morning to move our water heater for the new air conditioner that's being replaced next week) told Chris that he also helps out with the pyrotechnics for the fireworks show, so he told us the best place to go. And, he took Chris inside the fireworks area to show him how it all works. Now, Chris wants to get into it part-time too. Anyway, our view was great, the fireworks seemed like they were right on top of us, the only downside was that the wind was blowing the debris right onto us. We had black specks all over us when it was all done. But, it was worth it, for the great view. And, suprisingly, Emily loved them. She didn't flinch at the loud booms, and actually, she kept calling the fireworks, "pop-pops".

And, of course, because we had to park downtown St. Pete, the traffic was horrible, but it didn't take more that 1/2 hour to get out of the city. But, once on the highway, we came upon a young girl (maybe in her early 20s) stranded on the side of the road by her car. Apparently, she had already been there trying to wave someone down to help her for 30 minutes, but I think because of the holiday and everyone wanting to get home, nobody stopped. Anyway, we stopped and Chris figured that something happened to her alternator, and we called FHP to let them know. Well, 1/2 hour later, no FHP. Chris calls back and they say (in a snotty way) we already sent someone out there. So, we figured we'd just wait (didn't want to leave poor girl out there alone). Another 1/2 hour later, still no FHP. We call back again, they still said that they are sending someone. So, we call St. Pete police, and they call the FHP and find out that they had 2 emergencies and they had to take care of them first. So, we let the girl call a friend to come pick her up. She said that it would take 1/2 hour for her friend to pick her up, and she said we could leave. Well, I wasn't going to leave her there. So, another 1/2 hour later and her friend shows up, but still no FHP. I just couldn't believe that an hour and a half goes by, and no one came to help that girl. I'm just glad that we stayed, because there's no telling how long that girl would have sat there, had we not stopped. Anyway, we ended up not getting home until well after midnight, luckily Emily was asleep the whole time.

Well, there's my harrowing story of my July 4th.

Hey, I forgot to tell everyone, we moved Emily to a "big" bed this weekend. We finished her room about 2 weeks ago, and we got a bedrail for the bed. So, yesterday for naptime was the first time that she actually slept in there. She normally goes down very well for naps, but she did cry for about a minute when we put her in her new room. But, she did fall asleep after that. And, last night and today, she did the same thing, cried for a minute then went to sleep. I'm sure that by the end of the weekend, she'll be better about it. I'm sure it's a HUGE transition to change rooms after being in the same room her whole 21 months of life. But, she's transitioning pretty well, I think. Plus, I just love her new room, it's adorable. It's painted a very pale, creamy green, and her comforter is pale pink, with pale green gingham sheets. Very, very girly!!!

Well, better run, gotta put the munchkin to bed.

YIKES! Page 2!

DCL program on Travel Chanel was GREAT! I loved when they showed both ships side by side at sea. DD said "I remember seeing that!" I even taped it so we can watch it over and over!LOL!

Fiona...I am also considering the Baltimore meet. I have to see about a few things before I can commit. It is also about a 9 hour drive for us, so I guess Baltimore is half way between Charleston and Thornhill

Hi Folks,

the newest edition of The List is in your mailboxes - Check it out!!

Kathy,

get well soon!!! But I must admit that I'm kind of confused: Cellulitis is the term for Cellulite in German. So what is meant with Cellulitis in English? I suspect that it is Phlebitis, an inflammation of the vessels (Probably the venes) in the calf/lower thigh - Am I right?

Hi Everyone,
I missed the Disey Cruise Show.:(
Amy, Don't worry, she'll get use to it faster then you wll. :D
Eric, Cellulites is "inflamation of the skin".
Later, Ave'

PIXIE DUST TO KATHY!!!!!!!!

Sorry I haven't been around much, work has been taking its tool on me!

I need to cruise soon.

Hey Eric - I didn't get the list . . . again! :( My e-mail app must have something against the content (?????). :jester:

Hey Shari - I'm sorry that I didn't respond sooner, but I wanted to thank you for your kind words about Emily. You are too sweet!! Are you going to be around WDW the weekend of July 18-20? We'll be there for the weekend for my birthday, and we're even going to try to catch up with Colleen on Sunday the 20th, because that's when she arrives to WDW. Let me know, we'd love to see you again. If not this time, maybe another time before October. We're usually there at least once a month.

Take care everyone, and have a Happy Monday!!!

Thanks for all the kind words and pixie dust for Kathy. She is doing better.

We met Mary Jo, Sam and Sarah last night and they are fantastic folks. We are going to the Cracker Barrel for breakfast this morning.

Tina please add Kathy and me to the mid atlantic meet along with Mary Jo, Sam and I think Sarah. About a 12 hours drive for us, but we need to get away for a few days.

Cathy with @ C, Sam is coming to the meet so drag the big guy along.

Mike
