Hi everyone! Thought I'd post about the weather, too. :p Seems it has managed to rain nearly every day with intermittent breaks. So far today there is SUN but anticipating those "afternoon/evening thunderstorms" that are the norm for this time of year. That has kept me from heading to AK and EPCOT again to shoot some new pics for my "magicaldisney.com" site.

NASCAR fans: You may be aware that they had the BIG concert (Dale Earnhardt tribute with Sheryl Crow, Alabama, Hootie & the Blowfish, Kenny Chesney, etc.) Saturday night at Daytona Speedway. Guess there were thousands of people there, paying up to $1,000 pp. I was not one of them! There was a tremendous rain/thunderstorm during much of it. I was driving back from the mall down in Sanford, and could barely see anything out the window. Dangerous conditions. It cleared up somewhat later. The big concert is supposed to be broadcast on Fox TV on July 10. Not sure if it will be in all locations.

FYI to someone who PM'd me about this - The "better" NASCAR guys living here in Spruce Creek are Mark Martin, Mike Skinner, Kevin Harvick, NBC/TNT analyst Wally Dallenbach, and car owner Richard Childress. There are several others, including lower circuit guys, and I'm sure there are many I don't know about. Also, some NBA guy named Vince Carter lives here when not on the road, but I'm not into basketball so I don't even know what team he's with. Considering how much BB players make, I'm sure he has one of the local "mansions" in the community.

RellingTwin - I have not forgotten. He manages to be home most evenings by 7, but the opportunity has not yet presented itself. He's a busy guy! I passed him once as he was going out the front gate. I'll keep you posted!

Vince Carter!! My DS would be so envious. He's number 15 and plays for the Toronto Raptors. He's the star of the team and plays very well although he was injured for part of the past season.

DS called Sunday morning to say that he had arrived safely and that they hadn't done much yet. He also said that he didn't need anything but he'd let me know. Conversation was basically a minute and I think he only called because I had told him too.

Rained really really hard last night but it's sunny and warm today. Lily, the dog, hates thunder and spent most of last night panting in someone's lap -- she did alternate laps though.

At work today but not tomorrow as it's Canada Day. The holiday did not fall well this year although some people did get today off and so had a 4 day weekend.

Have a great day everyone!

Fiona

Rosemary ... Glad you liked the float. Mine worked nicely at CC, cause you can float and if you want to, still see the fishes under you. My biggest problem is remembering how to get it folded back up again.

Well Eric should be winding up his trip "across the pond" and MaryJo is just starting her vacation. Hope their travels are safe ones.

We had a really nice weekend weather-wise. Dumb thing is that we did a lot of chores around the house. With the weather being so Noah's Ark like we were really behind on our spruse up's.

Hope storm "Bill" leaves our Cruistoberfesters along and dosen't cause any damage. I was wondering who the weather service uses to pick the storm names? I looked up the list for the next 5 years and there are some reallllly wild names in the works. You got to admit Odette and Otto aren't used very much these days!

Well, work calls (or should I say screams)!

Thanks Tina.

I wonder how our wayward son (Eric) is doing in Colorado? Eric all of that American junk food that you are eating will make you fat:teeth:

Hope to see you all soon. Take care. Mike

Nope Mike,
I run every other day and we also did some hiking.

Sunday we went up on Pikes Peak using the Cograilway: Now we know why "America, the Beautiful" has its roots up there.
Yesterday one of our colleagues took us into the mountains and we did some target shootimg using several kinds of pistols, a carbine and a shotgun - That was FUN!!!!!!
Then we went to a cinema for Charlie's Angels II. Today it's Downtown Denver and tomorrow the Museum of Nature & Science (After work, of course!!) - and on Wednesday we will return to the Good Old World ;)

Anja didn't fill in for me, because computers aren't her thing, but she told me to say Hi to everybody.

Take care

Eric

It sounds like you have had a good time Eric -- are you sure you got work done???

Hope you have a safe flight home.

Still working and will be here a while. :(

Ya know, I was thinking, perhaps those of us in Florida could get together on a weekend somewhere. My suggestion would be Wolfgang Puck Express at Downtown Disney for lunch (I'd actually prefer the Sunshine Food Court at the Land pavilion, but I'm sure some people don't have park admission.

Any suggestions?

Jeff :bounce:

Eric, It sounds like you've had a nice visit. Have a safe trip home. Hi to Anja!

Taswira...The concert sounds like fun. Too bad the weather was not! I would love to see Hootie and the Blowfish. They are from Charleston/Columbia SC and have held several fund raising concerts here, but it seems everytime they play, I am unable to go for one reason or another:( Thanks for not forgetting about me
:D

Welcome home Arlene.

We finally got our boat running again and spent the weekend fishing/relaxing. The weather was great and the beer was cold!

Jeff, We would love to come to a mini-dis meet, but we are about 7 hours away. In the Fl Panhandle, AKA LA (Lower Alabama)! But I hope you southern fl. folks can get together.
Had fun with my visiting nieces and brother-in-law this weekend.
Did the Arcade thing, and the putt-putt thing. Now my DS thinks everyday should have some kind of planned activity! LOL Time to teach him how to unload the dishwasher!:p
Later, Ave'

Jeff - The Food Court at the Land sounds good to me, as does Wolfgang Puck Express at DTD. If any other FL Cruisetoberfesters can make it to either one, just let me know the time, date and place. :smooth:

Would you believe I received a summons for Federal Jury Duty in IDAHO to begin Aug. 1st? I'll be filling out the paperwork to get out of that one! I have a driver's license in both FL and ID. The latter will soon be disappearing! :bounce:

Shari

Jeff -

Chris, Emily and I would love to meet some more Cruisetoberfest II people around Disney. We have annual passes, so we could meet anywhere around WDW. Heck, you even live around our neck of the woods anyway. And, I'd love to see Shari again, we didn't get to spend too much time when we first met at MNSSHP last year. Emily was hungry and a little fussy when we met. Anyway, let us know. We will be at WDW (at the Beach Club) the weekend of July 18th - 20th (also plan on trying to meet Colleen on the 20th, as that's the day that she's arriving at WDW). Maybe that weekend would work.

Anyway, keep us informed.

Good morning all. Hope that everyone had a good evening and we are all another day closer to our cruise.

Looks like we are in the path of tropical storm Bill and are in for a good amount of rain over the next few days. We are starting to think like Art and Cathy, looking up the number of a good ark builder just in case.

Have a great day and we will talk to you all later. Mike

Emily was ADORABLE and I look forward to seeing her (and you) again! Keep in mind that this comment is coming from someone who has never had kids and (I know I may get knocked for this) does not say all babies are beautiful, so I am not one who doles out compliments to the parents of every child I see. :p Emily is PRECIOUS and (almost but not quite ;) ) makes me wish I'd had one of my own. And she is LUCKY to have parents who "do Disney" with her. :teeth:

Thanx for the good wishes, Folks.
I hope that "Bill" won't interfere with our flight - And that nobody of you is bothered by it.

Getting back in touch with you on Friday - Update will be done Saturday.

Have a good one

Eric

PS: Fiona, I clocked an hour overtime (Unpaid) each day ;)

Have a safe and pleasant flight home, Eric. It sounds like you've had an enjoyable visit to the U.S. (work and otherwise).

I know you are VERY busy, but I was just wondering if you still plan to do a website for Cruisetoberfest II? Have very many of us sent in pictures?

Take care,
Shari

Eric my friend, safe journey to you and your co worker. When you arrive home tell the family that we said hello. Mike

VERY poopy day at work!I had "phone duty" today. Why are people so rude on the phone when all I'm trying to do is to HELP! One lady got SO mad at me for asking what the phone number was to her phamacey so I could call her in a Rx!!!HELLO! There are over 100 phamacies in this town!!!!!Another wanted an order for a chest X-Ray (no medical reason, just feels like she needs one) then got mad when I warned her her insurance probably would not pay for it since it was not medically nessasary. She would probaby raise holy he** if she found out after the fact! (But nobody TOLD me!!!WWWAAAAAA)

Venting is good for the soul! I feel better already!
