My DS is 9. He loves everything Disney, but is actually a little shy around princesses. I would LOVE to do CRT so we can eat in the Castle and have some close-ups with some of the princesses. Do any of you ONLY have boys and still do CRT? I think he would enjoy it very much, but want some info from others who have been there/done that! Thanks a bunch!!!

Well I didn't do the CRT when I had just boys, but mostly because the ressie was so hard to get, and I didn't think that they would really enjoy it. However if I had thought that they would have gotten something special from the experience, I would have done CRT in a heartbeat! So I think you should definately take your son and ENJOY!!

Well, I don't have a boy....but, the last time we were at CRT Aladdin was there. He was so cute!!! My dd turned every shade of red with him!!

I would definitely take a boy....he can "flirt" with all the princesses!!!

Hi!

I say go for it! I took my DS's 9, 7, 4 to CRT for Breakfast in July and they absolutely loved it. Don't get me wrong when I told them we were going to have breakfast with the Princesses they were like "Gross!" , but just walking into the castle before anyone arrived and having breakfast looking out the stained glass windows.....PRICELESS!

I took both my grandsons this past October. They had a great time and really enjoyed the princesses. I would definately go again. :flower:

We took our son when he was 8 and he loved it. He loved standing with each prince or princess that came his way. I love the pictures of him blushing.

We took our then 13 yo and he thought it was so cool. He also had some alone time with Cyndi and a kiss on the cheek............KODAK MOMENT.........PRICELESS!!!

I say go if he wants to... Disney is for everyone.. even the princesses!!!!! I am sure they would give him extra attention too.. probably call him their prince!

I know everyones kids are different but my boys 9 and 11 would refuse to enter the park if they thought they had to see a princess during a meal ( girls in all forms are currently nasty ). Though one of my favorite photo ops is a lovely shot of my youngest with snow white at Epcot when he was about 5, but he gets very upset if we even mention it never mind showing it to someone. They do Character meals but have said that they are ok with Mickey but at Crystal Palace they are only going for my sake and the food. But you know your child if he is comfortable go for it, one day long into the future maybe I can have lovely granddaughters who will love Princess.

My 12 yo son wasn't thrilled, but since he has three sisters, he often has no choice but to be dragged along on the girlie outings. Honestly, he was fine just with getting to eat the food. We had a table for six and he sat on the inside so the girls were all on the outside of the table (where the characters could get to them easily).

At one point one of the princesses starting teasing him a bit about being out with the girls and not having his picture taken with the princesses. I have a priceless photo of THE FACE ;-). When Wendy arrived at the table she told ds he had to have his picture taken or she'd come and get him -- even under the table if it took that -- all said with a proper British accent. What a memory! As much as he blushes when we talk about it, there is still a smile in there!

I know my ds is 12 and yours is much younger, so the dynamics will be different, but I think it is a great experience. This year we will be at WDW on ds's birthday, but I'm not making him see the princesses that day -- just Minnie, who will be even better for the pics!

Only two more days until we leave... we can't take the waiting anymore!!! Can't wait to get back to that Disney Magic!

Sounds like we need to get ressies!!! I'm calling tomorrow in hopes that we can get in one of the days we're there. Thanks for all the replies--it has REALLY helped!! I didn't know they had some of the guys there too! Aladdin??? I would be SWOONING!!! I'd probably embarass my son then though!!!

We are taking our sixteen year old son in December and he is thrilled to have photos of himself with the princesses. It must be the age difference........mine thinks the princesses are "hot"........lol

:sunny: we went to crt in september with our two boys, one is also 9...and he loved it he thought it was so cool to see the inside of the castle and all of the medieval type of decoration inside. he was actually looking forward to this dinner and every time we look back at our photos or even show the album to friends/family he always says when looking at the castle that he got to eat dinner inside!

Ditto for boys...We have three, they loved the castle, the first time we wentPeter Pan and Capt. Hook got in a fight andspilled a whole tray of food!(too cool!) Alic and Snow White had quite an interchange while tying my youngest sons shoe, and alice was charmed by my then teenaged son; they were thrilled to be in the castle as well!!!

My 2 sons were 8 and 13 when we ate breakfast with the princesses...they went along with it because I was wanted to go so bad.

Well, they still talk about it! One of my favorite pictures of the two of them is a picture with Alice--so cute! At first they were pretty shy about taking pictures...until Belle and Alice got a hold of them! Let me tell you...the looks on their faces when they got all of that attention--it was priceless!

Take your son...he will love it! ;)

My DS11 dined at CRT this August with me and my DD7 and honestly, I think he was most excited about it. He had always said he wanted to eat in the castle one day. He didn't really care if princesses were going to be there or not. He loved being called my lord and eating salmon IN the castle. Of course the picture of him with Jasmine was priceless too (think beginnings of puberty+pretty girl+bare midriff and "bra type" top). What a HUGE smile and blush. LOL Tell him the princesses will be there and let him know he can have as much or as little attention as he wants and see if he's ok with that. I told my son, if you feel funny about going to the princess lunch you can always play it off like Mom made you go (with a wink). He could have cared less, he is a DISer in the making, brings a tear to my eye (and a vacant feeling to my wallet)

We took DS9 for lunch last month, mainly because the ressies ARE so hard to get. I took it as a challenge. :smooth:

DS thought it was fine. He had his photo with each princess (no princes - all girls) and they signed his book but he wasn't all that interested. It was a nice experience but not something we would do again. DS is our only child, so no siblings play into the equation.

I don't think he has mentioned it at all since we got home. We saw Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, and Belle. He saw Snow White and Sleeping Beauty at Epcot, so Cinderella was probably the most interesting one at the castle.

Yes, I only have boys and yes, we did CRT -- best meal of the whole trip for my youngest! We will be doing Princess Storybook lunch this time. My youngest loves those princesses and insists on seeing them. CRT was wonderful! We loved the view, the character interaction and the pictures are priceless. We saw the same Princess Aurora at ToonTown and she recognized my youngest from breakfast. Absolutely priceless!
