Which would you recommend as a Princess meal? We're newbs to this :rotfl:
We're looking at it for dinner.
Thanks :)

I'm trying to decide the same thing. I have ADRs for both but I'm worried it may be too "princessy"...

Ages? 1st time to WDW?

I will say do the castle once. We like the lunch a lot.

Askerhus has a great dinner imo including a great appy bar for people who will venture past typical American food. It's the better meal and certainly a better value. It also has lots of princesses, but Cinderella isn't guaranteed (but she was there when we were). Cindy is only downstairs in CRT, but she's there. We did both meals one year when Cindy was a requirement. saw her 2x=the best case scenario!

Photos in CRT were with Cindy and at the time in Askerhus we got Belle.

I like them both: Askerhus wins for food/ price and CRT for sheer "I'm in the heart of MK".

I only have a DS. He LOVED both. Cute boy with pretty girls--he was happy! There are no princesses at CRT dinner.

I saw lots of boys at both places and lots of adults sans kids at both. The princesses can come around and spend lots of time or they can say hi and move on.

He was happy to eat at the "castle" and the more country "chateau" in Norway.

I am a firm believer that everyone should have a meal at CRT at least once, just for the experience of eating in Cindy's Castle. But that is about the only way that CRT is better than Akershus.

However, we have liked our meals at Akershus much better. The food was all around better in our opinion. We also had much better character interaction at Akershus than at CRT. Also, if you are on a budget, Akershus is less expensive (as well as less TS credits if you are on the DDP). :thumbsup2

We did crt lunch and akershus breakfast our first trip. Both were good, but I loved the breakfast foodd. This past trip we only did crt breakfast and thought it was great. I love both. I want to try akershus for lunch or dinner someday

Hi there - we have been to both a number of times and they are both great. At CRT you will receive a picture with Cindy and at Akershus you will receive a picture with Belle. If you are on the Dining plan it is 2 credits for CRT and only 1 for Akershus.

CRT has a little more magic to it. You are in the castle and they do a little wishing type thing, where they hold up their wands or swords (which are given to the children at the meal) and make a wish. There are little twinkly lights in the ceiling when the wishing to taking place. All the princesses make their way to your table for pictures and greetings with the children.

At Akershus you will meet the princesses. they will come to your table for pictures and greetings with your children.

Both are a lot of fun. If you haven't been to CRT I would recommend doing it at least once. But Akershus is a great too.

Hope that this helps!
Enjoy!:thumbsup2

Yea i agree everyone should eat at CRT once for the experience, HOWEVER, i ate at both places for bfast about 2 weeks ago and DW and I decided no more CRT, Not worth it. Akershus has better food and better interaction with the princesses. CRT gave you an option of 3 items for breakfast one of whihc was yogurt and granola. REALLY??? for $50/head i am gonna have yogurt and granola I THINK NOT. Akershus will bring you as mucha s you want cause it is family style and you dont feel like you are being pushed out. Loved Akershus and will do it again in December and on the DxDP it is only 1 TS as CRT is 2.

I guess I tend to be in the minority, but I would not do CRT. I didn't even enjoy the experience. I felt like we were a herd of cattle from the very beginning. The food was not very good and I felt rushed the entire time!

I would save the money (or TS credit) and just do Akershus. Plus, if you are doing dinner, it's not the princesses. It's Fairy godmother. Or least it used to be.

I posted the same question a few weeks ago for our upcoming trip and we decided on Akershus. We will eventually do CRT, but decided to wait until dd is older. She is 4 now. We hope to go again in 2 years, so will probably do CRT on that trip. She loves Aurora and Snow White, so we figured we had a better chance of seeing them at Akershus.

If I had to choose only one it would be CRT.

I would do both one for dinner and one for breakfast. Two different parks and two different expierences.

Hi I have 3 boys and last yr I decided that if they wanted to do Charecter meals I was going to get a Princess dinner in, My boys at the time informed me Yuk we dont like girls:rotfl2: but i decided to drag them along to Arkeshus!!!
Wow was i pleased i did this, The food was Amazing Breakfast has so so many choices and i never ate anything that i thought was just ok!
My b oys that morning fell in love:love: the princesses all came over and hugged and kissed them on their heads or cheeks, they happily played along with the cuddles, and we had to take them all back again at the end of the holiday!!! The photo package that was free was simply beautiful we got much more then we expected, the place looked very pretty, our hot plate of breakfast items was constantly re filled along with our fresh juices, and being able to watch the smiles on everybodys faces was brilliant!
I will proberbly try CRT but the bad food reviews put me off for a 2 credit table service when i know i can have fantastic service food and interaction for 1credit :)

:goodvibes

Thanks, the girls will be 11 and the other one will be turning 5 while we're there. One has outgrown the princesses and the other doesn't have a HUGE interest in them--but that is growing.
We had ADR's for Akershus, because we are on the DDP and didn't want to use two credits, but I don't want to miss something "crucial" to the Disney experience, if that makes sense.
There are still ADR's available for our dates at CRT.

Never been to Disney (so take this for what its worth), but I too have struggled with this same question of Akershus vs. CRT for our upcoming trip...from what I’ve read in this thread and many others, its seems to me that generally CRT only gets recommended for one reason, and one reason along...it’s at the Castle, while Akershus get props for just about everything else...food quality, character interaction, cost/value, overall experience....the general debate/discussion comes across as one of actual substance (Akershus) over stylized hype (CRT)....I went with Akershus....
