I admit I haven't read through all 8 pages of posts so I apologize if this has already been mentioned, but I don't think $40 for an adult dinner is too much. DH and I have eaten at CRT for dinner several times and the bill has always been over $80 and we didn't both get dessert and appetizers (usually split one of each) as the new "set meal" will include (as I understand it).

What does concern us is how limited the food selections offered will be compared to the current menu. We're also disappointed that the DDE discount will no longer be applicable, but we usually only ate at CRT for special occasions, not every trip, so it shouldn't be that big of a deal.

I agree. When I ate there solo last month, I think I paid right around $40 for appetizer, entree, dessert and beverage. My highest concern is the limited food selections and whether it will be good quality. I just noticed that they're also giving away a free lithograph that is only available to CRT Dinner diners. I wonder how many people will take the free lithograph home and sell it on e-bay to make up for their dinner meal price.

I agree with the above posts that the menu change is the big thing. We switched from our breakfast ADR to a dinner ADR for the castle because we figured at least we would be paying $40 a piece for steaks! Then they changed the menu and took the fillet everyone recommended off! Now we are not sure rather to keep our dinner ADR or not. What I have done is to also get a ADR for LTT and if the reports come back after Feb 1st that the "creations"are cassoroles, we will cancel! I should also state that we have never eaten in the castle and only got ADR'S this time because of my 3 grandkids gong with us. I thought we should try the castle once! We'll see! Hopefully everyone will come back with glowing reports!

I will say we have never been disappointed with the prime rib at CRT so even if the "creations" leave something to be desired, we'll eat the prime rib.

Let's hope they don't change the prime rib!!! That's what we will est too but I don't know about my grandchildren. 2 of them were planning on steaks. The other is on the children's menu. Wonder what is on it, does anyone know?
My son and DIL will have to decide for themselves what they are willing to try!! :earboy2:

I am behind on this thread.
First Akershus -- now CRT.
I think it stinks.
I made dinner res for January and told them I was going specifically prior to the change.

We've never dined at the castle so next trip is a must even with the price increase. DD3 is a princess fanatic so we are going at least once. Although I am not too pleased with the price I'll be paying for just "mediocre" food at the castle.

We have never considered the food at the castle as "mediocre" and hope everyone doesn't start assuming the quality will go down when the price change goes into effect. I'll wait to hear the reviews after it has happened.

We will be having breakfast in the castle on February 15th....The cost for ten of us was $344.73... A hefty price for breakfast...but, I have four grandchildren..(the youngest one in particular) who really want to go....The youngest will be wearing the new Cindrella costume Santa will have brought her for Christmas... :love2:  :love2:

I am just crossing my fingers my adult sons and husband don't look at me (afterwards) as if I had lost my mind for paying that kind of money.. :rotfl:

I'll let all of you know when I get back....how the whole Cinderella Breakfast in the Castle experience was..... :smooth: :listen:....

:faint: 350$$$ Yikes!!!

I hopw you enjoy it. I guess you could say their only young once :teeth:

I am heartbroken that they changed CRT. I enjoyed the breakfast experience but thought it was already overpriced! I've had dinner there 4 times, 2 were wonderful and 2 were not. I guess its hit or miss. Now that it is a 2 TS resturant I will not go back. It is just not worth 2TS credits.

I just posted on another thread that I cannot see paying months in advance for a meal. I can't think of any meal that would be worth it to me, although I understand that to some families CRT is a must at any cost.

We have never eaten at the castle and I had the ressie made before all this happened!! Now I am rethinking it. I am on the dining plan so figured we'd still go but now that they have charged my cc for $318 I just think that is too high and will I have trouble getting it credited back? Seems like Disney has a lot of problems and I wouldn't doubt they will have trouble with that too! I will wait for others to report back about their experiences and in the mean time talk to my son and his family to see what they say. I'm sure he'll say "Mom, are you out of your mind!!" :rotfl:

We ARE going to do it at the new price.

I should also mention, however, that

A) we have never had a meal in the castle,
B) we are traveling with a 3-year-old who loves Belle with a passion and we are therefore doing all the things at the parks that might help us get some "Belle time" (CRT, Princess Storybook dinner, Storytime with Belle, the "Beauty and the Beast" show at MGM)
C) I have only been to Disneyworld twice in my life--in around 1976 and 1988. My DH has only been to Disneyland. We do plan to take DD again in around 2009. My point: if we went more frequently, we might be more budget minded, but since Disney is a rare treat for us, we are planning to do it up.

AND I thought it was getting outrageous at $19.99 for an adult a breakfast...which is at best, mediocre. Now that the princesses have been showing up in more places in WDW we haven't been to this meal in a while. With the new price increase, we'll definitely NOT return and WILL definitely scratch it off the list. I sure hope they plan on spending more than 30 seconds at each table for that amount. I agree, dinner is not a bad value, but $32.99 for breakfast!!??? Sheesh, hope they're serving lobster tailed french toast for that LOL!! :rotfl2: I couldn't imagine paying $22 for dd who barely eats anything for breakfast there cause she's too anxious to see the princesses. Sorry but we'll stick to greetings at Toontown and Epcot to see them.

We have gone several times in the past. I was going to skip it on our January trip and wait until next summer to do it again. For some reason, I thought why not try to get ADR's for January. Now I'm really glad I did. This will be the last Cinderella breakfast for us. DD is 6, and we let her know this was probably the last time. I know my boys are grateful that "Cinderella raised her prices!"

Mike
