CRT and DDP

We have reservations to CRT in Sept. and, as it is linked to our DDP, we did not have to prepay. We will be short two TS credits over our time there. CRT will be our first TS meal of the trip. When we go to CRT can I ask them to "charge" one meal to the DDP and pay the other one OOP thereby freeing up two credits for later in the vacation? I ran the numbers and paying OOP for one CRT meal will be cheaper than our 1TS meal later on.

You can decide to use the DDP for one person in your party, but not just pay half and use one meal credit. We did CRT last time and while it was pricey, it was worth it for the double hit as we used our OOP for a cheaper table service meal instead of CRT. Many diners just used cash for CRT and used their credits other places. It depends on where else you decide to eat. For us, our kids were little and we did few other TS restaurants with them, so using the credits made sense. We also had free dining, paying oop for less expensive places was a better deal.
