CRT 8 AM v CRT 5:40 PM

I am confused as to why CRT at 8 am is so coveted... am I making a mistake as I just reserved CRT for dinner at 5:40 pm. Are there differences that I did not know about. We will be using our 2 table service credits for the dinner and we have two little girls.

I have not yet been there for breakfast, but we did have dinner in April 2013. The food was good, and eating in the castle was extra-magical!

The 8am breakfast is coveted mostly because it allows you in the park before opening. This allows for pictures down Main Street USA and in front of the castle with very few people behind you. Now, of course, this is more valuable on a day that does not have the park opening at 8am with EMH!

We have an 8:05 breakfast reservation on our last day of our trip in May! Can't wait to try breakfast there!

Part of it is as the previous poster said, that time can get you in before the park is open to the public. Which in turn gets you good pictures. Another, smaller part might also be that for out of pocket spending breakfast is the cheapest meal you can get in the castle.

Plus you are in Fantasyland at park opening, so in theory you could beat the crowd.

I have an 8:05 am ADR in May so I can get in the park early and it's cheaper than lunch or dinner.

I've eaten at CRT for breakfast and dinner, and I preferred breakfast.

I agree with the everyone else...it's walking down an empty Main Street and taking pics in front of the castle without a crowd in the background, it's not standing in line if you rope drop, it's being out of the castle, in Fantasy Land, and in line right before the park opens.
