im going to try to get a reservation for my family. I have a 5 yr old and 2 yr old. Is it possible to make the 2 yr old 3 for this meal so he can get his own meal and a sword? I’d much rather pay for him to eat then try to make him share my food that I know he won’t eat...

They will give him a sword even if he doesn't have a meal. I have never eaten there with a little one, but have read lots of reports that under 3 kiddos are offered food there at no additional charge.

Make the reservation for all of you. You do nto need to "make" your child any age other then his age. You can always order a meal for yoru child and the server will gladly order it. I am not sure I wodul rely on the child getting his own meal at no charge, but if that occurs, that is a nice dusting.

I just wasn’t sure since crt is a pay in advance meal if they would allow us to pay for his meal at the time. I wouldn’t expect to get the meal for free at all. I’m totally okay for paying which is why I wasn’t sure if I should ask to charge him as 3 before getting there

Thanks!

No need to do that. You can always add on when you are there. If you want to order his meal when you book you’ve can do that as well.
I knew you were willing to pay for him, and would do so as well.

We were on the dining plan twice when we took our under 3 GS. Several restaurants over and above the AYCE places insisted that he got a free child's meal or child's side or app I guess. Via Napoli is the only one that I can remember at the moment. We were always able to order for him off any menu and pay out of pocket. I understand what you mean about it being prepayed and the gratuity is included.

I was curious to see what question you had waited 2 years to ask. :)

When I saw that it was actually a question about a 2 yr old then I couldn't help because we didn't visit until our kids were 7 and 9.

Haha I see that now .

We went to CRT twice last year with our two year old. Both meals he received a meal free of charge and also a sword or wand.

Akershus did the same. They both said something like “little princes eat for free in the palace!”

We took my daughter when she was just shy of 2 - they brought her a full meal (no questions asked) and a wand/wishing star, no charge. I even asked (because I was fine with paying - she's a good eater) and was told no charge for her.

We went in 2016 with my 2 year old son and nothing was offered to him. I should have asked to pay for his meal because he ended up eating most of mine!

That's actually a very interesting question. I am taking my 2-year old in March for breakfast while my husband takes our boys and does some of the "big kid" attractions. I didn't even think that she would be able to get her own meal at no charge, I just assumed she would share with me. It's fine if she shares with me because we are honestly not there for the food:)

I have been to CRT with a child under two a handful of times. I have three kids, and we typically go to Disney once or twice a year. While we don't go to CRT every trip, we go every other trip or so. Every time I have had a child under two, the server at CRT has brought that child the same meal as the other child(ren) for free and given them the wand/sword. We didn't even ask, they just did it.

We were there this past July and I had read that my DS who was 2.5 would likely be offered a meal, sword without issue. Hoped this would be the case but figured he could always share with his 5 year old brother if need be. When we got there, they gave him his own sword and wishing star, but the waitress we had was really rude insistent that we would have to pay full price for him to even get a glass of milk. (Full price was like $50-$60 if I remember) We decided that we would just have the two kids share a meal and ordered the youngest a cup of water. I would have been fine with this, however then a different waitress for the table behind us had two kids under 3 and she asked the parents what the kids wants and told them they were entitled a full meal just like everyone else. So I guess it is up to the discretion of the wait staff for what your under 3 kids receive. It was cool to eat in the castle, but this was a one and done for us.

You should have asked to speak to a manager when they wouldn't even sell you a cup of milk for less than the full meal price. Sorry you had such a stinky server.

our "under two" kids are usually offered something.. cheese and grapes or a smaller portion or something. I think your idea of booking as you would and being willing to pay if needed is a great choice

Thanks. He will be 2yrs 8 months ...and he’s tall for his age so they will probably question his age on me anyways ha. But the way he eats now cheese and grapes would make him happy ha but yeh I’ll pay no issues I just was concerned with the normal prepay if they would allow us to add on. It’s so interesting to see the varied options people were given!
