Thinking of taking a quick trip beginning of May. How are the crowds then?

Probably wonderful! We used to travel after Easter, but before the end of school, and while you got SOME crowds, it was mostly light. There were days in Epcot where I wondered where everyone was.

Also, while it's hot, it's not oppressive, usually, and not yet humid.

It's a fantastic time to visit.

We love May! Gone several times and headed back after my daughters graduation on May 24th...It is warm, but the air is not so heavy and humid yet and the skies are usually brilliant blue and gorgeous! Epcot has never looked more beautiful! The crowds start to increase, but still manageable and we never have any problems doing all we want to do without any hassle. It does get busier headed into Memorial day weekend, but we still have a blast! I love May! Last year while at Epcot on the Wednesday before Memorial day we practically had the WS to ourselves! It was fantastic!

Great outside of Memorial Day. Been there several times in May and looking to go again this year.

We always go the first 2 weeks of May and its wonderful! Crowds are good and the weather is gorgeous. In 2 weeks, it rained 1 day for 5 minutes! It can be hot, but at least you don't get the humidity like the summer.

All good to hear! We're going for our first ever springtime visit on May 9-16...can't wait!!

I would love to try May. I have heard the first two weeks are lovely.

I've been in May and I'm heading back this May from the 15th-20th. Crowds were not bad at all and the weather is beautiful. I'd advise going then:)

Shhhhhh....................
That's a secret...
Don't tell everyone how nice the weather is and how light the crowds are for May.
Then they'll ALL go in May and it'll be as crowded as the Summer months.

ATTENTION EVERYONE.
Allison 93 was only joking about the nice weather and the manageable crowds in May.
It's actually ungodly hot, rains all day, every day, and people are packed in like sardines.
Disney charges double for food and lodging in May and all but five of the buss's are down for yearly air conditioning maintenance and tire flushing.
The Monorails are taken off of the tracks in May so they can polish the wheel bearings on the cars, the ferry from the TTC is in dry dock to have the barnacles removed from the hull, and all park parking lots are closed to repaint the parking spaces.
Also Disney has a special for Brazilians this May and the entire city of Sao Palo will be at WDW then. (About 15 million people.)
So.....
Why not plan to visit later in the year?
Say, after Memorial Day. :D

Great to hear. We are going to be there May 7-14 and hoping for attendance to be on the lighter side.

We went the first 2 weeks of May in 2014 and loved it!

We found the crowds to be very manageable and the weather perfect.

We would definetly choose to go back in May again.

Have a wonderful trip!

We went May 9-16 last year and the weather was perfect. Locals said it was unusually hot, highs around 90, lows in the 60's, humidity was low though. We wore shorts and tee's everyday. It rained one day while we were there and we saw it coming so we went to see Mickey's Philharmagic and by the time we got out it was sunny again. We went to AM EMH at AK and I have a picture of the Tree of life from the entrance bridge and there are less than 20 people background. We would go back in May anytime.

We'll be at WDW from April 30th through May 13th. I picked those dates based on an amalgamation of data from Touring Plans, EasyWDW and the Dads Blog calendars. It's starting to sound like I picked correctly for lower crowds and nice but not TOOOOOO nice weather.

We were there 2 years ago for the last few days of April and first few of May. Crowds were very manageable. The weather -- which is always going to be hit or miss -- was pretty dreadful. I believe we arrived on a Monday and it started pouring when the plane landed and didn't let up until Wednesday, then poured some more most of Thursday and Friday. I know a lot of people talk about how empty the parks are when it rains but I didn't find it too enjoyable when the rain is coming down sideways and in sheets and you are soaked despite the world's best poncho.
