Welcome to the DIS, SplashFamily, I'm very glad you found us. I hope you enjoy planning your trip.
Late March is pretty crowded because of Spring break. I've never been as early as March 11, though. That might be less crowded. It all depends on when Spring Breaks start this year.
We have been in mid to late March the last two years. In 2001, it wasn't too bad crowd-wise (not as great as the fall, but not bad). Last year, however, Easter fell at the end of March, and it was crazy! I don't think I'd do that again! We will be down this year starting March 17, and I'm hoping that the crowds will be okay.
We've been the 2nd week in March twice. The crowds are moderate but with FP and planning we get everything done that we want to. Usually by 1 or 2 it was pretty crowded and wait times often exceeded 60-90 minutes on the popular rides. The weather has been great with very little rain and warm and not hot. According to some of the crowd charts I've looked at (in my Disney planning books) 2nd and 3rd week in March is pretty comparable to summer crowds (but not peak summer crowds like July 4th). However, Easter is late this year so it may be slower than normal until the first week of April. 2002 was much more crowded than 1999 for us in March and I think it may have soemthing to do with when Easter falls. I'll be able to compare it better when we return from our first sumer trip in June. Have a great trip!!
