I am going July 8-19 I was wondering how the crowds will be? Should I change my trip till early August?

Hi,

If you are going in summer and want to keep the crowds manageable, go after August 15th when many schools are back in session.

July 8 is at the end of July 4 week so it will be very crowded that week. In fact, it will be very crowded for most of July, although the first two weeks are always the most crowded.

We are from the UK and have to go in the summer because of the school holidays.
As Bob says from mid-August onwards whilst it is still very hot the crowds are much lighter, we had no problems at all last August.

In my opinion the heat and crowds mean if you can avoid July I would do so.

When we were there last July (starting on 7/16) it was not that bad. I was really afraid of how bad it would be, but we were pleasantly suprised. Enough that we are going again this year and next in July/early Aug.

Touringplans.com has most days listed as a 9 on the 1-10 scale. That means that the peak wait times will be between 85-94 minutes. At least that's what they say. I hear they are pretty accurate too.

We're going July 25-August 3 this year, and we're anticipating huge crowds, but I think we'll manage OK. We usually go the first week of June, but we couldn't manage that this year, and since Nikkie teaches, we have no choice but to go during summer.

Will it be hot? Yes.
Will it be crowded? Of course.
Will we still have a great time anyway? Most definitely! :cheer2:

The crowds in summer are usually pretty big. We have been 3 times in July and we do find that they seem to get bigger and bigger as the years go by. But even with the heat and the crowds, I LOVE Disney World! My kids and DH have a harder time than me with the heat. The crowds, I can manage because I know my way around the parks.

Would I go again in July? ABSOLUTELY!

We have been to WDW the last 5 summers in either mid-July or early August...

Phenomenal crowds...

Stifling heat....

Still magical...

My wife compares our summertime WDW visits to childbirth...you don't remember all the pain, you just revel in the awe and magic of the moment!

Would you mind seeing what they say about the second half of August. Just to compare. Thanks!

We went 3rd week of July last year and I have to agree with the others, hot and crowded but we still loved it!

I love Disney in July! The parks are open forever and it's hot :sunny: I have about a foot and a half of snow outside that has fallen over the last few hours and had a treacherous drive home from work today, so the hotter the better for me.

Anyway, if you utilize fast pass and take it at a leisurly place July will be great.

We are going July 4-9th and are concerned about the parks being "maxed out" where they don't let anyone else in the parks. Does this happen? We are staying at POFQ and I remember hearing something about having a MYW pass and staying at a park that they had to let you in. Is that true? Should we be worried about getting into the parks? I am getting nervous!! :confused3

This is from http://www.touringplans.com/BestDays.htm

Looks like just about every day you'll be there is a 9 which means super crowded (1 being the least and 10 being the most). We went in July of 2003 and I'll never go to Florida in the Summer.
We like May the best.

sure no problem...

The second half of August is rated at 6 & 7 which means wait times of 55 - 74 minutes for peak attractions.

This list can also be found on http://www.touringplans.com/BestDays.htm

Okay, no offense, but what kind of question is that ??? It is the MIDDLE of summer, right after a holiday, it WILL BE CROWDED....... no doubts !!

Enjoy yourself though, and just be prepared for lots and lots of people !!!
