Greetings...

We are all set for our trip Dec. 8-14, staying at the POP.

I was wondering....what type of crowds can we expect during this time frame?

Are most attractions/shows open??

Thanks in advance!

Hi there. We went Dec 17-21st and yes, most attractions are open. The crowds were light except on the weekends and during the Christmas party. That's another thing. Check the dates, because on nights that MVMCP is held, the MK closes at 6:00. It was every other night for us. Don't miss the candlelight processional at Epcot, absolutley beautiful. But opt for the later show, the darker it is, the better. Also, check out the Osbourne lights at MGM, also spectacular. Each night there is also a tree lighting at each park's themed tree around 6 pm. One other thing to remember, the weather is iffy so pack for all temp's. It's a very magical time of the year, you'll have a great time! :wizard:

We are going to be there almost the same days as you are...trying to hit the tail end and after Pop Warner. From trip reports that I have read, and from others here on the boards, it seems like things are pretty managable...I tried doing a search for december crowds, and I think there are several threads on it! We'll be right there with ya! :Pinkbounc

We were at WDW 1Dec-14 Dec and the crowds were low, for the most part. Not as quiet as mid January, but not bad at all.

T&B

Time, visiting at that time of year is very special.Weather is good and the parks and resorts all decked out for holidays is great. All the special events like MVMCP,CP,Osbourne Lights plus the special live shows, you will have a great time crowds will low to average. :goodvibes ::MickeyMo :sunny: :flower:

Oh you're going at a great time!! We went this past December from the 4th - 11th! Crowds were low, weather was great, and everything (except for IASM) was open!!!

It's such a wonderful time to go, that I don't think we would ever go at a different time during the year. We were there last week of November, first week of December and it was gorgeous. The crowds were a little heavier then past years, but that is to be expected because more and more people are starting to go around that time. Have fun!

Greetings from Choctaw! We have gone the first week of December for at least 10 years now. The crowds are not that bad. If you do have a busy day the beauty of that time of year and the comfortable weather more than makes up for it in my opinion! We will be right there with you on our 36th trip. :earsgirl: :earsboy:

Hello from Norman, OK :) That time will be fine. It is a great time to go IMO. I have gotten use to going the first 2 weeks of January now. All the Christmas decorations are still up which is kind of nice.

WOW! 36 trips!! That's amazing!

This will be my second trip....I went in 1985 with my parents. This will be my wife's first trip and my 7yr old daughter's as well. (her first plane ride too)

I've gone absolutely "planning" crazy...trying to find reviews on EVERYTHING. There's just so much to soak in I don't want us to miss a thing!

Hello from Moore! How's the weather all the way down there in Norman?!? :rotfl2:

All of this positive talk is great to hear. I have heard how bad it was this past December with the crowds I was starting to rethink our plans.

My DW and I will be celebrating our 10th Anniversary Dec 4-9th.

See you there!

Don't worry, it was crowded at all! :flower: Some people have said that they will never go during Pop Warner week ever again but I didn't even know they were there?? December is a fantastic time to go to WDW!

We were there last year December 13-22 and it was great. A little crowded on the weekend at MK. Your going to have a wonderful trip...we're going November 29-December 4 this year. Hope you have a great trip. Happy planning. :earsgirl:

I realize that the information could change, but for the most part, how late are the parks open this time of year? We will be there Thursday, 12/8 thru Wednesday, 12/14.

Thanks!

How bad do you think 12/24 thru 12/28 will be? That is when we will be there.

I don't want to start another debate, but you have to consider Pop Warner competitions, which are usually scheduled for the 1st or 2nd week of December. Value and Moderate resorts are overrun with thousands of ill behaved cheerleaders and football players.

I was there 2 years in a row for PW and will NEVER return during that time.

According to their web site, PW is scheduled to be in Orlando December 4-10.

Here's the link to their online calender:

Did you encounter problems mostly at the value/moderate resorts or were there problems with them inside the parks as well?
