Crowds from mid/late April?

My Dad has mentioned to us all yesterday that he's thinking about a holiday to the World next year at some stage. We usually go in October/November but he fancies a change.

We've checked all the dates & Easter is April 8th & Easter break for us Brits is for 2 weeks from March 31st so he wants to avoid that time aswell as the tail end of the Spring Break crowds.

What do you guys think of mid/late April for 2-3 weeks? Will it be as crowded/busy as early April? We've checked the Disney US site (since we almost always book through it) & there's toones of availability at the moment. Also, Is the Flower & Garden Festival in Epcot still on then?

There is a website that predicts crowd levels for every day of the year up to a year away. You have to pay to access it or it's free if you buy the book Undercover Tourist. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to link to the site here. Anyway, based on that site we have decided to go from April 15 - 22. The predicted crowd levels seemed moderate that week compared to the month before. I did not look at May because it is too late for us.

Mid/Late April should be awesome since it's after Easter and most spring breaks. The weather is usually wonderful that time of year as well.

Dh and I went at the end of April in 2006, it was after Easter so those crowds were not there but a lot of the northern states have their spring break at that time and it was very crowded. We usually go the first or second week in May and there was a huge difference for us. If you utilize fast pass and plan ahead, you should be ok but I felt it was crowded.

It probably will be very late April - we're thinking either April 21st or 28th for 2-3 weeks so most of our holiday will be in early May.
