I will be at WDW May 31 - June 10. Does anyone know what the crowd projections will be. I was hoping that going to the parks mostly during the week might be better than weekends. Also, hoping that the crowds for Memorial Day will have fanned out. Any projections? Thanks.

:wave2: We will be there May 29-June 9. We have been visiting WDW during early/mid-June since 2002. The crowds during the first 2 weeks of June are much more manageable than the crowds starting in mid-June. DHS will be more crowded on Fri-Sun due to Star Wars Weekends. That park will also be more crowded on the days Fantasmic! is offered. We usually try to avoid MK on Mondays - I read that many people start their vacation on Monday and MK is the first park they hit. We have found MK to be much busier on Mondays than on any other non-EMH weekday. We visit Epcot on the weekends and visit the other parks during the week.

Hi,

We will be there almost the same time. I had gone ahead and made most of my plans, not really knowing about the crowd calendards. We are traveling on Monday, May 30. Here is our plan. It will be myself and DD (13). We are staying at POP.

Monday 5/30 traveling
Tuesday 5/31 Animal Kingdom with breakfast at Tusker House
Wednesday 6/1 Magic Kingdom - Lunch at Chef Mickeys
Thursday 6/2 Hollywood Studios - Lunch Prime Time, Dinner Hollywood and Vine. Fantasmic that night, so it might be a bit more crowded.
Friday, 6/3 Epcot - Breakfast - Akershus and Dinner at Teppan Edo
Saturday, 6/4 Water Park - Not sure which one. Dinner at Sci Fi that night
Sunday, 6/5 Downtown Disney - not sure what else
Monday, 6/6 Universal Studios
Tuesday, 6/7 Universal Studios
Wednesday, 6/8 Magic Kingdom - Breakfast 1900 Park Fare and Dinner at The Plaza
Thursday, 6/9 - Breakfast at Kona Cafe. Not sure what we will do. Either rest or go back to park of choice.
Friday, 6/10 - Hang out at Hotel - and sadly time to go home.

I lucked out some with EMH, but I didn't really know about that or I might have planned around it. Where are you staying? I was hoping that going through the week would ease the crowds. Not sure about Universal.

Thanks.

Wow... that calendar is higher than Touring Plans for sure.
Any ideas which one is more accurate?

The easywdw calendar has an interesting take on the effect that Gay Days has on crowds; even recommending MK for June 4. We have normally avoided the park chosen by Gay Days thinking the crowd would be heavy but I've wondered how it really plays out.

My FL resident friend actually told me we should move up our trip a week so we would be there on the Gay Days not the week later (this isn't possible, kids aren't outta school yet)...She said they love going then b/c the crowds seem alot lighter and not as many little kids. :confused3 Don't know how accurate that is.

Where are you staying?

We are staying at the Beach Club Villas. During the first week of June crowds should be relatively low since most schools have not started their summer vacation -- especially with all of the snow. We are in Texas and our kids are in private school so they are finished by Memorial Day. The other schools around us are going until at least June 3rd due to the snow days they have to make up.

Our schedule is:
5/30 - Grocery store run and DTD
5/31 - Epcot with lunch at Le Cellier (DD#1 is graduating and requested this as part of her graduation celebration)
6/1 - MK
6/2 - DHS
6/3 - AK
6/4 - Epcot with dinner at Akershus
6/5 - DHS (some friends are joining us starting 6/3 so we are taking them to check out SWW)
6/6 - MK with dinner at WCC
6/7 - AK
6/8 - MK with breakfast at CP

Looks like we will be in DHS together on 6/2 and MK on 6/8:thumbsup2

The first week of June I wouldn't worry too much about EMH; the crowds don't start picking up until later in the 2nd week and it starts getting busy during the third week of June.

I would recommend going back to Epcot on 6/5. We usually spend one entire day in Epcot just doing Future World and Innoventions. The second day we slow down and just enjoy strolling around World Showcase. There is a lot of live entertainment that is worth seeing in Epcot.

We have never been to Universal so I don't know anything about crowds there.

After going to Disney World 2008 and 2009 my DH wouldn't let me return in 2010. We will be at MK June 8th. I'm so excited. Jumped online this past Monday and actually got lunch at CRT!! I hope that means MK will be light that day since there was actually a table available.

CRT maybe, but not Le Cellier. :confused3 Tried over a month ago for reservations anytime from 5/26 to 6/5 with no luck!

Try again - I was able to get a lunch reservation for the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend last week. I had been trying off and on for weeks - and never found a LC reservation. One day, out of the blue, there one was! We will be there 5/27-6/11. We were at Disney the same time last year. It was crowded, hot and rainy last year, but we had a great time!

We arrive 6/1 staying at BLT

6/1: AK
6/2: MK
6/3: Waterpark/pool
6/4: DS for SWW
6/5: EC for DD 13th bday
6/6: TBD. Maybe DS. Depart that night

We visited last year the first week of June. Very hot and humid, but crowds didn't seem too bad. Extra hour evening crowds were very low, a great time to do the big rides!

We have always experienced lighter crowds during the Gay Days period than the week after. I think this is due to there being more schools out for summer as each week progresses through the end of May and into the middle of June.

My post above was addressing the crowd level for each individual park during the Gay Day events and which parks are less crowded on each day. We have always avoided the MK on the 1st Saturday of June thinking it would be extra crowded and usually avoid the other parks on the day that they are the designated park for Gay Days. My first priority is to avoid parks with Extra Magic Hours because of the impact that has on crowd levels.

We went in late May/early June of 2009 and we thought it was a great time to be there! Definitely lower crowds than late June, July, or early August! I would still classify the crowds as moderate, but we definitely found it doable. The weather was great too. Have a great trip!

we went that same time frame 2009 and it was FABULOUS. Studios was crowded for Star Wars Weekend so skip if not interested in SW.

We'll be there May 30th (Pop), then moving to AKL May 31st - June 5th. I have never been this particular week before but have gone the 2nd and 3rd week of June. It's hot but crowds weren't that bad. It can be stormy then. I remember trying to get to an ADR in Japan one evening and it was a gulley washer! Walking WS we had rain up over our ankles and lightening cracking bad.

Our schedule for the week:

May 30: Arrive around 2:30 after getting off ME. Check in and CRT for dinner.

May 31: DHS (DGD wants to see F! and we're not hopping. Do have MM F! package though)

June 1st: MK

June 2nd: Epcot with lunch at Chelfs de France.

June 3rd: AK then maybe DTD if we're up for it or hang out at resort

June 4th: Our last day and I told DGD she could pick the park we go too...

June 5th: Go home.
