Crowds between Thanksgiving and Pop Warner???

I've seen discussions about this in the past...but I didn't care then! Last year we went the first weekend in December and had free dining. This year, if the deal is more like the stay/play/dine, it'll be blacked out because of the football championships. With free dining, as long as you checked in before it ended, you were good for the whole vacation. S/p/d doesn't work like that. So...if we go Thanksgiving weekend, when will the crowds clear out? Will it be back to normal on Sunday? Monday?

I go that week every year. Saturday is still busy, but a big check-out day. It is still crowded on Sunday at MK and DHS; AK is your best bet.

It ramps up later in the week for the xmas parade taping.

This will be a unique year though with the opening of FLE. I cannot begin to imagine how that will impact MK.

We arrived on the Saturday after Thanksgiving last year and went to MK on Sunday and had the most amazing day. We arrived shortly after the park opened, grabbed a quick breakfast at the Main St. Bakery, watched the street performers with virtually no one else in the vicinity, and spent a good couple of hours walking onto all the Mountains before the park got busy at all. One of the best days I've ever had at Disney (which is a great day by any standard).

The rest of the week was fabulous too. We avoided MK on the day of the parade taping but our friends went because they had a lunch reservation at Tony's. They said Main St. was mobbed but lines weren't too bad because everyone seemed to be at the parade.

Totally agree that FLE makes it a bit of a crapshoot this year.

We were also in MK for that Sunday last year, and had an absolutely wonderful day too! :goodvibes We are going back for the same week again this year, and I agree that FLE makes it unpredictable. We just plan on getting there at rope drop and making the most of the mornings. Either way we'll be in Disneyworld, so crowds or no crowds I am sure it will be fabulous!

I'm actually looking for next December. My fault - I did say this year. So taking the FLE expansion out of the equation, it sounds like it may be doable.

Totally doable. It's a great week; we hope to be back that week in 2013 too.

Enjoy!!!
