Crowds and week before Memorial Day

Hi.

I know Memorial Day weekend is quite crowded but does anyone have first-hand experience with crowds the week before? ie: May 18-23. We'll be leaving WDW the Friday before Memorial Day.

I'll be there that same week. I'm hoping for low crowds. I've been in May in the past (9th -14th) and it was great. Low crowds, good weather. Considering most families still have kids in school, I'm betting that the 18th - 23rd will be good. I would expect the crowds to start arriving on the 22nd or 23rd for the holiday weekend.

I'll also be there that week. I was there 4 years ago for convention at the same time. It was hot and crowds were pretty low. The flower and garden show was beautiful.

We'll be there too! We arrive the weekend prior and stay through the holiday. Our goal is to do most of the popuar park stuff early in the trip. We're staying at AKL last 7 nights so if parks are crowded we'll just lounge around the pool and enjoy the resort. We are not commandos, prefering to hit the parks early for a few hours then back to the resort for a break, so aren't particularly worried.
