Where is the best place to watch the fireworks from - within the Magic Kingdom - when it's absolutely MOBBED because there is only one display that night?

And in order to avoid the mob scene and crush after the fireworks when everyone is leaving the park, is it allowable to hang back for a half hour or so?

I think a great spot, C.Ann, is the rose garden area, just off to the side of the Castle and down a walkway from the walkway that goes to Tomorrowland. As for hanging around, absolutely. I always try to leave way after the fireworks, then you get to see the Kiss Goodnight.

I like to watch them by cosmic rays on the concourse between tomorrowland and main street, you get a great unobstructed view of the castle and it's not hard to get out there. I don't know if they do this every night but on the night we were in the MK they were letting people exit over in tomorrowland after the fireworks, near where buzz lightyear is. That night there happened to be two shows of spectromagic and we were staying for the second one anyway.

I always wondered about that - because I have read so many reports on the DIS of people being pushed, shoved, crushed, and what-have-you while trying to exit after the fireworks.. I thought maybe you had to leave right away and that's why people exposed themselves to that madness..

Good to know we won't have to leave right away! With a 5 yr. old it would be so easy for her to get hurt or lost in the mob.. :(

Now when you say "one walkway down from Tomorrowland" you mean coming back towards Main Street - right? At the moment I can't place the Rose Garden for the life of me.. (See my newest tag - LOL)

Do you mean by the tables? Don't even tell me we could sit down - that would be WAAAAAY too good to be true.. LOL

When we were there we stood right up at the wall so we didn't really get to sit. I was taping the fireworks so I didn't see behind me to see if people there were able to see, we got there about thirty minutes early. It was a great view thought, nothing in front of us.

Thanks for the walk down memory lane, Dan!:smooth: This looks like a great spot to try - and the kids could get a ride in on Buzz while I hold their spots!
