We are headed for our first trip next weekend. We will be there Friday night, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. I know we want to try to get their early and we plan on leaving for a break mid afternoon...but just for planning purposes I just wondered what time it starts to get really busy and then what time evening crowds die down (if they ever do). If we plan on staying until close...are the crowds still pretty good at that time?

saturday is going to be your worst day...ALL day...friday will be less crowded but still crowded especially starting around 10:30...Sunday should be alot better with Monday even better than that...evening crowds dont really die down till after last Fantasmic because weekends is the only time its playing now....Ive been going to DL in Oct for years and for the last 4 years its been 3rd week of Oct...and every year it gets busier and busier...normally I go from Sun-Thurs. but this year Im going Fri.-Sun and I know already its going to be a nightmare but hey your at DL right??? break at lunch till the sun goes down and then go back...take a nap or if your really crazy and live where you think 65º is hot then take a swim lol.....hope that helps:goodvibes

I'm going to respectfully disagree with this statement. ;)

Strangely, Saturday could turn out to be slightly less crowded than Friday. The reason? The majority of Annual Passes are blocked out that day. (That said, it's still going to be very busy.)

On Friday & Sunday, you can expect to see crowds of Southern California Annual Passholders descend on the Park -- especially in the late afternoon/early evening. You can't turn on local TV without seeing a HalloweenTime commercial, and the addition this year of Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy and the Halloween fireworks has only made the crowd situation worse. :crowded:

And, yeah, Monday is Columbus Day. Plan on that being a really busy day, too -- more like a typical Sunday than a usual Monday.

Next week is also fall break for Utah schools (Thurs. and Fri. & thru the weekend), and there are usually quite a number of people who go to Disneyland for the holiday.

ETA: Oh wait, you said next weekend. Did you mean this upcoming as in the 9th? If so, ignore my response. Utah's break is the 15th and 16th. Either way, try not to worry about the crowds too much and have a great time!

Wonderful post! Yes, Friday and Sunday will be crowded due to APs not being blocked out. Monday will be crowded because of Columbus Day. Saturday may be actually your least crowded day. I went last year this upcoming weekend and it was crowded.
