Was wondering if anyone had any insight on the crowd levels the week before memorial day? We were thinking of heading down May 18th to the 23rd.

I have read that it starts getting more crowded as the month of may goes on, but not really much detailed info.

Thanks

We are heading down almost the exact same time (18-24). From what I've read it gets increasingly busier towards Memorial day weekend. Some places have the crowd levels starting off on Sunday at a 5 and then increasing to an 8 by Saturday (our departure day anyways).

Was just curious, it seems like it would be crowded but maybe not as much as I would think considering school ends around the country in about a week or two after memorial day.

We were down there last year for that week. We left on Memorial Day.

The crowds were a bit heavy, but definitely manageable from Monday through Thursday.

Keep in mind Fri-Sun is Star Wars Weekend, so DHS will be PACKED. We spent both days at DHS and there were crowds everywhere. We still had a blast though. Unless you are into Star Wars, avoid DHS that weekend.

Sunday we went to MK. It was ridiculous. It was so crowded, and we were so tired that we ended up leaving around 1, and spending the rest of the day at the WL pool.

Either way, you will have so much fun, and remember to be wary of the heat. Plan for temps to be in the high 80's low 90's all week.

Thank goodness for the pools, eh? We are going to be there for Memorial day weekend this year and that is the mantra I keep chanting to myself. We will have fun. We will hang at the pool.

We were there that week last year and I will echo the PP who said that Monday-Thursday were completely manageable, but on Friday things got kind of nuts. The beginning of the week was a dream, though. We did utilize FP- to the fullest extent, but found that on several rides we didn't even need them. Have fun!

We will be there at that time as well, arriving May 16th and leaving Friday May 23rd. We were there three years ago at almost the same time, but Memorial Day was later and we didn't run into it. I did find our Mothers Day trip last year to be getting a little warm in the afternoon, so I am expecting warm temps this year too.

Yea we are planning on checking in Sunday and leaving on Friday morning. So it sounds like we will probably miss the crowds. we are into taking our time and all that so not really any much "must sees" on this trip.

Hit rope drop and you will get to the attractions you want to see most. Have your fast passes for afternoon to early evening. When parades/shows start hit the rides again. Even going during the moderately busy time you chose you should get it all in.

I'm kind of hoping with Memorial day being early this year and a lot of schools having to extend their school year out because of the crazy winter that the crowds will be a bit lower. I can dream, right?

I was thinking the same thing!!!::yes::

We r there 18-25. I am hoping that crowds r light. We usually go in late June or early August and crowds r horrible.

This will be our third year in and around Memorial Day weekend. We will be there the 20-28th this year. Crowds are not terrible, as others have mentioned. We have found the weather to be gorgeous. Nice and warm (high 80's), and not killer humidity. We have been lucky in not getting hit with a ton of rain. :)

We will be there 17-25 I think out park days will be 18-22 and avoid the crowds for the 24 hour event. We've been a few times around Memorial Day. In '08 I remember the temp in the van said 101* it smelled like the tar was melting in the parking lot.

When is the 24 hour event then?
