Crowd level changes and touring plan tip (for newbies)

I always use this plan
Don't do early entry park
Don't do MK on Fri-Sat_Sun_mon
so aug 18 is a Tues-seems that's ok? Or is it Early Entry Day?

Actually, I just did some research and school doesn't start in Florida until August 24 this year. According to current Florida law, schools cannot open any earlier than 14 days before Labor Day.

That is wwwwaaaaaayyyyyyyyyy too much thinking for me! When we first saw the crowd calendar for our stay my first thought was "those are low, bet they change" and they did. But seriously.... I only use it as a guide. Even though the levels went up I didn't change anything ... we will just go with it and adjust as needed when we get there.

Reading posts like this makes me feel a lot more relaxed. And that's where I should be...it's a vacation for goodness sake!

You go back to school so early! You must surely end the school year, say, after first week of June?? I'm a Canadian teacher. We go to the last Friday of June then don't return until after Labour Day, well at least the kids don't...this year they've booked a meeting for us teachers on the 3rd! Could have hit Disney the first week of September if it were not for that...and rushed back to work, unprepared and exhausted! Lol Not!

I don't live in Florida, I live in Indiana, but yes we do go back early. Our school district operates on a traditional calendar and the last day of classes this year is May 28. The kids return to school August 13.

My DD graduates from high school this week (!) and starts courses at a local university August 24. We are taking this August 16-20 trip because we aren't doing our usual October trip. While DD was in elementary thru high school we would go during her Fall Break. In college she also gets an October Fall Break but it's only Mon-Tue.

Our last day in the MK on our last lengthy trip to WDW was a Saturday. They were expecting such large crowds they added hours to both ends of the day. But we had plans at the BBB, CRT and BOG that day. Crowd predictions kept going up and it made me nervous. You know what? We had a great day. It was all great right up through needing to exit the park just as Wishes was starting (I wasn't feeling well and needed to leave). Other than that crush of humanity to end the day, it was really great. We had a plan, we stuck with it, and all was great.

Well I'm not a newbie, but this thread makes me glad I don't bother with crowd calendars or touring plans. I have a general plan of my own making in my head and my 3 FP reserved.

The 18th is Tuesday and there's no EMH that morning. I did snag the 805 Crystal Palace and dinner at BOG though for both the 18th and 21st , therefore my ease in switching.

I'm convinced I'm convinced! I'm gonna leave my plans as is. Unsubscribe to the emails...???? Not sure if I could handle that. But one thing is for sure...I'm glad I posted this thread! What a learning curve!!!

I am glad you did too, my 180 day is next Thursday and I have mostly picked Josh's recommendations save for EMH, but we will hop out when crowds get high. I was freaking out a bit as well, but this thread helped.
