Life got too crazy for a while there and I hadn't had a chance to check out your PTR yet. Now that things are back to normal (not that normal isn't busy ) I have DIS time again! I'm sure I'll have more to say once I get all caught but just wanted to say hi for now

Hi Lara,

Yay! Glad you have some time to DIS again! Welcome aboard!! If you remember the last time we talked there was no trip in our future.....but with a little persistence, I managed to convince DH to return for a quick trip in April, during the boys spring break. We're very excited!!! We've decided to only visit 2 parks this time (our favorites) so we can do some new things. It should be fun! Anyways, I'm so happy you joined in!!

Well...I hope everyone had a great weekend!!I spent the weekend putting up new wallpaper and border in the kitchen..UGH! What a job! I actually should be trying to get things back in order before the boys get home from school in few hours. But, I felt a break was needed!!

Unfortunately, we had planned to go to the Winter Carnival on Friday night but poor Noah wasn't feeling well. I had forgotten all about it as the night wore on until about an hour after the boys went to bed when I heard....BOOM...BANG. I ran into our family room where DH was watching TV. "What was that I asked?".....well this is what it ended up being....

Yes...fireworks at the beginning of February in the freezing cold. So, there I was out on my front porch trying to snap some pictures. It was about 20 degrees and I was shivering but I wanted the boys to see at least a few pictures. (the things you will do for your kids.) I knew by the time I went upstairs and tried to wake them they would probably be over. All in all though I thought it was a pretty cool thing to see on a Friday night in February!!!

On with the travel goodies!! Oh I forgot to mention...I made it to Home Depot over the weekend to pick up my Mickey heads for our countdown calendar! YAY! So hopefully I can get started it on it and post it for you all to see in a couple weeks. I've been picking up travel goodies here and there for awhile. I'll have to look at my list to see what I'm missing because I know there are a few things...but here is what I have picked up so far.

I also received some Mickey Mail last week!! Gotta love the Mickey mail!!

Ahh....Mickey Mail..it always makes the trip feel that much closer!!

How cool to see fireworks in February. What a nice Mama you are for taking pictures so the boys could see.

You should have heard all the fireworks around our house last night. Remember....we're in Louisiana so the fireworks started as soon as the Saints won the Super Bowl. We had a few left over from New Year's so Hunter and John shot a few themselves.

It looks like you are well on your way of gathering your "Disney stuff" as I like to call it. We are still over three months away and I have already started collecting things to take.

Yea! for Mickey Mail! I love getting mail from Disney. Makes me happy!

Fireworks are my favorite! How fun to have them unexpectedly! I hate the cold so I would have tried to find a nice window to take pictures from....LOL!

YAY for starting to pick up travel items and for getting Mickey mail! That always does make your trip seem that much closer. We hardly ever get Mickey mail being in DVC. Unless my dad hides it from me...LOL.

Did you see that envelope? Isn't it so cool? It has Goofy in the front of the monorail, Dumbo flying over head and Belle reading in the back...and if you turn it over it has Stitch, Dopey, and Captain Hook riding also.It's the cutest thing!!

I know...I love seeing fireworks but seeing them in February made it even better....so unexpected!!

Hi Everyone!!
Whew! It's been a busy week, I've barely had any time to DIS this week. Between getting ready for Noah's valentine party, and Nick's ski trip tomorrow plus trying to get ahead in my school work because the boys have winter break next week it's been non-stop!! I attempted to post a trivia question but the computer was acting up the other day.Which reminds me...I'm thinking of moving on to a new category instead of guess this movie quote maybe doing something like Guess this park attraction? or something like that? Got any fun ideas?

In the meantime, I've decided that it might be fun to look back at Epcot.... before looking ahead to all the new and favorite things we want to do this trip.(our day 2/touring plans in other words) So, I decided to share a few pictures from our very first trip in April of 2008. It was a great trip--the weather was beautiful....the crowds for being Spring Break weren't too bad...all and all a perfect day!!

There are just a few pics of our day in Epcot 2008. As you can tell from the first few pictures it started off a bit chilly but quickly warmed up as the day went on. We spent more time that first year just taking everything in. It's hard to believe but we didn't ride Soarin' or Test Track that trip. And..you may have noticed that I didn't take the best pictures in the WS. We spent very little time exploring the countries and it was mostly a stop and snap a picture and move on. (which is probably why they are all crooked.) In my defense, I hadn't really discovered the DISboards yet and although I planned for the trip, Epcot was a last minute addition to our plans. I had read it was a park mostly for adults. The boys were small and had little interest in the WS at the time. It's funny how things work out....because now Epcot is one of our very favorite parks!! I'm so happy that we have gotten the opportunity to go back and to see how truly wonderful it is!!

Thanks, Lisa!! Looking back on it now...I think we felt the same way..a little disappointed. Not to say we didn't have a great time because we did but after seeing Magic Kingdom the day before with all the rides and so much to do! I think the boys were expecting the same thing in Epcot and when they didn't find it-- they were ready to head back to the resort and swim. It was really hard to appreciate the sights when DH and I were dealing with two bored and grumpy kids! However, now it's the park they want to visit first...it's so funny how things work out!!
