I have been going back and forth, wondering if I should purchase a pair of crocs for our upcoming trip. Are they really comfortable enough to wear in the parks all day? Which style...mary janes, or cayman would you recommend? :confused3

Thank you!

It seems to depend on the person. I wore MJs for our trip and they were wonderful. Others have worn crocs for ages with no problem and got horrific blisters when wearing them at the parks.

I wore mine all day in the parks in January and my feet felt better at the end of the day than on the days that I wore my expensive sneakers ment for walking. I did wear socks with them.

I had no problems at all. Some people just don't have problems with blisters, etc. I do and they were great! The only complaint I had is they were slippery when wet.

For me they worked better than my broken in running shoes or flip flops - I always got blisters on other trips and was dying by the end of the day.

For our trip in December, I bought myself and my mom a pair - I couldn't believe how great I felt - even at the end of the day - sure I got tierd, but not as early and no blisters. My mom loved them too, and one day decided to use her sneakers, to compare, by noon she was dying and wishing she had also brought along her crocs. She definately said they are better - and has still been using them at work til this day (and she is a janitor on her feet all the time).

CROCS have been the best tip I have learned on the DISBOARDS. Not only do my feet feel great wearing them all day, but I don't have trouble with my hips or knees either. And I can go much longer without my lower back hurting too!

Thank you all for your great advice. Do you all wear them with socks? I was thinking I would to eliminate dirt getting in or them being too slippery. Would you recommend any styles?

Thanks again!

I own several styles- Beach, Cayman, Mary Jane, and Cleo. I haven't tried the Cleo at WDW yet, but have worn all the others, and here is my ranking:
1) Beach (Disney style)
2) Cayman
3) Mary Jane

The Beach got the best marks for a combination of cushioning in the sole and loose, non-rubbing, non-blister forming fit. I like the Caymans ALMOST as much as the Beach, but they are a slimmer fit and I noticed a slight bit of rubbing on the top of my instep after a full day of walking. The Mary Janes are the best looking IMO, but they have a thinner sole. I could tell a difference after a full day at the parks- I could really feel the pavement beneath my feet in the MJs and my feet were more tired and achy.

I'll be trying out the Cleo style on our next trip- I have high hopes for them. They seem really cushy and airy.

BTW- I highly recommend using BodyGlide with Crocs (or any shoes)- really cuts down on friction so you won't get "hot spots" and blisters.

Oh! Forgot to add- I wear socks with my Crocs only when it is chilly out. I personally prefer them without socks, but a lot of people like them with socks. I'd say to try them both ways and see which you prefer.

I wore them without socks and got blisters big time. When we go back I will try them with socks!!!

MomofKatie - This is almost word-for-word what I would have posted! Except that I have Beach/Niles/Mary Janes and would rate them in that order for comfort.

Beach Crocs + Body Glide were the best things that ever happened to my feet..and my lower back! :thumbsup2

My DD and I both wore Beaches every day on our last trip and our feet felt great. My DD did need to wear peds with hers or she ends up with blisters. I did socks and sockless and I didn't have an issue with blisters.

Do your feet get hot when you wear them in the parks when it's hot out?

My husband and I both have the Cayman Crocs and took them to Disney last year. We were afraid to wear them all day at the parks because we were afraid of blisters. One day while there, it was raining and we didn't want to wear our tennis shoes so we wore the Crocs. They were sooooo comfortable that we wore them for the rest of the trip. When it was rainy the water cooled our feet off. As someone else said, our feet, back, and hips felt much better at the end of the day than they normally do at the end of a Disney day.
Our feet did sweat a little but no more than any sandal type shoes, not enough to be slippery or anything. They let the air flow through so they are much cooler than tennis shoes.

Where do you get the Beach ones? As you can tell - I'm totally clueless on the whole croc issues. Also, do you have a problem with your feet sweating and/or getting too hot? Did you also have trouble walking in them? Reports of how comfortable is really getting me to think of purchasing. Thanks for all responses.

OMG...I have told myself I would never buy a pair as they look so ugly and uncomfortable. But after these rave reviews, I may have to try a pair! I did see a lot of people wearing them on our last Disney trip...most of them had ankle socks on underneath.

I wear socks with mine only when Im at WDW because of blisters.. my legs sometimes still get a little tired but my feet dont hurt.. in past by the end of the day my feet would feel like they were going to fall off because they hurt so bad but not when I wear my crocs.. I got DD9 a pair for her birthday too to wear at wdw..

I didn't want to try them either because I thought they were kind of ugly. Well for our last trip, I got a pair for DD and got myself a pair because I thought it would be cute to have matching shoes and it gave me a reason to have on the "ugly shoes".

Well, I was really happy that I had them on. There was a HUGE thunderstorm, coming down so hard and fast that everything was getting soaked. All DD and I had to do was take off our socks (it was cool that morning and we were both wearing pants), cuff up our pants to wader length and we were back on our way. DH & DS' shoes were totally soaked through, but DD and I just would pop off our shoes while on a ride or at a show and let them dry and we were comfy once again.

Actually, DS has requested them for our next trip.

That's exactly how I feel!

OK ladies, where is the best place to get them, & what do men & boys wear?:surfweb:
